My local gay bar is having a single's mixer party tomorrow where there will be speed dating and cocktails to mingle with everyone. I kind of want to go and my friends all encouraged me to, but I'm a little nervous and don't know what to expect. The idea of talking to lots of different guys for like 5 minutes each gives me anxiety as I'm a real introvert and it takes me time to open up and feel comfortable around people. Just wanted to see what anyone's experience has been and if I should just go for it. Any advice is helpful!

Why is it me, the patron’s problem that the restaurant has deemed the waiter must rely partially on tips? This is not my problem. The restaurant should be fairly compensating workers. I see no reason to add additional money onto a bill for someone… doing their job. Even if this is considered rude, it is optional. Why should I make up for the what the restaurant doesn’t pay? The server should take it up with their boss. if the service is exceptional, I understand giving a few extra bucks as a treat. But this is rare. I also do not understand giving more tip because more money was spent… the same one plate and one drink was brought out. It’s not like more work was out in by the waiter. Am I an a**hole? It just makes zero sense to me.

Valentine's day is next week and every Valentine's there's always that group of people who will shout it to the roof tops how much they hate Valentine's because it's a capitalistic money-making scheme. But to me it always feels like the lonely and bitter people are the ones who say this. But they know damn well if they were in a relationship they would join with the rest of the public who are in relationships. Are people who hate Valentine's Day bitter or is there a valid reason to hate it?

I've only been to Sevilla recently to reconnect with family. Madrid seems like a whole different world so I'm wondering if there are any locals or people who have been there before who can guide me on how to being an outsider and surviving it.

I've been reading the Sri Lanka reddit subreddit a lot over the past months and they seem to have a different take on life, values and relationships from what we are used to here in the West. It's unique, but that is only my take.

It's 2017, and Lorde has decided to release the remix of Homemade Dynamite featuring Post Malone, SZA, and Khalid. To this day, I still think about the fact that this might be one of the most random remixes ever, and she did this all for it to underperform (mind you she didn't even bother to make a video for it). It's still a great song, both the original version and the remix.

Do you see people still making & watching these movies? It was so silly, I don't think she has what it takes to survive in the film industry like the classics.

I'm going through a bit of a funk right now and whenever I'm in one of these phases I like to watch YouTubers that I find very relaxing or calming. I usually enjoy watching vloggers as they provide an escape in a sense. One of my favorites right now is Sailing La Vagabonde, a channel dedicated to sailing around the world whose early videos I really enjoy (but their new videos are so bad ). I also like to watch a couple Disney vloggers, my favorite is Paging Mr. Morrow since I like his optimistic attitude and find his story very inspiring. I would love to know your own suggestions.
