A month and a half ago, Dua Lipa released the highly anticipated single for 3-week-old 'Radical Optimism', "Illusion". After hanging to the chart by a thread at the 150-200 positions for the past week, the inevitable happened: the song completely exited the expansive chart. In this thread, we shall skim through the various efforts & budgets that were made to push the song in multiple departments, that have all FAILED to assist the track make the chart despite being such a recent, still highly playlisted release. As a given for a Dua Lipa single, the song debuted instantly at #1 on TTH including the playlist cover - the 35M-followed, biggest playlist on Spotify. It was also instantly sent to pop radio upon release. The song also dropped with a high budget MV featuring an exotic setting, engaging video effects, a large crew of dancers & other expensive props, most probably costing Warner a ton She then took the stage at SNL to perform the song And then at BBC ... and at more places etc, most recently at the TV-broadcasted Time 100 Gala less than two weeks ago, being introduced by THEE Kylie™ 3 weeks ago, its parent album 'Radical Optimism' was released. "Illusion" remains the most recent, currently active single as "These Walls" was aborted and shortly pulled from TTH after showing early but obvious signs of tanking. As of recent, "Illusion" is still enjoying brand new efforts for a push, as Dua Lipa has released a "London Sessions" version of it with a brand new visual just last week. As of today, the song is still on TTH at #29, and since it is not even in the top 200 of the Spotify global chart, it has to be due to some heavy lifting coinage from Warner. Its overall playlist reach as of today is 117,231,887, which is massive and not far behind the actual current pop hits of the moment topping the chart. So, ATRL, why?

I ask this question because it was strange to me how DC was snagging top ten hits back to back and was everywhere but wasn't as popular as Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera.
