poll Better healing album by a pop girl: Miley, Kesha, Ari, Sabrina, Billie or Lorde?
Julia Fox posted a topic in Base
In the last years there have been a common factor between some pop stars: healing album. A concept that involves very introspective lyrics about personal struggles with life, love, exposure. All of that with a curious storyline from finish to end that guides the listener through the journey of the singer's tumultuous chapter with eclectic sounds, catchy songs, some bangers, electronic oriented bops, strings and live instruments that showcase any of this girls versatility and talent. All of these records were very successful on its way and all of them snatched some cute hits or smashes and at the same time all of them are at least certified Gold by the RIAA and are considered by many, their best albums (Solar Power is an exception on all of these ones but still put it on the pill because it’s a healing album after all) But which of these records is the best? -

When you really think about it, this is realy how music videos should be made, to elevate the music so well. You can tell that not a huge budget was invested in this video, but it's still so well made and well thought-out. Even when the intro of the song starts. The heart thumbing kinda sound of the instrumental goes well when Peaches/Ariana is connected to the medical monitor, or at 01:10 the instrumental also goes well when they show the screen that shows the illustration of her brain. That's when you know when a music video director does care about the little but actually important things when making a music video. The video is also so emotional that's why it's connecting with people and doing so well. For quite a while (especially in the streaming era), music videos have not beem very vital when it comes to a song being successful or not, but this time it is doing its job at making the song a success. Plus, I also see people everywhere praise Ariana her acting skills in this. Her crying looks so real. I say this is Video of the Year. Do you have any other contender(s)?

Billie deserves EVERY bit of acclaim and success she's getting but i can't help to think the industry is sleeping on Lana Is being looooooong overdue for an Oscar nominee song, specially for a James Bond film and others thoughts? why is Lana constantly disrespected by these award ceremonies?

The Empress, Queen Mother of Key Changes because of her musicality and how smartly she uses them. She has so many that I can't even include them all, but here are some I feel are best. For example, Whenever You Call might be my favorite because it has a knockout of a bridge that ends with a sustained note that leads into a riff. Mariah has done this exact trick to lead into a key change, but she makes you wait for this one. The first two choruses of the song have a mix of Mariah’s signature falsetto/head voice flips, but the beginning of the third chorus is pretty much fully belted. She sings half of the chorus, she then hits the line “whenever you call”, and there’s a drum hit right as she belts a sustained note in a higher key. It’s glorious. Forever executes it super well also. and ABMB is a classic. I Want to Know What Love Is and I Wish You Well actually go DOWN a key What do you think is the best? bridge ends a little after 2:55 but she actually changes the key in the final chorus at 3:15 2:58 3:15 2:38 There are two. 2:17 and 2:51 2:55 2:28 2:32 3:27 2:55 3:40 2:26 3:02 3:38

poll Why don’t the pop girls tour Asia and Latin America besides Taylor?
Fleahive posted a topic in Base
I don’t think it’s about demand. To me it appears Latin America and especially Asia are head over heels to see any American/European artist as it’s rare in today’s times. If Austin Mahone can be massive in Asia anyone can especially the real megastars. Is it a tour length issue? Stopping in high demand cities in America and UK is exhausting enough I’m sure. -
im jumping all over the place with these nnn oh well. this was a great year tbh and my personal pick is "The Bones" tbh. such a great song.
