  3. Olivia Lufkin (stage name: OLIVIA) has finally released her (almost full) past catalog on streaming platforms after asking her on social media for more than a decade to finally make the songs available on Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music and other services. For those curious about who she is, is a bilingual artist on the cutting edge, sub-label of avex trax. OLIVIA was born in Okinawa, but has lived in the U.S. for roughly six years. Her music sound goes from experimental/alternative rock pop music to electronic music. She's better known for singing the ending theme song to the anime adaptation to Yazawa Ai's manga NANA, "a little pain". She released a full length album for the music played by Reira, one of the anime main characters. Anna Tsuchiya, in the other hand, released an album for the other main character: Nana. Sadly, she still has no unique artist page on Spotify and her music catalog is scattered in two different Olivia's artists pages, one for an R&B singer named "Olivia" and other one for another singer named "OLIVIA". Also, her NANA music is in a third artist page named "OLIVIA inspi' REIRA (TRAPNEST)". There are two mini albums yet to upload on streaming services, but almost everything else is now available. If you are into J-Pop with alternative rock influences, this artist is made for you. Rumor has it that she's making a comeback this year with her first music release since 2012's release of "CALLING -KINDGOM MIX-" for the Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance soundtrack. Here's some of her music, check her out:

  7. Andrew Watt and Cirkut continue their praise of Britney's command of the recording studio and clear vision of how she wanted the song to sound. Here are some interesting parts of the interview they gave to Variety: Spears “was actually one of the first major artists I got to produce for back when I was first getting my start professionally,” says Cirkut. “It feels very special to be a part of her first release in quite some time, not to mention at a significant positive turning point in her life and career. Seeing her fans’ excitement gets me excited.” Adds Watt, “I was born in 1990, so she’s my pop star, you know? She’s the one I grew up watching on MTV. She’s my Madonna. To record with her and hear that voice was just incredible. She was a master at hearing her own voice and knowing when she had the take. You’d never think her and Elton’s voices would blend so well, but they do. She took the record to a place we never dreamed it could go and really made it an event.” Full interview: https://www.google.com/amp/s/variety.com/2022/music/news/hold-me-closer-britney-elton-producers-andrew-watt-cirkut-tell-story-behind-collab-1235351497/amp/ Not sure how Elton will feel about the Madonna reference tho

  14. Of course, there's very great k-pop groups like IVE who are capable to look forward and also serve great melodic dance-pop songs, that I wouldn't even classify as k-pop, just pop made by a korean group. But all the elements of k-pop, at least to me, sound extremely dated, like a mix of mid to late 2000s BEPs with the most generic 2012 EDM shenanigans. Most songs are extremely noisy, production based and sound basically parody-like. Everytime I see a group like BLACKPINK release a single, it instantly reminds me of the infamously named worst song of all time "Swagger Jagger" by Cher Lloyd. This is not meant to single out any group in particular (after all, they're all the victims of what might be the will.i.am of Korea, Teddy Park), so keep it cute
  15. New album out next Spring, according to Billboard. Lead single, "With Love From", is out November 2nd. http://withlovefrom.us/

  17. I can see why Jordin don’t like the song, Chile Dababy is DaPits . Would’ve been excellent for a Red Sangria remix though
  18. From the new PaperMag interview: Finally Enough Love kicks off a multi-year initiative to reissue all her past albums, remastered, which will include previously unheard versions and rarities so mythic the reveal of them could send certain corners of the Madonna fandom into bouts of foaming-at-the-mouth hysteria. https://www.papermag.com/madonna-cover-2657875747.html?rebelltitem=3#rebelltitem3 !!!!!!
