  1. As we all know, ATRL is... selective when it comes to praising male artists (as they should be), but Usher is an artist, who the majority of ATRL has been complimentary towards, however, his albums (bar Confessions) aren't really ever discussed on ATRL. Confessions always gets the spotlight when it comes to discussions on Usher's career, but 8701 is Usher's most personal album as Jermaine Dupri once said because the story of Confessions is relative to what was, actually, going on in Jermaine's life, at the time. 8701 is packed with hits and album tracks that deserved the single treatment. Plus, the aesthetics of the album packaging and its videos were just pure Y2K male R&B/Pop star, at his finest. The hits: The Grammy award winning 4-week Billboard Hot 100 #1 Lead Single: The 6-week Billboard Hot 100 #1 Second Single: The Grammy award winning Billboard Hot 100 Top 3 (#3) Third Single: The International Hit Fourth Single: Australia: #7 UK: #16 Netherlands (#27), Scotland (#31), and Switzerland (#22): Top 40 The Single-Worthy Album Tracks: The non-single-worthy, but still gems album tracks: We need more prime Usher praise on ATRL

    Winners and Losers of 1999

1999 was iconic as it was the final year not only of the decade, not only of the century, but of the millennium. Who was the winner of the year abd who gets the dishonorable title of being the final loser of the last 1,000 years?
  3. Why is she so iconic? Well, because she is Madonna. This is not something anyone could just release, espescially at her age, and during one of the most anticipated comebacks of her entire career. MDNA was definitely not a Ray Of Light moment for her, but she still served some quality bops, as always. It wasn't an easy time for her, because we as gays enjoyed Lady Gagas peak, but she still tried her best. Lets appreciate the two queens of pop, Gaga and Madonna, forever.
  4. Have you noticed this too? ATRLers don’t seem as obsessed to downplay things like duets and features anymore. I do notice the few that do only want to talk about solo hits though come from stans with faves that haven’t had a solo Hot 100 top 10 in over a decade which does make me chuckle ngl lol.
  5. For some reason Beyonce is not credit for “Telephone “ or “Hymn for the Weekend” on Spotify. I think Shakira is the most impressive considering how long she’s been out

  7. She is slowly ruining her legacy and turning into a greeting card announcer. Gurl for real if you really into it do it privately...
  8. It's probably nostalgia but pre-social media, music videos used to have story telling and not just beauty shots and poor lip syncing. Seems like the only genre that still adds story telling in their music videos is country music and kpop.
  9. ATRL told me no one knows who she is & no one listens to her How is she filling medium sized venues like the Armory in Minneapolis (8,400) last night? Discuss @Kiss It Better

    When stanning goes too far?

What are things stans do that shows they’re going way too far? Having childhood pictures of their faves in their houses, or their phone background. Personally harassing their faves family and friends, along with stalking them. Stalking, trespassing personal property, requesting photos when they are in public especially when they don’t want to be bothered. Taking photos of their children. Causing physical harm to themselves, others, and their fave for attention

  13. Kelly Clarkson came into the public eye as America's Sweetheart & the epitome of "The Girl Next Door" by winning the first season of 'American Idol' in 2002. It took a bit of time, but by 2004, Kelly was considered a bonafide musician who was no longer defined as "that girl who won 'American Idol'". Through 2017, Kelly released a number of albums, received award after award, and cemented herself as a juggernaut in the music industry. In 2018, Kelly joined 'The Voice' and is rumored to have earned $100M+ from her 8 season stint as a coach. 'The Voice' transformed Kelly's career and allowed her the opportunity to launch the wildly successful 'The Kelly Clarkson Show' in 2019. Although she sings like an angel on each and every episode, 90% of the songs are covers. So... is Kelly Clarkson remembered more as a musician or a TV personality who happens to be a great singer?
  14. About Dam Time is reaching new peaks daily. Now shes top 20 on US Spotify. Shes probably reaching a new peak in next days. Atrl told me she was over after Rumors freefall. I was told she was over. What changed? Are you suprised?

    Kelly Clarkson's Best Songwriting

I will probably get hate since it's a Christmas song, but Kelly really outdid herself on this one. If this song is any indication of what's to come for her proper divorce album, we are in for a world of emotions and depth! Also - the live performance of this song just tore me apart. Raw emotion Do you agree this is her best songwriting? But I know when Christmas comes around And the snow falls like a fresh start on the ground You aren't the one I'm missing, he left long ago But Christmas eve my gift to me is dancing with your ghost So Merry Christmas, to the one I used to know Once a year I let my heart go back to you and me A secret gift I give myself on Christmas eve If I could feel the memory instead of turning back time I know that the past is all that's left of you and I
