base talk Post MPG's who's voices are Pop candy in studio but sound awful live
mlaredoperez posted a topic in Base
*This is not a hate thread* I'll start: Selena Gomez: She has a beautiful tone , and her melodyned studio vocals sound deliciously good for radio. She has perfect vocals for pop music: sultry, soft , she carries the melody so well. However, when it comes to singing live.... Without the stereo adlibs , the melodyne and a relaxed environment she's pop poison. -
Before the release of Charmbracelet, Carey experienced a year of critical, commercial and personal struggles, following the poor reception of her debut film Glitter (2001) and its accompanying soundtrack, as well as her subsequent hospitalization. Carey's 2001 film debut Glitter was panned by movie critics, and earned less than eight million dollars at the box office. Carey's $100 million recording contract was bought out by Virgin Records for $28 million. Carey checked into a hospital in Connecticut, following a controversial appearance on Total Request Live, in which she gave ice cream to fans, left troubling messages on her website and demonstrated what was considered by the media as "erratic behavior". Carey said she had an "emotional and physical breakdown." After the hospitalization, Carey flew to Capri, Italy, where she stayed for five months and began writing and producing material for a new studio album about her recent troubles. She was signed by Island Records, and started her own imprint, MonarC Entertainment, for her intended "comeback" release, Charmbracelet. It debuted with 241k sales in its 1st week, debuting at #3 on the Billboard 200 and was certified platinum. Through The Rain is still that masterpiece

base talk 2022 Latin Grammy Winner 'AGUILERA' N/A on Billboard Latin Year-End-Charts, Thoughts?
SinnerCity posted a topic in Base
Rushed released to streaming services and 7th time Latin Grammy nominated and 2022 pop traditional vocal album winner 'AGUILERA' released by Ecuadorian pop princess Christina Maria Aguilera missed the Billboard Latin year end charts of 2022. Also, the official released singles Pa Mis Muchachas, Somos Nada, Santo, La Reina, Sueltame, No Es Que Te Extrane and Cuando Me De La Gana are nowhere to be found on the hot latin songs chart. https://www.billboard.com/charts/year-end/hot-latin-songs/ https://www.billboard.com/charts/year-end/top-latin-albums/ Do you guys think that it's because its physical copies are now expected to drop on June 2023? https://www.amazon.com/-/en/Christina-Aguilera/dp/B0BHJB8X3T/ref=sr_1_1?__mk_es_US=ÅMÅŽÕÑ&crid=3NO3JL2B7P17J&keywords=aguilera&qid=1670079389&sprefix=aguile%2Caps%2C344&sr=8-1&language=en_US I was told the album hasn't been released officially so perhaps we can expect it to destroy the 2023 YEC charts? Let's discuss. -

Adventure of a Lifetime was one of their best leads. HFTW turned into a massive smash everywhere. Up&Up became the band's most awarded song. AHFOD Tour solidified their status as stadium forces. All of this 15-17 years deep into their career, whew

Judas Government hooker Bloody Mary all went (more or less) viral this year with BM stomping (2.3M today on spotify yesterday). So what song off the album of the decade should be introduced to Gen Z and become the new viral sensation? Vote and DON'T keep it cute!

America: She has America in a chokehold. She broke every record possible. Asia: She holds the record for the largest spotify debut by ANYONE in Asia beating out global juggernauts like BTS and Blackpink. Europe: She holds the record for the second biggest spotify debut EVER in Europe only behind Ed Sheeran's Divide which was MASSIVE. Midnights also went #1 in more European countries than Adele's 30 who is said to be the most global artist ever. Latam: She holds the record for #1 spotify debut in Brazil. Also top spotify debuts in LatAm: #1. Un verano - Bad Bunny #2. YHLMQ - Bad Bunny #3. El Ultimo - Bad Bunny #4. Midnights - Taylor Swift Oceania: Taylor holds the record for the top spotify debut. Anti-hero and Midnights enjoyed a uninterrupted 5 weeks at #1 despite new releases by local and global artists like drake. Africa: Africa is the only country she underperforms and that can be explained by the flourishing local music scene. Thots? Surprised?

People on here said I was trolling, lying, and cheating when I posted this thread: - Chartmasters Most of AGUILERA’s sales come from the US. Therefore it’s almost 2x Plat+ already. It already surpassed Platinum awhile ago like I said.

I've seen countless times threads being made in a way that are trying to not let ASIB era being included with foolish excuses like "what was the last studio album of your fave that went multiple platinum" and etc. Why ATRL is afraid of ASIB era? Is it because it's an album with songs written from Gaga, sang from Gaga, performed by Gaga, used for a movie in which Gaga performed them and was the leading actress that was enormously praised and this causes them to panic? base talk Beyonce/Rihanna have never worked with Max Martin. Surprised?
Tropez posted a topic in Base
Max Martin is essentially a music titan, he has worked with almost every major pop artist. And has pretty much dominated the music industry since the 90s. But to my knowledge, he has never done a song with Beyonce or Rihanna. The thing is, neither of them actually needs the other. They are all extremely successful in their own right. But at the same time, they have almost worked with everyone. -

What I mean by traditional pop girl era: More singles beyond the one I think this is the last pop girl era that had 7 singles. Taylor promoted the heck out of this album, now pop girls just abandon the era the moment it's on a Spotify

In the past few years, former Disney Channel girls of the mid 2010s have found significant success in TV, movies, and music. Will this be the end of it or will it inspire Disney to try to revive Hollywood Records to what it once was, push their artists more into the mainstream, and start to produce more new shows for Disney Channel?
