base talk So...an unreleased Madonna song is starting to go viral on Tiktok
tiagol88 posted a topic in Base
I swear this woman has the worst luck with Tik Tok Her team will take months to notice this. One day she will have another viral hit that's actually released already, lmao. It might not even catch on but it's looking promising. -
It baffles me that this album is constantly her most-played one on Spotify. I get that the aesthetic and the mood had its moment, but compared to her later work it's just so immature and undeveloped. There are some good songs on there, but it's by far her album that I revisit the least now.

base talk Selena changes “my” for “the”, gets a writing credit, surprised?
BadBoy posted a topic in Base
Gwen Stefanie’s version of The Heart Wants What It Wants leaked completely and we can notice the only change was a “My” for a “The” And what’s funnier it’s that Selena claimed she wrote the song when it came out. It’s not the first time she got caught lying tho, when the song Rare came out she also claimed she wrote the song but once the demo leaked we could tell she wasn’t part of the writing at all. -
Are there any songs you've heard somewhere & you tried to look it up with the little lyrics that you remember but you never found it? Do you know how any of it goes? Like a lyric or the beat of the song? There's this one song that was playing at the end of my middle school graduation YEARS ago . It was a heartfelt mid-tempo ballad released in 2007. Think it might have been an Omarion or Mario song but still think of it to this day Also, this year I almost let Bombastic Love slip away after I heard it playing at a hookups house. I knew it must have been Britney but wasn't sure it was. I'm not a hard-core Britney Stan but BL is THAT bop (the sped up rock version tho ). I spent hours streaming BOMT and Britney just to find it and damn did I feel like a millionaire when I did

Who are some R&B artists who missed out on potential pop hits from their albums? Jazmine Sullivan has a few, but these would’ve been such big pop hits: (This would’ve fit right on the radio with California Girls in 2010) (Future Nostalgia resembles this so much. Dua even sounds like her in the second verse) (This would’ve been all over pop radio in 2014-2015)

Gaga's whole career has been a love letter to pop music and the icons that shaped it. Who do you personally think had the most impact? Post receipts I personally think she was most inspired by Michael Jackson. She got the long-format videos and fixation on macabre themes from him. She also has worked with his producers in the past and snatched up his old musical director for her live shows. Gaga also owns a huge archive of his clothes/costumes and literally wears them out. Most recently The Chromatica Ball's stage was a clear homage to Michael Jackson's last tour w the stage being made to look like an imposing stone structure. also probably where she got the idea it was okay to collaborate with a certain somebody on do what u want and the idea to work with Jeff Koons around the same time who's 2nd or 3rd most famous work is a statue of MJ Keep it cute, none of your favs are original.

base talk Has The Fame Monster changed pop culture like Thriller did in the 80s ?
MoonGoodandHappy posted a topic in Base
Has The Fame Monster changed pop culture like Thriller did in the 80s ? I mean when Bad Romance was released, it was an instant shook in the world, pop music was boring af and Gaga revived it. After this era, every pop star begin to make big music video, and visuals. She changed the mind of people, what was considered like "weird" is now normal and artistic, changing people's perception of what's sexy. She opened the mind of people. "I'm changing what people think is sexy" https://www.standard.co.uk/lifestyle/lady-gaga-i-think-i-m-changing-what-people-think-is-sexy-6402210.html She changed a lot of things, but was it a change like Thriller did in the 80s ? -
“Check On It,” from Destiny Child’s #1s compilation and used as the end credits theme for The Pink Panther, was released 13 December 2005. The song began a five-week run at number one on the Hot 100 in February 2006 and went on to become the year’s tenth-biggest hit. Beyoncé can ignore the song all she wants, but it is still a classic. Happy 17th Birthday to this gem.
