  1. With the BTW revival and Bloody Mary, Judas and Government Hooker simultaneously going viral, it’s clear what the GP wants from Gaga. Chromatica was a return to her TF/TFM sound, so it’s only logical her next project should be a return to the iconic Dark Pop that only she can pull off.
  2. I don't think Santigold was aware about the amount of EXCELLENCE she gave the world when she decided to release the timeless "L.E.S. Artists". Still feels so unique and fresh to me. I can say I hope it will be worth what I give up If I could stand up mean for all the things that I believe Nah, she snapped hard with those lyrics. By the way, just noticed that she's covering the Alternative 00s Spotify playlist.
  3. Apple Music just revealed the Year-End charts on the app. Oh My God is quite a hit on the global AM. And it seems Adele really is bigger there than on Spotify. I wish we got streaming numbers though.

10 years of "good kid, m.A.A.d city"

Kendrick's breakout album celebrated its 10 year anniversary last month but I don't think a thread was made. Let's rave about one of the most important, game-changing rap albums of this century and the start of Kendrick's legacy. What's your favorite song? What are your thoughts about it 10 years later?
  5. Even Liberation got Grammy nominations and she barely promoted that amazing album.
  6. since both songs are neck-to-neck to be the second most streamed song off Midnights Which one is better song, in your opinion?
  7. Janet

    Madonna - Erotica turns 30

what are your favourite moments from Madonna's best album?
  8. Ari is Mariah's heir JHud is Whitney's heir Even got approval from Mariah and Whitney themselves. Imagine if The Voice was still alive and we got a song by 4 of them all together the collapse that would be! It's not a coincidence that they sang their mothers' most iconic songs in terms of showing vocals
  9. MasterXPosed

    Did Bratz make good music?

A lot of songs they released were bops. What were some of you favorites? Post more below
  10. Madonna = Taylor Swift (cute self-titled mixtape with a couple of cute hits, becomes huge in the long-run) Like a Virgin = Fearless (huge breakout smash Diamond-certified album with iconic hits on it) True Blue = Speak Now (continues her success and solidifies her fanbase as one of the top female artists of the day) Like a Prayer = Red (expands her sound while continuing her success, considered her best album by most critics) "Vogue"/'The Immaculate Collection'/'Truth or Dare'/Blond Ambition Tour period = 1989 (the period of her absolute peak, the undisputed reigning Queen of Pop, HBIC of the entertainment industry, smash after smash) Erotica = Reputation (following a period of intense backlash, icier sound mixed with deeply personal lyrics, confrontational public image, a decline from her prior peak) Bedtime Stories = Lover (pivots from the last record with safer, warmer sound and image, trend-chasing producers i.e. Babyface for Madonna and Louis Bell for Taylor, produces one of her most memorable hit ballads i.e. "Take a Bow" for M and "Lover" for Taylor) Ray of Light = Folklore + Evermore (radical departure in sound from her previous work drawing from more underground producers and genres i.e. Orbit for Madonna and Dessner for Taylor, esoteric and pensive lyrics, more subdued, ambient sound, largely considered her most ambitious album and acclaimed by critics, gets her a lot more respect from the public and expands her audience, total image reinvention, quickly produces copycats as the producer she chose become mainstream i.e. everyone started working with William Orbit after ROL, now everyone is working with Aaron Dessner when before Folklore zero bodies were checking for him) Music = Midnights (the album that capitalizes on the previous respect gained from the last LP with a more mainstream-friendly sound, her highest first week sales ever, lead single is a huge global #1 smash and her biggest hit in almost a decade, this is the era during which she truly now feels like the QUEEN OF POP, highly respected by all and her success, longevity and ability to reinvent are now undeniable) This means her next album will be her American Life

Your Favorite Songs That Uses Samples?

This is mostly done in Hip Hop and R&B and if done right, it can really SLAP! Like when King Kombs & Kodak sampled The Queen B Post your favorite songs that use a popular sample? Below are some of my favorites off the top of my head. Rick Ross sampled Mariah (Can’t Let Go) and I must confess he straight BODIED this and MC sounds really good! Sza sounds really good over the iconic Ms Jackson production from The Legendary duo OutKast. That time The King of RAP sampled The Queen of Pop 1990 Hit Justify My Love. That time The Bad Girl and Khalid sampled Santana. That time The GOAT The Notorious B.I.G sampled The BOSS 1980 iconic hit (I’m Coming Out)
  12. can they? I'll start with the one and only
  13. Ny post inspired this thread because I am truly tired of Media and random people (I dont know are they bots under her insta posts) putting her mental health in question only based on INSTAGRAM POST. She didnt murder anyone, known to be abuser of any kind, didnt damage children or animals, didnt publicly offend anyone that didn't come for her first (and very mildy so), never stole anything. When you check what MEDIA is 'outraged' about is Britney showing her worked out (didnt even bought it so nobody can say she even promotes unhealthy or unachievable standard for women) body covering her nipples or pus. Body she was born with. I am aware other celebrities also post nude pictures, but media never questioned their mental health (which is serious, because if you do it publicly like them you are dehumanizing someone and ridicule them). Also, if someone is actually really worried for someone's mental health wouldn't the first correct thing to be ignore it or provide support in private. Opposite of writing articles someone is 'outraged'. Would things be different if Britney was a man or her enormous fame is the key? Example of another child star: macalauy culkin recorded himself with bunny ears and is posting 'unusual' posts, but media did zero impressions? https://www.instagram.com/p/B04MLVuA1ye/?hl=en
  14. As the title says anyone else feel like Gaga released Chromatica for the fans but not in a "gift for the fans" sort of way more like "Here but this is the last of PopGa!" sort of way. Everything felt so soulless and hollow compared to how she sounded on The Fame and Fame Monster. Her heart was really in it when she did Cheek to Cheek, Joanne and A Star is Born. But Chromatica just felt like a way to shut some of the fans up for those who wanted Gaga from the Fame/Monster era back. I mean even the collab with BLACKPINK felt so odd for a Gaga album? When she did songs like "Telephone", "Just Dance", "Love Game" etc. she really put her best in those songs. She didn't even try for Chromatica the only songs that felt like she tried were: Rain on Me, her duet with Elton John and Stupid Love.
  15. She has released 2 albums so far with several huge singles Her eras are nothing alike compared to most popgirls her label are so invested promoting her eras Her debut is a collection of standalone singles, but the cherry on top, she redeemed herself with New Rules, and new song on the album, IDGAF also reached 1B on Spotify and then her second era was a hit and miss at the beginning Don't Start Now slowly took off, but her album only debuted at #5 on Billboard 200. But with lots of hardwork, she managed to score hits to another hits, even the #1 Billboard Year-End chart with Levitating Now, predict how her next album will sound and perform on chart

  21. Every pop girl you can think of has released Xmas songs but so few have actually charted on the Hot 100, why? Literally Mariah, Xtina, Ariana, and Kelly are some of the only few who have.

    Should Targets Exclusive be banned?

I'm so tired of Target exclusive versions of albuns gatekeeping gems like these from streaming. Artists need to stop making deals with that store
