discussion Are gay, bi, straight, asex and les the only acceptable sexual orientations?
JohnWayneHolland posted a topic in The Lounge
I feel like nowadays there's a bunch of new "sexual orientations" that at the end of the day are the same as the ones listed in the title. Like for example "Demisexual" is supposed to be a sexual orientation in which a person feels sexually attracted to someone only after they've developed a close emotional bond with them, but girl that could literally be classified as gay, straight, bi or whatever, depending on who you're attracted to, i don't think there needs to be a new label for that. "Graysexual" is literally Asexual. "Monosexual" which includes people who experience romantic or sexual attraction to people of one sex or gender, like girl you have to be kidding me, just say your straight or gay, no need to come up with new words. "Sapiosexual": A word used to describe those who experience attraction based on intelligence, rather than sex or gender. That literally sounds like bisexual to me. what do you think guys? are all these labels necessary or are people just trying to find new ways to feel unique and special? -

Things either are created in the past or presence. Why would I feel that some songs are cheesy but some not. What define that the songs would be dated or timeless?

discussion Useful features Android has that Apple doesn't? (and vice-versa)
naval23 posted a topic in The Lounge
For people who have used both, what are features Android has that Apple doesn't (and vice-versa: What features does Apple have that Android doesn't)? For example, To track monthly data usage - you need to manually do it for Apple monthly vs. Android is automatic once you set the tracking period. Widgets in Android are interactive vs. in Apple, they're just on the screen (ex: for the TickTick app, you can easily check off items on your to do list from your widget on Android, in Apple you'd have to tap the checklist and it'd opens the app for you to check it off) What are other features you've noticed? -

Title, i am wondering if there is anyone in this predicament, I feel like life can get hard at times.
-
so, it’s Friday night… nothing much going on. most of my friends have had long time boyfriends and sometimes I do wonder why I’ve never met anyone who makes me feel “that way”. I don’t want to meet people through apps, etc because people never get the right impression of who I am and conversations just lead nowhere. Have you ever felt the same? Like somehow life is plotting for me to stay single and live like this forever.

discussion Poll:EU ATRL-ers: Is Supporting Ukraine Worth It?
AlanRickman1946 posted a topic in The Lounge
European Nations Are Asked to Immediately Start Rationing Natural Gas Warning of possible further disruptions to Russian fuel exports, including “a complete stop of Russian gas deliveries,” the European Commission is asking E.U. member states to adopt a strict energy consumption plan. The plan would need the backing of national governments to move forward. The proposal would grant the Commission powers to force member nations to follow a strict plan of energy consumption cuts as of this summer. EUROPEAN COMMISION: European countries should immediately start rationing use of the fuel and cut their use 15 percent until next spring. If the bloc’s 27 member countries agree it would solidify the sense that Europe’s economy is on war footing because of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. Public opinion is split over whether supporting Ukraine is worth the sacrifice. Some people saying they are ready to take a bigger hit to keep up resistance to Russia. Others saying the war would hurt them more than they are willing to accept. Europeans, especially those living in the bloc’s wealthiest regions in the north and west, are among the world’s richest people on average, and are not accustomed to hardships like keeping houses cold in the winter Bruegel think tank : Governments must ask people to consume less and should have the courage to tell their citizens that Europe is in the midst of what possibly represents the greatest energy crisis in its history. So ATRL: IS IT WORTH IT? -
