  1. Gorgeous song and video. A discography highlight!
  2. She was at her lowest, fat and broke - Try This flopped and she came on this mad as hell 3 years later in a rage and spared no one. The way this was a lead single and almost ended her career in the USA - it peaked at #13 on the Hot 100 but quickly dropped and made #96 on the year-end chart. 2010s or 2020s Pink would never take a risk like this as a lead single From YouTube Comments: This song isn’t insulting girls just because they change themselves, it’s insulting girls who change themselves just to get attention from men. It’s encouraging girls being true to themselves and what they really want. To understand the message of this song you need to know about what was happening at that moment, beauty was about being extremely skinny, eating disorders were just a way "to lose weight", etc., this song was so powerful back then because girls used to think they weren't beautiful if they weren't extremely skinny, so they would just do things to get famous, it didn't matter if they needed to have eating disorders or to do "stupid things" just to be famous. That's what the song is about, so please stop saying this song is judging women because it's not. It's okay to be girly, I think this video is just a reminder to make sure you're doing it for the right reasons. Don't throw away your personality/ambition, especially to become some guy's object. If you wanna be a girly girl, she's not saying to not do that, it's when you start doing different things to be pretty and to attract guys' attention. Just be yourself, strong and independent. Don't dress, act or look a certain way for other people
  3. A highly anticipated album, everyone talked about it like it was the best thing ever, pop/dance yet she didn’t make the top 10 shook?

  7. That’s right… The real Queen of Indie Pop was delivering perfection left and right Fun facts: Minogue and long-term collaborator and friend William Baker designed the clothing for each character: Sex Kylie, Cute Kylie, Indie Kylie, and Dance Kylie. Each character represented a different appearance and persona; Baker labelled Sex Kylie as a “Drag Queen” with a "bitchy" attitude and "slutty" appearance. Dance Kylie had, according to Baker, an "irritating frothiness", while Cute Kylie had violet-coloured hot pants and a bra. The outfit for Indie Kylie, which was red three-quarter pants with a high-collar shirt, was inspired by Star Trek films that was assisted by British fashion design, Pellicano. The video was a "fun" way to portray her media images throughout her career. Regarding her "Indie Kylie" phase, Minogue commented "I don't mind being labelled Indie Kylie, I've had so many labels, but labels are a bit silly because I'm so many things, we all are."

Fads of 2022, what were they?

What won’t make it to 2023?
  9. Only name songs actually certified please. Xtina has had 2: PMM and Santos
  10. It’s been something I’ve been think about a lot this past week. With Xmas songs gaining stronger holdings on the chart and their impact coming a lot earlier this year then previously, I feel like label will steer away from releasing so close to the holidays. At least for major acts because they want those top 10 debuts 10 years ago, this was the HOTTEST time for new releases. Black Friday was a major thing, but all that has changed which has been a fascinating phenomenon to witness and now with Sza releasing her highly anticipated sophomore album this week, I can’t help but wonder what the damage could’ve been had she just waited til January or maybe I’m just overthinking it

  13. No other person has so many hits with it's name on it... 25 numbers #1 hits on billboard (6 debuting at #1), 2 Grammys for AOTY, almost 30 years of career and still producing so many smash hits, and still I don't see enough people talking about him, why do y'all think? Let's look at some of his greatest hits... 1998 – "...Baby One More Time" by Britney Spears 2000 – "It's Gonna Be Me" by NSYNC 2008 – "I Kissed a Girl" by Katy Perry 2008 – "So What" by Pink 2009 – "My Life Would Suck Without You" by Kelly Clarkson 2009 – "3" by Britney Spears 2010 – "California Gurls" by Katy Perry featuring Snoop Dogg 2010 – "Teenage Dream" by Katy Perry 2010 – "Raise Your Glass" by Pink 2011 – "Hold It Against Me" by Britney Spears 2011 – "E.T." by Katy Perry featuring Kanye West 2011 – "Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)" by Katy Perry 2012 – "Part of Me" by Katy Perry 2012 – "One More Night" by Maroon 5 2012 – "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" by Taylor Swift 2013 – "Roar" by Katy Perry 2013 – "Dark Horse" by Katy Perry featuring Juicy J 2014 – "Shake It Off" by Taylor Swift 2014 – "Blank Space" by Taylor Swift 2015 – "Bad Blood" by Taylor Swift featuring Kendrick Lamar 2015 – "Can't Feel My Face" by The Weeknd 2016 – "Can't Stop the Feeling!" by Justin Timberlake 2019 – "Blinding Lights" by The Weeknd 2021 – "Save Your Tears" by The Weeknd and Ariana Grande 2021 – "My Universe" by Coldplay and BTS

  15. Basically any popgirl who isn't Madonna, Janet, Mariah, Whitney, Celine, Beyonce, Rihanna, Taylor, Katy, Gaga, Ariana, Dua, Olivia, Billie, Doja. Disregard personal issues they went through and just take the artist with foresight as to what will happen if they did what they did in our universe. Personally I would love to see a Demi Lovato whose career was not going haywire every now and then. She did everything right up until Tell Me You Love Me. She didn't maximize that era to its full potential, Sorry not Sorry was a smash hit, TMYLM shouldve had more push, she shouldve attempted to take over Selena's role in the EDM hook girl space around 2016-2019, Instruction. No Promises and Echame La Culpa were great and she should've done more collabs to establish her LatAm and European presence. A droplet era with more No Promises would easily help her rule alongside Jess Glynne the Euro market. Assuming she gets multiple global Top 10s with DJs, she's established her European and Asian presence at that point, a pivot to a more European pop sound to prevent Dua Lipa establishing a hold on US soil around 2019. Give her a disco era, she has the diva vocals to pull it off. Also if possible lessen the belting and establish that she is a great vocalist, not a loud one (this was what made Ariana so palatable, she could scream if she wanted to but her peak eras were all about how beautiful her tone was). Demi had the most promising rise to MPG status since she has the rasp of Miley, softness of Selena's vocals but with the added bonus of being able to flip between those sounds, she can do rock while also do soft ASMR vocals and that's why I feel sad seeing how irrelevant she's become compared to her peers.
  16. *This is not a hate thread* I'll start: Selena Gomez: She has a beautiful tone , and her melodyned studio vocals sound deliciously good for radio. She has perfect vocals for pop music: sultry, soft , she carries the melody so well. However, when it comes to singing live.... Without the stereo adlibs , the melodyne and a relaxed environment she's pop poison.
  17. Before the release of Charmbracelet, Carey experienced a year of critical, commercial and personal struggles, following the poor reception of her debut film Glitter (2001) and its accompanying soundtrack, as well as her subsequent hospitalization. Carey's 2001 film debut Glitter was panned by movie critics, and earned less than eight million dollars at the box office. Carey's $100 million recording contract was bought out by Virgin Records for $28 million. Carey checked into a hospital in Connecticut, following a controversial appearance on Total Request Live, in which she gave ice cream to fans, left troubling messages on her website and demonstrated what was considered by the media as "erratic behavior". Carey said she had an "emotional and physical breakdown." After the hospitalization, Carey flew to Capri, Italy, where she stayed for five months and began writing and producing material for a new studio album about her recent troubles. She was signed by Island Records, and started her own imprint, MonarC Entertainment, for her intended "comeback" release, Charmbracelet. It debuted with 241k sales in its 1st week, debuting at #3 on the Billboard 200 and was certified platinum. Through The Rain is still that masterpiece
  18. Rushed released to streaming services and 7th time Latin Grammy nominated and 2022 pop traditional vocal album winner 'AGUILERA' released by Ecuadorian pop princess Christina Maria Aguilera missed the Billboard Latin year end charts of 2022. Also, the official released singles Pa Mis Muchachas, Somos Nada, Santo, La Reina, Sueltame, No Es Que Te Extrane and Cuando Me De La Gana are nowhere to be found on the hot latin songs chart. https://www.billboard.com/charts/year-end/hot-latin-songs/ https://www.billboard.com/charts/year-end/top-latin-albums/ Do you guys think that it's because its physical copies are now expected to drop on June 2023? https://www.amazon.com/-/en/Christina-Aguilera/dp/B0BHJB8X3T/ref=sr_1_1?__mk_es_US=ÅMÅŽÕÑ&crid=3NO3JL2B7P17J&keywords=aguilera&qid=1670079389&sprefix=aguile%2Caps%2C344&sr=8-1&language=en_US I was told the album hasn't been released officially so perhaps we can expect it to destroy the 2023 YEC charts? Let's discuss.

Coldplay's A Head Full of Dreams Turns 7

Adventure of a Lifetime was one of their best leads. HFTW turned into a massive smash everywhere. Up&Up became the band's most awarded song. AHFOD Tour solidified their status as stadium forces. All of this 15-17 years deep into their career, whew
  20. Judas Government hooker Bloody Mary all went (more or less) viral this year with BM stomping (2.3M today on spotify yesterday). So what song off the album of the decade should be introduced to Gen Z and become the new viral sensation? Vote and DON'T keep it cute!
