Maybe it really has a shot at going #1 on Pop Radio. I don't want to jinx it, but it's looking good for now.

There's no way a Taylor Swift song is going top 5 at pop and then not peaking at number one. Both Look What You Made Me Do and Delicate had lost momentum by the time they had reached numbers 4 and 5 at pop respectively, but suddenly they started gaining a huge amount of spins to become last minute number ones, only to free fall in terms of spins a week later. I don't think that will happen to Anti-Hero, since it seems to be poised to become the next pop radio number one after Unholy (perhaps in 4 weeks from now), but if it does somehow naturally peak at number 2, the label will artificially push it to number 1, even if it's just for a week.

 

Either way, it's almost guaranteed to be a multi-week overall airplay number one, and that's a win for Taylor, considering her last song to do so was Wildest Dreams nearly a decade ago.

So much red on radio rn  December is gonna be mostly older songs increasing again due to YE charts and an onslaught of Christmas music so I don’t expect many new songs to come about. Hopefully by January some new songs start taking radio by storm.

 

Curious if Anti Hero will eventually overtake Unholy or be blocked. I didn’t expect Unholy to be a radio smash tbh, I expected messy callouts.

My prediction is AH will snatch it from Unholy. After it depends if reception is meh I can see Unholy returning to #1, but it AHs reception is great I can see it holding on to the top spot for a while into January.

Nothing official yet for WAYF, despite some stations started to play it in advance, but they slowed down the exposure (it used to be Top 50). Nothing on Steve.

Pretty funny how the audience impressions on R&B in 2004 are greater than the audience impressions on total radio today. With the decline of physical sales, 2004 was definitely the in heart of the radio era.
