base talk Mariah faces backlash from retail workers, petition asks regulator to ban her song
Brishka posted a topic in Base
All They Want For Christmas Is to Stop That Mariah Carey Song Retail workers are dashing through the store—to the stock room, to hide from merry holiday tunes that just won’t end. “Enough is enough,” says Mr. Graham about Mariah Carey‘s mega hit, “All I Want for Christmas is You,” which plays incessantly at the Chicago deli where he works. “Past a certain point, I might go crazy,” he says. When Mr. Graham, who is 19, hears Ms. Carey crooning, he turns on an industrial fan and stands under it. Kiyah Coleman, who works at an appliance store in London, seeks refuge in a stock room to avoid Ms. Carey’s hit. “As soon as I hear the intro, I say ‘Oh god,’ ” she adds. At least three petitions on Change.org seek to sleigh Ms. Carey’s 1994 holiday hit, “All I Want for Christmas is You.” One begs the Federal Communications Commission to ban it from radio and calls it “the bane of shoppers, retail workers and pedestrians.” A representative for the singer declined to comment. Laura Garrison, the general manager of Stoneleigh P, a bar in Dallas, forbids Ms. Carey’s song before December. https://www.wsj.com/articles/mariah-carey-all-i-want-for-christmas-song-shopping-retail-11670857012?mod=Searchresults_pos1&page=1 -

base talk Taylor legally pressured Olivia to credit her on Deja Vu. Why?

Does Taylor feel threatened? Or is she in the right for this one? Discuss but keep it cute! -
I know MPG is such an outdated term but it refers to female artists who transcend multiple genres and are essentially very popular to the point that they dominate the market every time they release. They dont have to be all on the same level of success nor are they on the same genre of pop but all exhibit a level of dominance/POPularity many of their peers could only dream of. Examples of active MPGs: Taylor Swift, Adele, Lady Gaga, Ariana Grande, Dua Lipa, Olivia Rodrigo, Doja Cat, and now SZA! After debuting with massive numbers, constantly debuting Top 10 and is projected to sell north of 300k, a number most artists can only ever dream of, is SZA now a member of the coveted group MPGs?

I been saying for a while now that GaGa is bored with Pop music and U can tell by the quality of her last 2 studio albums. An artist like GaGa who is really talented and creative shouldn't be chained to one genre ... when she's a lot more than just Pop/Dance Pop. I think she should do a Rock/AC album and I been saying this for a while! She has the voice to pull both off and the GP seems to really love AC Gaga (Shallow, Million Reasons) I'm one of them too. I enjoy her AC songs like Shallow/MRs much more than I do her poppy songs like Stupid Love/ROM and I can see her SLAYING Rock too! She should incorporate both on her next album and go full out with an entire band and everything and look the part too! Maybe she can even call Metallica, Mick Jagger and Lenny Kravitz to help her with her sound and direction. Her performance with Metallica was EPIC and I really loved The Rock version of Shallow she performed at The Grammys (2017 & 2019) What do U guys think? Could LG pull off a Rock/AC album? Gaga let me A&R your next project we'll F'n KILL it ?
