  1. you just realize you won the lotto 1.234.567$... but you lost the ticket, what would you do? How would you work through that?
  2. sooo a few days ago, I met my sister's boyfriend. They've been dating on and off for a little over a year and they've known each other since high school. They're both in college now and they've been navigating a long-distance relationship. He seems like a very sweet guy, he's extremely kind. He was kind of shy but my sister says that's because he was very nervous to meet me, which is understandable. First of all, I know it's not right to label someone based on a bunch of dated stereotypes BUT as a gay guy myself, I just couldn't help but notice the mannerisms. Secondly, I'm so happy that my sister is in love and is happy but at the same time, I don't want her to get her feelings hurt in the future btw she knows about me and we have a great relationship and I definitely don't wanna ruin that either so I'm really torn. Should I approach her about this or should I keep this thought to myself? I already lowkey hate myself for even thinking something like that after seeing the guy once He kinda reminded me of myself when I was their age and still in the closet tbh

  12. At least initially, Netflix’s broad password crackdown appears to be producing the streamer’s desired results in converting freeloaders into paying customers in the U.S., according to early data from research company Antenna. On May 23, Netflix began notifying U.S. customers that users on their accounts who live outside their households would need to be added as an “extra member” (or get their own subscriptions). Since then, Netflix has had the four single largest days of U.S. user sign-ups since January 2019, when Antenna first began tracking the metric. Based on the most current Antenna data available, Netflix average daily sign-ups reached 73,000 from May 25-28, a 102% increase from the prior 60-day average. That was more than the spikes in subscriber sign-ups Antenna recorded during the initial U.S. COVID-19 lockdowns in March and April 2020. Netflix U.S. cancelations also increased over May 25-28 — a phenomenon the company told investors it expected — but those were less than the number of sign-ups, according to Antenna. The ratio of sign-ups to cancelations since May 23 increased 25.6% compared with the previous 60-day period. In the U.S., Netflix has told customers they must buy an “extra member” at an additional $7.99/month for anyone who doesn’t live with them that currently uses their account. The streamer has said it will start blocking devices that attempt to access a Netflix account without having legitimate account access. 15. With "The Eras Tour" coming to South America, me and my friends are non-stop listening and talking about her discography. While my favorite album is "Reputation" followed by "Midnights", when it comes to my personality* i'm clearly a 1989 boy. I like big cities, hanging out with friends, partying, veryyyy outgoing and even with the fact that i've been in 2 serious relationships, i'd rather be single. A friend of mine, is anxious but at the same time manage to just have a good time every weekend, is a hopeless romantic but at the same time somewhat feels tired of it, just overall complex, she's Midnights. Which album are you? *This is not about ur favorite album. it's about which album describes u the best.

  18. VARIETY: Dick Clark Productions, Todd Boehly’s Eldridge Acquire Golden Globe Awards as Hollywood Foreign Press Association Shutters Big changes are afoot for the Golden Globe Awards now that Dick Clark Productions and Todd Boehly’s Eldridge have acquired the assets of the nonprofit Hollywood Foreign Press Association, which will shutter as the awards franchise moves into a new era. The new owners will use the assets and the cash on hand from the HFPA to establish the Golden Globe Foundation, which will continue on the HFPA’s tradition of charitable giving. The awards show itself and related assets will now be part of the for-profit operations of Dick Clark Productions, which has long been allied with the HFPA for the awards show. The move out of the HFPA’s nonprofit status will allow the Globes to pursue many more commercial opportunities than were possible under the HFPA regime. HFPA’s current president, Helen Hoehne, said the deal had been approved by the association’s roughly 90 full-time members.

  20. So, it seems very likely that I will be moving to a country far away in September this year. I do not want to get into the specifics of where & what, but it's for continuing my education. I wanted to ask folks that have left their own country to study/work a few questions. But before that, I wanna give some context. Or, you can skip this bit. Questions are below regardless! So with all that said: -Where did you go from, and to where? (You can also skip answering this since I am not) -Was it for studying or working? -What was your financial situation like? -Did it become better/worse? -Did you enjoy it? -Did the experience change you? If so, how? -Do you think it's "worth" it? -Would you take the same decision again, now? (if you could). And to those that have not studied or lived outside of their home country, what are your own thoughts on this? All perspectives welcome! When you grow up in the Global South, going abroad is treated like it is supposed to be the pinnacle of your life (part of it has to do with elitism perpetuated by Global North countries). But as a very left-leaning person that keeps up with student debt issues, I have seen SO many stories of decade-long financial stress that I just feel...very anxious, because I do definitely think I am also going to have to go into debt now - I just got myself a small window. I feel like I am too jaded with the true material realities of shifting like this to buy into the "social mobility" and "you can be anyone you want!" type of optimistic-naïve outlook. What if I am still the same troubled person, just worse off financially and in a country I do not know? Ngl I'm still kinda excited, but I have severe personal issues (esp. with mental health - think to maximum intent) and as the time grows nearer, I get more and more anxious. I do not think I'll be able to afford therapy there for a while, but let's see...
