discussion Top 100 Video Games of All Time Rate: Link sweeps!
Crashed posted a topic in Entertainment
Since IGN sucks at making good rankings of video games, it’s time to ask the real elite of video game critics: ATRL. In the recent months every user had the opportunity to submit a list of games they think deserve a spot in the Top 100 of the best video games of all time. A shout-out goes out to @feelslikeadream whose Nintendo Rate served as inspiration and helped me make the rules for this. Top 20: Saturday, April 23, 7pm CET Every user can submit a list with 40 games or 20 games via DM to me (@Crashed). You’ll get a confirmation that I received your list and I’ll add you to the OP as well. If you want to receive reminders, just tell me in this thread. The rank determines the amount of points the game receives: A game on rank 40 receives one point while a game on rank 1 receives 40 points. If a list only consists of 20 entries, the highest ranked game will receive 40 points and the lowest ranked game 20 points. If you need inspiration for your list, try websites like rawg.io No ties. To have more variety and avoid dominance of certain franchises, it is only allowed to submit up to 15 entries of one franchise. If a list contains more than 15 games of a franchise, only the games with the 15 highest ranks count. Remakes count as a separate game; means you can vote for both Resident Evil 2 and the remake from 2019 for example. Games with multiple editions or enhanced/remastered re-releases will be bundled as one entry, e.g., Pokémon Diamond/Pearl/Platinum, Persona 5/Persona 5 Royal, The Last of Us/The Last of Us Remastered. No DLCs, add-ons or expansions. Standalone releases are excepted from this rule; e.g., Assassin’s Creed: Freedom Cry and inFAMOUS: First Light are allowed but not Final Fantasy XIV: Endwalker. No compilations like Assassin's Creed: The Ezio Collection and Super Mario 3D All-Stars. Additional: You can comment on some of the games too. Just write your comments below the ranking and I'm gonna post them along with the ranking. But please don't write comments for more than 10 games because otherwise I would probably lose track of your contributions. How the ranks are being determined: The primary determinant of the placements is – of course – the total number of points each game received. But since a lot of games inside the Top 100 received the same number of points and to avoid ties as much as possible, the rank is also decided by the number of users that submitted a game or secondary by the highest individual score by any user. Example 1: Game A and Game B fight for #1. Both have 100 points. Game A got its points from 5 users. Game B got its points from 4 users. Game A wins because it received more submissions. Example 2: Game A and Game B fight for #1. Both have 100 points. Both games received its points from 5 users each. The highest individual score of Game A is 40 points, while Game B has a highscore of 39 points. Game A wins because it received the highest individual score. Example 3: Game A and Game B fight for #1. Both have 100 points, received points from 5 users each and both their highest individual score amounts to 40 points. We have a tie and both games win. @Adam’s Eve @BGXKB @Cottonmouth @Chiidish @Crashed @Cruel Summer @DevonRoars @DTF @Dystopian @El Chico @Eternium @feelslikeadream @Flomik @Rence @Sempiternal @silaschase @Staryu @Subomie @thatsmydemi @touya kinomoto @Touch Pass @Universo @VelvetCrush @Zaram @znake -
discussion Activist commits suicide in front of Supreme Court in name of climate change action
Communion posted a topic in Civics
Mods: Let me know if the title veers too close to the issue of "disturbing" topics since normally I'd be adverse to highlighting issues of self-harm, but the act itself on Earth Day (and the lack of media coverage) feels like it's close to news-worthiness in and of itself. -
So I know this thread was made before the reset, but I somehow missed reading it now I don't have access because of the reset Can someone clarify what the conclusion of that was

FLOP Update: -
I've struggled with suicidal thoughts all my life for various reasons, and they've amplified many, many fold recently. Even as I type this. Perhaps this is just me, but I find the idea of what lies beyond both appealing, and simultaneously a deterrent to acting on those thoughts. And reading across testimonies of survivors (as in, those who failed their attempts), it seems a lot of the times ideas of the beyond can govern behaviour...a lot of the times, people have distinct ideas and expectations. So, what do you personally believe lies beyond death? Is it just... Nothing? Like existing pre-birth? Or do you think there is something more/less?
