PULSE.
As previously reported, "Perfect" has reverted to being billed as by Sheeran solo on almost all Billboard charts after five weeks in which Beyoncé received co-lead credit following the release of its duet version. After its first week of release, that version was the most dominant in sales and streams, while also receiving significant airplay, as it was being promoted to radio. You really thought, cupcake. 5 weeks at #1 bagged.

Letemtalk
Billboard can't have two contradictory sets of statistics on their site. https://www.billboard.com/charts/hot-100/2017-12-23 https://www.billboard.com/music/beyonce/chart-history so_whats_the_truth.gif Unless they align the two one way or another, the Billboard site is no longer a valid reference for anything. Don't really care which way they do it. Edited January 18, 2018 by Letemtalk

Don't really care which way they do it. They already confirmed in their article that she's credited for the first 5 weeks at #1. Their coding on the charts are always a mess. Her credit for "Mi Gente" spans before her remix was even released, for example. It's just a coding issue, nothing more. She retains the credit. itsnickcray
Well, same situation with Britney's S&M. But it didn't really matter because Hold It Against Me was #1 a few months before + we had 2 other smashes after S&M in 2011. The thing is... GP will NEVER know Britney was on S&M or Beyonce was on Perfect.

It kinda goes beyond just "coding". For example a wikpedia editor can edit wikipedia and claim the song as solo hit for Ed and also a #1 for Beyonce and provide references for both. Or perhaps the correct answer would be for wikipedia to declare Billboard an invalid reference for US charts.

It would then get reverted because there's an article stating categorically that Beyoncé is credited for those weeks. The credit listing on the website is nothing more than a coding error, which has happened many times. Britney is listed for the full "S&M" chart run and Nicki and Kesha for the full "Till the World Ends" run, for example. They need to fix it, but it doesn't mean her credit has been removed. Why should it get reverted when there is a reference? Like I said, it doesn't bother me, since neither artist is a fave of mine. Perhaps only soundscan weekly charts are valid, but since they aren't in the public domain, they probably can't be used for wikipedia. No wonder HDD are shading Billboard all the time. Wikipedia uses Billboard articles as references, not the chart itself. The chart is only used for a song’s peak position. There is no article that states only the solo version of Perfect topped the Hot 100, they all mention Beyoncé being a co-lead (for the five weeks she was) or that she was a co-lead for five weeks now that she’s not. Beyoncé’s Billboard chart history page lists 6 #1s, including Perfect, which would be the dominant reference regardless.
