    Where is Loreen!?

Good sis had a huge european hit, but the song has peaked by now and is leaving the charts. Where is the new music!? Her tour starts in less than two months, why isn't she capatilizing on this big moment?

  3. Before I start this thread, I wanna make two things clear: 1. This is not an OGH circlejerk thread or hate thread against Gaga. She’s one of my main faves. In fact I welcome all Little Monsters to participate in this discussion and give their views on the matter 2. Before people comment ‘arts not the charts’ I put charts in the title because it’s easy but what I mean is how Gaga can make her projects be more consumed by the GP. At the end of the day numbers DO say a lot about the popularity of your project. ______ Gaga, in the modern era atleast has failed to produce a true streaming force album like a Ctrl, Future Nostalgia, Midnights, Scorpion, Un Verano Sin Ti, Sour, etc. The closest we have is ASIB, but even that album is already five years old at this point and it’s streaming numbers are still decent but not enough to have it be a constant presence on the Spotify charts or the BB200. Gaga has a tendency to debut very high but fall really hard after. I wish this was different because I like having Gaga be in the public’s mind, be really beloved again and to have her feel like people are still rooting for new music from her. I feel like it would make her excited as well, to feel rewarded. My question is: why is this the case for Gaga? Is it the quality of her music, is it herself? What are the factors contributing to this and how could she change these? Feel free to discuss and please keep it civil!

  5. On her track "the grudge" "I have nightmares each week about that Friday in May One phone call from you and my entire world was changed" "Ooh, do you think I deserved it all? Ooh, your flower's filled with vitriol You built me up to watch me fall You have everything and you still want more" "Trust that you betrayed, confusion that still lingers You took everything I loved and crushed it in between your fingers And I doubt you ever think about the damage that you did But I hold on to every detail like my life depends on it" "And I try to be tough, but I wanna scream How could anybody do the things you did so easily?" and more https://genius.com/Olivia-rodrigo-the-grudge-lyrics

    Spotify: constant Updates Saga

Does anyone have a theory why Spotify is constantly updating with new interface and few days later reverting back to previous settings? It's happening all the time. I actually really liked the last one where new music and options are in the left top corner. But today, it's back to previous ones. Whyyyy?
  7. Is this performance a vibe/sample of JFAD?? Because the performance has a tint of darkness/ unhindgeness -- especially her dance moves....idk maybe its just me. What I can say its that her dance moves captivates me and even if they look awkward are not cringe provoking...the vibe its interesting

    Sugababes 'Flatline' appreciation thread

Produced by Dev Hynes, and written by the girls along with Hynes, Flatline is an uptempo, sunny R&B-tinged pop rock song reminiscent of the work of HAIM, Teagan & Sara, and various other indie pop bands from the same time. It describes a relationship going sour, with the protagonist bidding her lover goodbye knowing this isn't how things were supposed to be. I discovered this song a few years ago when the Sugababes re-released it under the proper Sugababes name instead of the uninspired Mutya Keisha Siobhan moniker, but it was only recently that I became obsessed with it. What a brilliant, breezy little tune, and what a perfect comeback for the 1.0 line-up as well as for the Sugababes in general after the disastrous Sweet 7 era (Wear My Kiss and About a Girl are still major bops though). I think this song has aged incredibly well, and could come out today virtually unchanged and feature on a dozen or so critics' year-end lists. Very excellent mix of poppy catchiness with indie poignancy and R&B soulfulness, the vocals are absolutely divine on this one. If you haven't heard it yet, I must implore you to do so now. If you have heard it already, what do you feel about it? Did it do the Sugababes justice or was it a miss for you?
  9. Despite playlisting, TTH placement, a high budget (2 MILLION DOLLAR) music video and heavy radio interview promotion (Hot 97, Breakfast Club etc) — Cardi B’s brand new lead-single is out of the top 150 on Global Spotify chart. #151 (-52) What do you think caused the unprecedented underperformance of the WAP follow up?

  11. https://pitchfork.com/reviews/albums/roisin-murphy-hit-parade/ The Irish artist’s full-length collaboration with DJ Koze is a showcase of everything impressive about the musician sapped of the excitement that has historically made her work feel so vital.

    Who Is The Talent Trinity?

    Who are they?
  13. This is the first VMAS in a very long time where we’ve had actual, big names and trending celebrities attend that were NOT Tiktok/instagram influencers. From Taylor Swift, Selena Gomez, Nicki Minaj, Olivia Rodrigo, Nelly Furtado, NYSNC, Cardi, and more, I can’t help but feel excited for a slither of beef Did Nicki Minaj save the VMAS? I also have no idea where to put this thread so mods can feel free to move this to where you see fit
  14. Taylor won multiple VMAs over Olivia. Is this just further proof of her dominance? Or does the VMA’s just not understand art? Discuss

  19. She comes from a random city in Southamerica named Barranquilla. No affluent wealthy parents backin her up, no strong industry-connections de nacimiento like other latino-anglo stars , No hitmakers or writing camps and no large industry like the United States one... Colombia in the 90s was real dangerous and violent. Yet, she managed to find a way to survive in the biggest metropolis of her country and climb there, knocking doors, avoiding being dropped after two initial flops and fighting for her career. She eventually broke through in the Latino market with a guitar and poetic lyrics. No gimmicks. Only Art and talent. Even when she was called Ugly,Fat,Weird and with no fashion sense by the harsh Colombian Media Then she achieved the impossible-unrealistic international crossover that propelled her to become a worldwide superstar and sustained herself for decades. Before Social Media-Tiktok-Streaming payola. "serving Xena the princess warrior" (Her childhood-teenhood apartment...) Is Shakira a Miracle of the Music World? Like what are the chances of someone with all these disadvantages gettin that huge? and rivaling American-British stars? She's been side-to-side in the charts with some of the larger stars from the Planet. We can count on one-two hands the non-English-speaking successful Megastars Are u Grateful to experience the music of this Livin Legend? Are u ready for her next album announcement? How long should be the album? why we dont have a release date yet? she had like 5 hits already? are u angry like me? Do you want her to stop being lazy and record more english bangerz with arabic undertones? or maybe a collab with Drake-The Weekend-Jb-Bruno Mars-Jt or someone like Doja Cat? Are u Watching the VMA'S Tonight and giving your love to this Goddess? Is Shakira an unique type of artist in this planet? Do you think that in the coming years, from some corner of the developing world-emerging countries, another star as remarkable as Shakira could emerge and turn as big as the American Stars? or she's One in A Lifetime? One in a Million?
