  2. Lover (s) also outstreamed truth hurts, old town road (all versions combined), I don't care and more. Why are Taylor's flop singles and random album tracks with 0 playlisting outstreaming smash hit from their respective year ? Is there an explanation for this ? Discuss

  4. Is it surprising that all but 1 album (Liberation) by Xtina are certified Gold or above in the United States? None of her peers have better stats from the late 90s; yes this includes greatest hits albums. Liberation will go Gold too in a few years guaranteed just fyi.

  9. Post some of your favorite songs that tell a story?!?!? Since I'm listening to my Ladies Night Playlist on Apple Music (A PL with a bunch of songs from female Hip Hop artists) I'm just going to post some songs from The Queen B 1st to start it out! Man Kim not only told a story with her raps but her bars & flow was so smooth right here ?? This is a CLASSIC right here and it wasn't even a single I love the fact that this song takes place inside of a court room wit both sides going back and fourth over a murder in front the judge??? back when The Rap girls was actually creative (and ORIGINAL) and everything wasn't about twerking and I'm the best ? This is real RAP I love when Kim gets in her hood bag and kick that hard street **** lololol Post from YouTube (pls so people can hear the songs in case someone may not be familiar with a certain song) some of your favorite songs that tell a story!
  10. 'Pop music is for children and idiots. ' Legendary Nirvana producer Steve Albini on 2SER Sydney Research proves what our parents have been saying all along: Modern pop music really is worse than older generations of pop music. Not only that, it has negative effects on your brain, too — if you're chiefly a pop music fan, you're likely to be less creative than any other kind of music lover. I personally enjoy a lot of pop music ranging from Gaga to Legendtina Aguilera, J.Lo, Beyonce, Madonna, Janet Jackson, Kelly Clarkson, Britney Spears, Katy Perry, Rihanna, Ariana Grande, Doja Cat, and many more. I don't really listen to much male pop music though except The Weekend, Backstreet Boys, Nsyncs first two albums, Michael Jackson, David Bowie albums here and there but its not really something I go out of my way to listen to. I also love this Billy Idol's Dancing With Myself. List some artists who you think may be responsible for this awful stereotype.
  11. Uhh what a treat t must be to see her live. Let's celebrate, a natural showgirl, Kylie's tours. My fave tour of hers is actually Showgirl 2005. The stage, the set list, her costumes ugh... Everything was perfect. What's your favorite tour moment from the legend?

  13. Would you accept? You receive 50000$ and your fav's career immediately comes to an end, no more new music, no more touring, no more social media presence.
  14. …between whose the better singer?
  15. Note: Mandy Moore and Alexis Bledel were in their 20s at this point so they don't necessarily have to be teens, just college aged or younger.

Kelly Clarkson Teases New Music Project

Discussed 0:01 - 0:24 The upcoming music project is most likely not: -The long awaited divorce album. I think she is alluding to it not being the divorce album by saying "I don't want to excite people. It's not maybe what people think" -9 to 5 duet with Dolly Parton. In this interview she mentions that she can't talk about whatever the new project is yet. The 9 to 5 duet has been announced, publicized, and discussed with Dolly on The Kelly Clarkson Show I think the project she is teasing is either a re-recording of certain RCA songs or a covers project - maybe a combination of both. There have been hints to both re-recordings of previously released songs & a covers album. In January, 2022 Kelly did a Q&A where the prospect of re-recording her songs was brought up. Based on her reaction, it seemed like a planted question and a hint that it was coming. (follow me on twitter, besties) Last year, Kelly's band was in the studio. One of her engineers posted a picture on Instagram of them recording a project called "Already Gone". Likely some kind of re-recording of her 2009 hit. Brooks and Dunn released a covers album a few years ago, and Ronnie Dunn revealed that Kelly was also recording a covers album. There are also been a few "insiders" who claim this type of project is coming too, but I won't post their receipts as I don't trust them. So... what do you think is coming? She mentions that this project is a bridge to another one. Hopefully it is the long awaited divorce album! I know Kelly is coming for blood on that album!

    Impactful literature in music

I'm currently kinda digging the way literature can impact music and artists, so I'm opening this thread for there to be posted examples of books/poems/etc influencing artists and/or their music. I'm starting with "Alice's Adventures In Wonderland" (1865) by Lewis Carroll, which enjoys of a very large influence met in music. Many artists have referenced this book in their work, some even taking it as theme. The Beatles, Tom Petty, Pink Floyd, Stevie Nicks, Gwen Stefani, Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Avril Lavigne are among the artists that have taken inspiration from it.

  20. What a great decade for music, and a huge inspiration for current artists that have made it part of the mainstream scene nowadays. Title is self explanatory. PLEASE AVOID WATCHING THE COMMENTS FIRST
