  1. A French cultural reset The fact that this even hit top 10 in the UK 20 years ago is impressive
  2. The way this performance gave the song a second wind if only she promoted more often

did ur fav discounted her #1s to 0.69 or 0.49 or 0.36 the week it went #1 ? or did ur fav released multiple versions of her #1s to go #1 week it went #1 ? ur fav organic or not? for GaGa all of her #1 singles was sold at FULL price the week her songs went #1 with only ONE version avalible. no remixes and other unnecessary versions needed to cheapen her record breaking global organic #1 hits how about ur fav ?
  5. I love Max Martin's ability to work with rather than for other artists. He can work with quite a few different kinds of artists and bring out some really great hooks that still feel like they're part of the artist's musical identity. It always feels like he's entering the artist's world instead of the opposite.
  6. Following his Coachella appearance where in one of the most rare moments of his career, The Weekend is supposedly teasing his weaponized sexuality persona, in which he has shown a more toned body and muscular arms, showing confidence in his sensuality. This is in contrast in the past when he preferred to be covered up. Is he signalling a comeback that will have him officially weaponize his sexuality, which the geepee and the gheys have been clamoring for? It is known that the R&B boys befors him ala D'Angelo and Usher were unafraid to express their sexuality through their bodies and art, so it is no surprise that The Weekend is following in their footsteps and differentiating himself from his peers. This new image might also signal a new sound ala Weaponized Pop. He has said multiple times that Blackout-the essential weaponized pop album-is one of his inspirations. So we might be seeing him explore a darker, bolder sound with militarized synths and productions ... paired with sensual imagery. Would you be here for it???
  7. I'm sure most of y'all are familiar with Shakira's brown two piece that she famously wore in the music video for her debut english single 'Whenever, Wherever' back in 2001. The sexy attire is definitely one of the most memorable looks in Shakira's long career. But would it be accurate to say it's an iconic pop girl outfit ? I was watching the MV on YouTube earlier and started wondering about this topic. Can pop stans let alone the GP easily identify the ensemble ? Does Shakira have more iconic outfits ? Has it stood the test of time ? Can it be put in the same vein as those well known pop girl outfits : Britney's red latex jumpsuit from the Oops music video Beyonce's black leotard from the Single Ladies's music video Madonna's cone bra Cher's yellow two piece outfit Gaga's red leotard with the hoodie from The Fame era Aaliyah's grey and black two piece outfit Britney's BOMT school girl outfit Miley's teddy bear bodysuit/beige latex two piece from the 2013 VMAs Gaga's meat dress Katy's California Gurls MV candy outfit Xtina’s leather pants + bra look from the Dirrty music video Kylie's white jumpsuit with the hoodie Madonna's white dress look (Like A Virgin) from the 1984 VMAs Rihanna's dress from Work MV Beyonce's Formation black dress with the braids and hat Katy's Superbowl two piece outfit (during California Girls) Shakira sporting brown low rise pants with a belt and a brown bikini-ish top while exploring Earth's natural wonders in the visuals for Whenever, Wherever. A simple yet very pretty look. It's an unsual outfit when you realize is Shakira wearing it while exploring the Earth's wonders lol. Have y'all ever seen someone use that look for a Halloween costume ? Has any celeb ever referenced it ? I think that would help answer my queston. You can now start discussing below !
  8. So I've noticed quite a handful of users here on ATRL claiming they used to be Lady Gaga fans but stopped being one for some reason. Surprisingly these people appear to be some of her most vocal haters on the website not missing their chance to drag their past fave at every opportunity. Why do you think these ex-Gaga fans are so full of hate towards her these days? What happened to these people?
  9. ATRL was told that Camila was coming for longevity this time, and seeing that Bam Bam is a 'global smasha', it's surprising to see that her album doesn't have enough streams to even chart in the top 20! What happened, ATRL? Were we lied to? Will Camila save the era by bundling the album with a non-existent tour (again)?
  10. Christina Aguilera disses 'she-male' Lady Gaga What do you say to those on the Internet who are hinting that you borrowed Lady Gaga’s look? "You know, that’s funny that you mention that. This person [Lady Gaga] was just brought to my attention not too long ago. I’m not quite sure who this person is, to be honest. I don’t know if it is a man or a woman. I just wasn’t sure." Christina Aguilera Slams Lady Gaga: “She’s fun to look at!” In the latest issue of Out Magazine, of which she covers, the seasoned pop singer made a jab at pop newcomer Lady Gaga when asked about her: Rivalry’s nothing new to Aguilera, but, as it relates to Lady Gaga, one might think comparisons to be especially odious. “Oh, the newcomer?” Aguilera chuckles. “I think she’s really fun to look at.” Christina Aguilera talks Gaga comparisons Christina Aguilera plans to stop by "American Idol" in May to give fans a taste of her upcoming album Bionic, but some who have heard the first single "Not Myself Tonight" have compared the new Aguilera sound to Lady Gaga. "It just comes with the territory. That, in particular, is not even worth wasting the breath to comment on," she told the Bert Show on Q100 in Atlanta Tuesday morning (April 20).
  11. In my opinion : Lemonade and The Debt of Pablo fake Tidal streams Dua stealing Prisoner despite being featured artist 1000+ BTS fans mass buying hundred thousand Butter digital downloads (not sure exact number but TOTC spilled the tea before but I couldn't find it anymore) Adele's 30 overshipped CDs/vinyl Taylor discounted a discounted Willow *
  12. A lot of people seem to think that the streaming era kicked off around 2016-2017 but I think we’re seeing the real fruits of it only now. It seems like with the rise of TikTok, people are only now discovering artists their catalogues and older songs. Just look at how Madonna’s streaming numbers keep rising. This might also explain the drought on the charts right now. People are listening more and more to older songs
  13. It's the least streamed song in Reputation (81,952,927) despite being Top 5 best songs in the album Stream it guys!
  14. Remember when she was on top of the world and the rest were just there watching her? What went wrong?
  15. She has a nice tone and could actually sing, dance and give good stage presence Not her having also done a tribute performance with Rih as well
  16. The new king and the queen of R&B/Pop, which successfully dominated the chart and showed some longevity, and ended up being R&B/Pop classic Do you agree?
  17. Post tragic album covers that looked like it was made on Microsoft Word using 1990s WordArt.

Is FLO about to take over?

This UK girl group is gaining popularity quickly after their debut single went viral.
  19. Karla Cabello

    Has me(th)! grown on you?

all this talk about lover being ts best record, but do you like its lead? i hated it for a long time, but now i think its kind of a bop
  20. You know when you stan someone for so long you take their discography for granted? I kinda feel like Human Nature got lost on so much great songs from Madonna...but with Twitter just discovering the song and realizing how great this is, i gotta ask: do you consider this song to be one of Madonna's best? We stans were complaining about her including this song 2 tours in a row back in 2008, 2009 and 2012...but maybe she was right...this song is probably as current and relevant as ever. Would be surprised if Tik Tok finds this in the future tbh...
  21. Wonderland

Best lead single for 1989 (TV)?

It seems guaranteed that Taylor will push Enchanted as the lead single for her Speak Now re-release which will undoubtedly give her another chance to challenge for her 9th Hot 100 #1. If she is to repeat this strategy when it comes to her 1989 re-release (and doesn't opt to lead with a vault track or a re-release of one of her classic #1s from the era), what song do you see her pushing to try achieve the era's 4th #1? Welcome To New York Style Out Of The Woods All You Had To Do Was Stay I Wish You Would Wildest Dreams How You Get The Girl This Love I Know Places Clean Wonderland You Are In Love New Romantics *I'm ignoring Reputation as the Getaway Car stans will win that one
