  1. Euphoria, the diss track in which Lamar responses to Drake's most recent diss track "Push Ups", dropped yesterday. The song was met with mixed responses, in which some people accuse Kendrick of using homophobic stereotypes to "diss" Drake. There's accusations of misogyny as well regarding the lyrical content of "Euphoria". This recent article by the Guardian mentions a few low blows on the diss track, in which they accuse Kendrick of being homophobic in his diss. Full article: https://www.theguardian.com/music/2024/may/01/euphoria-most-brutal-moments-in-kendrick-lamar-drake-diss-track Do you agree that the song was unnecessarily homophobic?
  2. Calling each other gay on every single one of these diss tracks. Like, shut up and get a room.
  3. I had burnout from Dua Lipa with Future Nostalgia reissue, but with the current rollout performance of the three singles and the streams(plus i actually love the album moreso than FN since im more into chill vibey music and These Walls >>>>), it feels like she's my best kept secret sauce artist and I'm so happy because it's not like a Taylor post-folklore-to-TTPD situation where she's too big where it's annoying
  4. Let me preface this by saying I've had to drown myself in Xanax this entire week. My fave, Karla, is sitting on a smash. A smash I tell you. And it can't be released due to a rap feud between to grown adults. No one wants to wake up to that news. Karla has been through so much. Constant bullying from her former band mates, label sabotage, bad management, contrived scandals and now this. When will it stop for her? Can she ever, will she ever win. I've decided I can no longer be a part of stan culture, I can't sit here and watch my queen get constantly sabotaged, I can't enjoy the music because of the constant worrying. My kidneys can't take another pill to cope with this. I wish Ms Cabello the best of luck in her future endeavors but this is the end of the road for me. I am shredding the stan card.
  5. So many fantastic albums and singles from pop girls Gwen, Britney, Gaga, Nelly, Katy, Madonna, Rihanna, Beyonce, Fergie, etc.
  6. Justin Timberlake's Can't Stop the Feeling was the best-selling single worldwide of 2016. Surprised?
  7. Is vacanza-pop going to be a big trend in pop music? It's shaping up to be more of an emerging trend. Vacanza pop has a breezy, summery vibe reminiscent of vacation. Conceptually it evokes a more carefree state of mind with a summer vacation aesthetic. We've seen artists like Janelle Monáe and Miley Cyrus adopt this imaginary for their 2023 albums 'The Age Of Pleasure' and 'Endless Summer Vacation'. Now Dua's new album also plays with the same breezy and summery themes in her latest album. Do you think vacanza-pop is shaping up to become a bigger thing in music after the whole nu-disco trend of the early 2020s? Do we see a trend emerging or is it just a coincidence.
  8. Lemme start Jack Antonoff (Always the Same production tricks. Always recycling ideas ZzZzZ. Always the same basic Synthpop) Oren Yoel (Urban producer makin a Country Record) Pharrell (Amazing songs and genre experimentation from Shakira but the production feels a bit cheap/like demos/songs badly cutted) He was good with the Neptunes but some of his pop productions definitely feel very simplistic-amateurish. Shakira was not the only victim of Pharrell Your turn. Post yours

    Beyoncé vs. Jennifer Hudson

Who was vocally better in this performance?
  10. This means when she abandons this era - "I'm Not Dead" is coming P!nk had her biggest smash era in her sophomore era with Missundaztood while Dua had hers with Future Nostalgia Their 3rd eras were not commercially successful with "Try This" being a 90% decline for Pink - and it's looking like Radical Optimism is following suit Thoughts? Houdini was her "Feel Good Time" Training Season was her "Trouble" Illusion was her "God is a DJ" Her "Last to Know" is coming!

Your 5 favorites albums of all time ?

    My favs of all time are : 1 2 3 4 5 Whats yours ?
  12. I've been thinking a lot about this in relation to Dua's Radical Optimist era. She followed the traditional album rollout like a rulebook: it was a six month long promo campaign with 3 singles, remixes, live versions, playlisting. She performed in every award show, went to every TV show, internet show, podcast, Tiktok, several magazine covers, red carpets, new boyfriend. She played every move there is to play. And yet... nothing. Of course, there is something to be said about the music itself which is lackluster and did connect with audiences. But I feel like back in the day, the promo and strong rollout could at least get you a decent first week and a top 10 hit. When we look at the recent most successful eras from mainstream stars, most of them had very little promo. Can we say that the traditional album rollout system as we know it is obsolete? Does it have more to do with the specific artist and the music? What is the best way to go nowadays?
  13. And when i say solid i mean it, like going all in, without caring about charts or sales and just give us those dark, sophisticated, cult spooky, campy bops The current queen of Halloween is Kim Petras, Gaga should make a Turn Off The Light ON STEROIDS It might not chart on the H100 but if quality is delivered people will stream it for decades to come during Halloween Imagine this with Gaga's vocals from Scheiße:

    Is Euphoria Drake's Shether?

After the back to back lashings of The Story of Adidon, Rick Ross' recent mess, it truly feels like Kendrick LASHED Drake in the most unexpectedly lethal way — similar to how his YMCM labelmate/second bad ***** competitor Nicki Minaj got hit with Shether. Is his Shether or actually, even Ether moment here? Although he will never comeback with something like a Takeover
  15. shyboi

    this is PEAK Beyoncé

I don't think she has ever looked better than this the eyes, the fierceness, the hair, THE BODY, the attitude when they are chanting "c'mon, c'mon, c'mon, c'mon" and she gives the dancers that cvnty side eye i got CHILLS is this movie actually good? i really want to watch it
  16. What's the plan? what's the MOVE? how do you save Dua Lipa?
  17. Considering he was name dropped by Taylor and got people talking a little bit and releasing a collab with K-pop group Stray Kidz next week will his first single in almost a year be a hit? I think he may have the opportunity to have his biggest debut on spotify global if his team gives him good playlisting. What do you think? His last single "Lipstick" debuted with about 750k streams globally, prior to that "Thats Not How This Works" debuted with 1.2 million streams. His biggest solo debut is Light Switch with 2.7 m
  18. Everyone talking about the numbers, irdgaf, let's take a moment and talk about the MUSIC Can we take a moment and APPRECIATE the artistic growth she's made when it comes to choosing album closers? This is MILES AHEAD of Boys Will Be Boys and Homesick. This is a BEAUTIFUL moment, the reference to Anwar
  19. Two timeless tracks, Spice Girls' "Goodbye" and Avril Lavigne's "When You're Gone," stand out as dignified pop ballads, frequently chosen to accompany final goodbyes. "Goodbye," penned as a tribute to their departed bandmate Geri Halliwell, carries a tender resonance, its lyrics a bittersweet ode to loss and gratitude. Conversely, "When You're Gone" marked a pivotal shift for Lavigne, unveiling a more vulnerable and mature facet of her artistry during the Girlfriend era. Both songs, despite their differing origins and contexts, share a common thread of emotional depth and sincerity. As mourners seek solace in music's embrace, the choice between these two masterful compositions poses a poignant question: which resonates more profoundly as the ultimate funeral pop ballad?
  20. In the last 10 years, Shakira has focused on Spanish-language music. This has brought her huge success and has allowed her to remain relevant even with new competition like Karol G, Rosalía, and Becky G, but I feel like it has turned her into another local america's star when she's more than that Releasing collaborations with the trendy reggaeton artists and predictable music to make hits. Also, Shakira has lost a lot of power in Europe and other parts of the World because Spanish-language music is only successful in the majority of the Americas-The States. Is harder for Spanish songs to get top chart positions in Europe-Asia-Africa-Oceania If y'll check karol g is massive but her songs rarely chart big in Europe Non-english music also get less hype from the American Media-Stan Community Honestly, I miss Shakira's English music a lot. In Spanish, we already know what to expect from Shakira (reggaeton, bachata, Mexican....). But in English, she used to be more inventive and always explored new things-experimented with her songs. It gave her the opportunity to explore more territories, to be more edgy. More intellectual too Sadly so many in the Anglo world are not appreciative of her english music. Yll pay her dust. I know her latest songs in English weren't good (Dont Wait Up/Dont You Worry/Girl Like Me), but you have to consider that they were made by very bad or mid producers: William (Britney Jean/Manjobi) Kirpatrick (Matches By Britney/Radical Optimism/Sixteen By Ellie Goulding/Look at Her Now by Selena/You By Miley Cyrus). Honestly, I feel like Shakira should drop the rock and electropop She's too focused on those worlds and they dont bring good things for her commercially wise Shakira should go back to world music songs-latin cocktails in English (most of her hits are ). Also, explore more R&B, Arabic music, and dancehall. Disco music too The sound-vibe of the "She Wolf" album. This is the direction her career should take?? Agree with me or not? Are u here for Shakira going back to english? Is Shakira limiting herself releasing music in only one language? Imagine Shakira career without Whenever Whenever-Hips-Waka Waka-She Wolf.........
  21. i love the chemistry all of them have
