Do not agree about callouts being outdated at all, thing is how to connect with older than Teens, let's be honest, Kids and Teens use streaming platforms, that's it, they don't rely too much on radio, so streaming could not represent what the adults and young people prefer. To me, callouts research still is a great tool for radio programming. Especially having in mind, it's not the traditional callout when a random number used to call you, but it has evolved to online surveys.

Radios shouldn't be surprised if they are having smaller audiences year to year while streaming gets bigger. It's suicide to not play a song that people apparently really wanna listen to.

I heard it on the radio yesterday. But it was for the "Hit or Miss" feature. And listeners voted and only 52% liked it.

"Levitating" is such an interesting case to 'understand' (just a little, because most of the time it just doesn't make sense) the impact of demand on different platforms despite weak/bad callouts. Song didn't peak higher due to awful callouts, yet there are obviously people interested on the song (streaming and iTunes stats), so it's showing great longevity.
