I hope TIA is done for good, the fact it's going #2 is still so random to me.  

 

The Pop landscape is so... boring right now, my God, the fact "Mood" is still being played this much after all these months, and it's decreasing, yet none seems to be big enough to enter Top 10, they are going to get there eventually. 

 

Tate getting a 2nd wind, we love to see that and I hope she's going Top 5, song is incredible, and its reception has been absolutely great! Would love if it makes it to the Top 10 on Hot 100. 

 

Unfourtanely looks complicated for mebf right now, it's been decreasing very significantly these past weeks on callouts, and that is his biggest factor. Pop radio is just not ready for non-pure pop songs/heavier sound, it's ridiculous their decision tbh.  "Monsters" has peaked at this point, a shame, but it also lost momentum lately. 

 

Everything is just stalling, Christmas freeze all the year at this point.

Sorry for the delay, nothing you ask is dumb.

 

Radio charts are rolling charts, meaning they're the result of accumulative of spins and audience reached during a specific period of time, in this case, it's one week. The daily updates you see if basically the change on the plays the song received compared to the same day last week.

 

For genre Airplay charts (Pop Radio, HAC, Urban, etc) spins determine the rank on the chart, with the exception of Country format (this is based on Audience impressions). Spins are bust basically the times a song has been played, regardless of the number of people listening to the station. 

 

For Hot 100 purposes, overall Audience impressions are what counts. These are estimations periodically recalculated about the the reach to people who listen to a certain radio station at a certain time of day.

 

The problem with radio stations is always how to program your playlist to suit your audience. Previously, callouts and requests largely determined what was rendered. However, with the appearance of other forms of research such as streaming, Shazam, online surveys, etc., the algorithm on what programmers use in their decisions have changed. The songs take a long time to upload because it is not easy to present new material without first knowing the reception of the audience, except for exceptions such as well established artists or some musical phenomenon. Thus, the stations slowly test until they are sure that the reception is positive. Furthermore, new ways of doing research have shown that people prefer listening to familiar songs over discovering new ones. So, arguably, it's not that easy to get rid of popular songs.
