  1. https://variety.com/2023/global/news/doctor-who-jinkx-monsoon-drag-race-1235568659/ Jinkx Monsoon, winner of the fifth season of “RuPaul’s Drag Race” and the seventh season of “RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars,” has been added to the cast of the BBC’s long-running and immensely popular “Doctor Who” series. Monsoon is set to be playing a major role in the series. “In a galaxy of comets and supernovas, here comes the biggest star of all. Jinkx Monsoon is on a collision course with the TARDIS, and ‘Doctor Who’ will never be the same again,” showrunner Russell T Davies said. “I’m honored, thrilled, and utterly excited to join ‘Doctor Who!’ Russell T Davies is a visionary and a brilliant writer — I can’t wait to get into the weeds with him and the crew! I hope there’s room in the TARDIS for my luggage,” Monsoon said. The drag queen recently completed a successful run on Broadway as Matron “Mama” Morton in “Chicago” and also appears in the WOW Presents Plus original, “Sketchy Queens.” “Doctor Who” returns in November 2023 with three special episodes with David Tennant as the 14th Doctor to coincide with the 60th anniversary. Tennant and Catherine Tate are reprising their roles for the show’s 60th anniversary, and the BBC has confirmed that they will appear in three special episodes, set to air in November this year. The next Doctor, played by “Sex Education” star Ncuti Gatwa, will take control of the TARDIS after Tennant, with his first episode airing over the festive period. “Doctor Who” began in 1963 and follows the adventures of a Time Lord known as The Doctor, an extraterrestrial being with a human appearance. The Doctor travels the universe in a time-traveling spaceship called the TARDIS.

    Anyone miss their old body?

Hello! I'm in my late 20s, and I miss when I used to be 180 pounds. For reference, I'm 6'1, and I miss not having a belly and fitting very easily into size 36/38 pants. I felt so much sexier. I am on medication that causes weight gain, and I have endured a lot of stress in the past year, so I shouldn't give myself too much crap. I do have a gym membership, and I know how to eat properly, but dang it, some foods just taste so good and life can be stressful as it is. I'm not looking for sympathy, but I'm genuinely wondering if anyone misses their old body. I'm also wondering if this is a thing you think about as you get older.

  7. I remember this was a popular right-wing talking point a few years back. Conservatives and Republicans claimed that Gen Z were shaping up to become the most conservative generation in decades and rejected all the progressive and liberal ideas of Millennials. As we all know now, it turned out that Gen Z became an even more liberal and accepting version of Millennials, especially about LGBTQ issues. I love how conservatives took the L and pretend this theory never happened.

What are some misnomers and red herrings that the pro-animal exploitation side of the argument uses to mischaracterize the pro-animal liberation segment of society?
  9. There are countless times in my life where a new guy I met (most of the time they are handsome) from work or acquaintances will invite me for a dinner or hang out then I thought it’s a date but turned out they are straight and they just genuinely enjoy my company. Am I the only one who is experiencing this phenomena? The hard thing is sometimes you hang out in a pub and it involves alcohol and I need to control myself because I gotta respect boundaries. Do you hang out with straight guys ATRL?

  11. https://returntonow.net/2016/04/16/jarawas/#google_vignette “They left Africa 70,000 years ago. They are [among] the most ancient people in the world. There are no more than 400 of them. Up til now, they had managed to shelter themselves from the madness of our world.” The Jarawa have been living with almost no contact from our world for at least 35,000 years, the documentary claims. But they now face extinction. “We live really quietly in the forest, and we are happy,” a Jarawa man says in the film. “Here, there is everything we need. The trees are full of fruits, and the flowers are magnificent … We can find everything we need in the jungle.” “We don’t like people from the outside,” another tribesman adds. “They are bad. These people have only bad things to bring us … They give us tobacco [and alcohol] and they teach us how to chew, and it’s not good for us.” “This is where we want to live,” a Jarawa woman says. “Our life is here, nowhere else. We cannot love your world … Your world is bad for us. We don’t like it. There are too many people. Too much noise. No peace. In the other world, it smells bad … Here it is more beautiful. Living here is more peaceful.
  12. There's been a lot of discussion online about digital nomads, people working in one country but living in another. Usually people moving from a rich but expensive country (most often the US) and moving to a less affluent country. Popular places include Mexico, Puerto Rico, Indonesia, Portugal and Spain. A lot of these countries initially welcomed digital nomads to bring more money in but an influx has led to increases in prices in some areas and frustration from locals especially as many nomads don't learn the language or partake in the local culture. I even saw some people calling it a new form of colonialism. What do the ATRL girlies think?

  21. A few months ago my company’s CEO announced that unfortunately we lost millions of dollars in revenue due to underperformance. In my mind I already thought oh sh*t ppl are going to be dropping left and right soon. So on Friday my boss tells our team to join a meeting at 12:30 but sends the invite at 12:29. I was on lunch as was half the team so only half showed up. I return at 1:00 to angry messages from my director screaming at me about job abandonment and how this has been a pattern for me of not responding to messages. In reality, I did the math and it takes me like 5 minutes on average to respond to messages. She also was not happy about how in our last team meeting, I made a comment about how returning to the office is pointless and she went off on me about that. She also started screaming about how I’m not living up to how I presented myself in my interview and how I’m underperforming. We jump onto a call and my manager is there along w the director. The manager doesn’t say anything and just nods. When I try to point out that the invite was sent a minute before the meeting she yells at me for not taking accountability. She said how will we move forward but I’m so shocked I don’t know what to say. I said I will come up w a plan of action to follow up. She scheduled a follow up this Friday at 9AM but I’m afraid I’m gonna open up that zoom and HR will be there too. Im thinking if I quit, then at least I won’t have to explain being fired to new potential employers but then there’s no chance I can get unemployment. If I am fired, I don’t think I can collect unemployment there either bc they will say I committed absenteeism/misconduct and in my state those bar you from collecting unemployment. I can appeal it but even that would be hard bc my company’s email won’t even let me email myself the papertrail of how my manager literally two weeks ago did my yearly performance review and said only positive things. Im ******* scared AF and I don’t know what I should do
