Does anybody know how many units has Red (TV) sold so far?

2 1,403,000 RED (TAYLOR'S VERSION) Taylor Swift

1.403 million units according to billboard.

For RIAA units, 300 x 2 + 300 x 4 + 750 = 2.550 million RIAA units.

Even if RIAA count Vinyls as 2 LPs instead of 4 LPs, RED TV is still ahead of 2 million RIAA units. But according to their rules, it should be counted as 4 LPs. She should reach 3 x platinum staus by the end of 2022.

2022 End: eligibilty predictions -

Debut - 8*platinum

Fearless- 11*platinum

Speak now - 8*platinum

Red - 8*platinum

1989- 12* platnum

Reputation - 5*platinum

Lover - 4*platinum (very close to 5 million)

Folklore- 3*platinum (close to 4*platinum)

Evermore- 2*platinum

Fearless TV - 1* platinum

Red TV - 3* platinum.

Apparently ATRL is planning on resetting all pages again, so all threads made prior to 11 April 2022 will disappear for good, kind of like what happened back in 2017. I want to conserve the information here, but I don't know how. Lemme get to work soon.

Even if RIAA count Vinyls as 2 LPs instead of 4 LPs, RED TV is still ahead of 2 million RIAA units. But according to their rules, it should be counted as 4 LPs. She should reach 3 x platinum staus by the end of 2022.

I'm late, but I think I can shed some light on all this, actually.

Based on historical precedent and my interpretation of RIAA rules, I'm pretty confident that the only shipments and sales that can count as multi-disc sets, or basically count as 2 or more units, are physical and digital sales. Further, it appears that their criteria is actually based specifically on the CD set released for the album, so if a four-disc vinyl is released that corresponds to a two-disc CD release (as is the case with Red TV), it still only counts as two units per copy shipped or sold. See the language on that page that implies that they certify based on the "tape or vinyl equivalent" of a CD "unit," or disc. For digital sales, it's probably a blanket threshold of 100 minutes (which Red TV easily passes). For streaming units, however, nothing is multiplied.

This means that going by basically all estimates - actual numbers from HDD, estimates of Billboard weeks we're missing actual numbers for using those we know, etc - Red TV is now at 1.5 million units via the Billboard method that does not account for multi-disc sets, and it's at 2.2 million units if we use the RIAA method, with pure sales nearing 700k.

Based on HDD numbers, Red TV is moving about 20k RIAA units per week. While this won't last forever, it's been very stable for over a month now, suggesting she's not going to collapse in units any time soon. I would expect her to reach 3 million units sold by the end of the year with the RIAA method if Red TV gets a boost when the next rerecording is released, or if another large batch of vinyls ships from her store. If none of that happens, she'll probably miss it by ~200k or so.

The other thing we have to remember, though, is that the RIAA counts shipments, not sales - so any unsold copies of Red TV sitting on shelves by the end of the year are also going to count for certification purposes if she submits it for certification. That means she could actually reach the 3 million mark a bit sooner, which makes me more confident that it will be eligible for triple platinum this year.

In the long term, I think it's possible that Red TV actually comes close to Folklore in RIAA units, especially if she decides to pull any more signed copy shenanigans or larger vinyl shipments before she moves on to the next rerecording (thought that's very unlikely at this point). It's been insanely successful compared to what was expected. Also, fun fact, it was probably eligible for platinum by the end of the first week, with about 974k RIAA units from sales and streams without any excess shipments counted! Depending on whether you trust Rolling Stone / AlphaData's debut-week number for Lover (991k) or Billboard's (867k), one could argue Red TV had her biggest debut week since Reputation.

Hi! I don't really use ATRL anymore, so I'm sorry I didn't get back to you on this earlier.

If any Swiftie is willing to take this page, then that would be great.

no problem at all! I figured you were busy! it happened to me too where I could not keep updating a receipts thread for an artist. It's a lot of hard work tbh. I'm not going to be able to take care of Taylor's receptis thread but i'm hoping we have an active member who could update the OP at least like once a month or every two months. hopefully someone sees this lol!

Hi! I don't really use ATRL anymore, so I'm sorry I didn't get back to you on this earlier.

If any Swiftie is willing to take this page, then that would be great.
