Mediabase Posted February 24, 2018 Author Posted February 24, 2018 She is so toxic and disliked by radio listeners that she managed to drag Ed Sheeran to no2 on that list during his biggest era yet.
queenoftheclouds Posted February 24, 2018 Posted February 24, 2018 She still snatches all records I hope her next videos will be amazing too

Die Young was predicted to hit #1 on the Hot 100 the week Sandy Hook happened and it was #2 on US callout chart the week before Sandy Hook. It was in fact only Sandy Hook that killed it's momentum. Even Billboard called out Kesha's "Die Young" video's Illuminati symbolism for being over the top. And the majority of fans answering the poll were Kesha fans who were crept out by the video. They said they wouldn't abandon her, but they hoped she'd make a less troubling video the next time around. The poll isn't there now, but the article still comes up on Bing. https://www.billboard.com/articles/news/474261/keha-shouts-out-illuminati-in-die-young-video-watch
brianc33710 Posted February 24, 2018 Posted February 24, 2018 You can't count Swift out, and probably not Perry altogether either. Consider these examples: Mariah Carey came back from a low much further down, and longer, than Swift's Reputation era. Then Carey stormed back in 2005 with her comeback smash The Emancipation of Mimi, and her biggest solo smash (and really biggest altogether) "We Belong Together." And that was at age 35 (Swift isn't even 30 yet, but Perry is close). Virtually everyone thought Carey was through after the lukewarm reception to "Through The Rain" (2003) on the heels of Glitter's (2001 I think) massive failure. Carey had one of the biggest comebacks in music history. I still wish she could get that one more week at #1 to break the 79-week tie with the Beatles (Led Zeppelin>Rolling Stones>Beatles). But, even after Carey's remarkable redemption at this year's New Year's Eve bash, it seems like she'll need a featured slot on a current artist's song to do it. Perhaps people were put off my Miguel's F-bomb in "Beautiful," which admittedly didn't really fit well in the song. Also of note, people thought Pink was done after "Stupid Girl" performed poorly in late 2005 (after a less successful than expected album prior to 2005 too), and then the follow-up "Who Knew" barely even charted (1st run). Then, and it took record time (in 2006) to do it, but Pink came back with U+Ur Hand, hitting #1 in its 23rd week on the Top 40 airplay chart and T 10 on the H 100. The label re-released Who Knew, which made it to the Top 10 the second time around. And Pink is still going strong in her late 30s (but maybe skewed a bit more toward AC & HAC now), and 12 years after the music industry was so sure her career was over. While Pink was one of the leads on "Lady Marmalade," she didn't score her first #1 solo song "So What" until the late 2008 -- well after she turned her career around. I remember that Billboard actually did an article on both of these artists in 2004 who were "past their prime" here in the US, but could still draw crowds overseas. BB had to eat those words within the next two years though. So Swift (and Perry) may be down, but don't count them out.
Mediabase Posted February 24, 2018 Author Posted February 24, 2018 White America wants the whole innocent white conservative girl image back. That's what made her successful.

Ryann Posted February 24, 2018 Posted February 24, 2018 the truth is, the quality just wasn't there. this is her worst album by far. it only did the numbers it did because it was Taylor Swift.

bennyboy5462 Posted February 24, 2018 Posted February 24, 2018 From effortless numbers ones to record-breaking negative bullets/plummeting singles. The extreme decline from one era to the next is real.
lousaysthings Posted February 25, 2018 Posted February 25, 2018 End Game was her opportunity to turn this era around

Rih - mediocre album sales and bad touring numbers Bey - no real HIT SINGLE. POP GIRLS aren't just doing it this years. Yep who said Bey and Rihanna were the gold standard... Beyonce is no Queen only 2.9 million of lemonade v/s 22 million for adele .
kayliah Posted February 25, 2018 Posted February 25, 2018 I'm so sad she can't even get a hit anywhere the world just isn't there this time ... Why ??? Wtf is happening to Taylor .
GagaStefi Posted February 25, 2018 Posted February 25, 2018 Why isn’t she doing anything about this? This song is so good.
GermanKCfan Posted February 25, 2018 Posted February 25, 2018 Tbh, the singles were handled all wrong this era but the album itself is good. When I finally start to like Taylor, she's flopping :-D Tbh, there is no popgirl left that has overall success. Their success are either local or very one sided. Rihanna's last era was quite some time ago and had no real hit internationally and mediocre sales. Same with Beyonce. I still haven't heard any of her last era's songs overseas. Ariana really is the only one who had a decent era. And Adele of course.

Mediabase Posted February 25, 2018 Author Posted February 25, 2018 Nothing about a 4th single yet, right?
