  1. She’s on the cover of ALL the new music playlists but only debuts at #10 on the Global Spotify and multiple tragic positions in other countries. What went wrong??
  2. I remember when I was young, 4-10 years old, my family and I listening to a lot of The Black Eyed Peas, Nelly Furtado, Coldplay, The Mamas & the Papas, some Michael Jackson, and many other popular 2000’s pop music. What kind of music did your parents listen to when you were growing up, that may have shaped your current music taste? Oh and my mom love/loved Boy George and George Michael
  3. Who else dropped bangers this Friday?
  4. Typically, movies are distributed globally by studios. The studios take 55% of the film's total earnings leaving only ~10% for the theaters during the first week. After being frustrated with negotiations between the studio and her team, Taylor decided to directly contact the CEO of AMC, promising 43% of the profit stays with the theaters while the rest of the 57% is shared between Taylor and AMC. This risky strategy paid off handsomely, as seen by the $37 million in ticket sales from the first day. This is Marvel-levels of slayage. No other movie comes close. In comparison, this is the first week ticket sales for a smash movie by a pop girl post-pandemic: HOUSE OF GUCCI $14.42M 3-Day Weekend (Actual) $22.01M 5-Day Weekend (Actual) $22.01M Total (North America) The domestic gross for the Eras will be 100M+ for the opening weekend. Now that there is a precedence for a movie smashing all box office records with NO STUDIO distribution behind it, the people behind SAG & WGA strike can use this to leverage during their negotiations. This also shows that there is no need for traditional studios to still have almost all the power in the film industry. This is bound to anger the people working in a studio. She will soon be directing her own film under Searchlight pictures. Do we think the studio personnel in the film industry will boycott her movie during production process, festival circuit, awards conversation and other related activities? https://www.indiewire.com/news/box-office/taylor-swift-the-eras-tour-amc-infuriates-studios-1234901227/ Thots? 5. https://www.instagram.com/reel/Cwg2VyCpg56/?igshid=MzRlODBiNWFlZA== Why is the audience almost always the loudest during reputation? Is this what unique & timeless art tend to do?
  6. I think we are kinda in a point of no return where the discussion makes not sense anymore .We have 20 pages threads about her private jets from stans and their faves....have private yatchs and private jets () . We have stans calling her capitalist and their fave are...capitalists who have bought islands, have private jets and own 47 super cars () I mean what't the point of all at this It's like we are on pure stupidity discussions now and things are going on just because without anything to say anymore. Meanwhile Yougov, the biggest survey association in the Uk, every year makes his awaited list of the most admired people in the world (they ask to more than 50k statistically selected people all around the world) and Taylor is alwayys upon the most admired and respected humans beings in the world. Are they too much cronically online? Or the People really admire more their U-N-I-Q-U-E socialists faves with 5M dollars full of diamonds watches ?. Makes me think!.

    Sabrina Carpenter, what went wrong?

Sabrina Carpenter is very pretty and talented. She's been serving visuals and choreo with Fast Times (if Dua Lipa released this song it would've been a hit) and Because I Liked A Boy, but the views are tragic and radio won't play her. She got better video views prior to the Olivia/Joshua drama (her music was better then, but her new songs are decent). Skin was her first song to chart on Hot 100, but still didn't do much, and she hasn't been able to top it chart-wise with any of her following singles. Even Dove Cameron got a top 20 viral hit recently, why can't Sabrina?
  8. In recent years, Doja has seen unprecedented and well earned success, pretty much cementing herself as a MPG and cultivating a unique channel of her own brand, humor, delivery, performance and eccentric lyricism. Her visuals are unmatched. Online antics aside, her music is universally consumed, she's smashed streaming records, she's a GP darling and is generally well appreciated in the industry. I literally can't name one of her peers that has had a negative thing to say about her, much less any that have expressed the need to "compete" with her and what she specialises in. Which is why I'm having trouble processing this sudden switch-up and attempt to "rebrand" as a "rapper". Let's break down the lyrics of Demons. One could presume "Demons" is in reference to her accepting and wielding her inner "demons" as a strength. That's personal. It makes sense. It's relatable & general. The song also goes onto express her newfound material wealth. That's great, standard. She's talking her ish, as she should, as everyone does. Now... Embarrassingly elementary lyrics aside, who is she referencing? Why are we suddenly to believe that Doja has this "arch nemesis"? Who hurt Doja? It feels like she woke up and thought "hmm, rappers have opps, I should rap about opps". Again... who are these "lots of people"? I understand she had some online critics saying things like "stick to pop", "she's not a rapper" etc. But I don't see how anything she's put out would assuage that minority to now have a change of heart, nor why she'd bother feeling the need to prove something to them. No one has questioned Doja's ability to "rap", she's just genuinely always had the fortune of not being limited to a "female rapper" category. I fail to understand what she's attempting to "prove" & why she considers the enviable position she's in, to be a negative or something she needs to fight against, when others would kill for the spot she occupies? Nothing about this "I'm a real rapper rebrand" feels... earned? Nothing about it feels genuine. Doja has not struggled as a female rapper - she came out swinging and was welcome with open arms as an alt-gen z, internet culture, meme star and fashioned that into the massive star she is today, who's been afforded the freedom to play in any genre she wants, unquestionably AND successfully - already. So who is this for? The track isn't "rap" enough to so confidently stand behind and reintroduce yourself as a "rapper", nor does she have anyone or anything, besides online trolls, to have to "fight" against. Her lane was so solidified, she wasn't truly "competing" with anyone, either. Like, no one is actively suppressing her, bar the fan-drama she instigated herself. There's no "battle" here. Is this feeling like cosplay & wholly unnecessary, to anyone else? MIMS.
  9. What an iconic chart run - to spend its first 4 weeks at #2 only to go #1 2 months later - insane! 2-2-2-2-5-4-3-3-1
  10. Until now, YouTube Music was safe from the YouTube comments feature. Will this social engagement feature allow YouTube to snatch users from the other services? Will Spotify et al add a comments feature in the near future?

    Brazilian feminist k-pop girl group

It is kind old, but gold. They were k-pop fans and did k-pop covers and went on to form a group. This is their biggest hit and not long after that they disbanded (I think). I really enjoyr the lyrics Lyrics: "Let me tell you my darling I'm not obliged to do anything I do what I want and I do it my way I don't care about your opinion Let me tell you my darling If you want to have fun, just be on board Just don't try to stop me Cause tonight I want to dance I didn't know him, he got the nerve To come on to me, trying to force me I told him to get lost! Get outta my way! He thinks it is easy, he is wrong I'm not an object that you can win You have to ask me really nicely You have to have a smooth approach You have to be "good boy" Then, who know, I might even consider Chorus x2 I am the boss of my life I don't own you **** I am the boss of my life I am not oblidge to doing nothing If you didn't get it first, I will repeat I'm not obliged to do anything I do it my way, I only do what I want I don't give a **** about your opinion! Bridge/Rap Just stop it little boy Because now I will lay it nicely for you I'll speak my mind, so u better seat! I wasn't born to endure all this sexism quiet All of that **** makes me angry I demand being respected! I have news: the world is not about what u think I don't know how u could think that Because I sure don't choose my clothes based on you You guys judge my clothes when you see me walking by But you go out without a shirt and no one seems to give a damn! I arrived at the club together with my girls When a sneak mother fucker was coming on too strong With his hands on my waist, talking close to my ears WTF? Did I gave you permission to talk to me? I am so ******* tired of this kind of loser That thinks he can do everything They don't get it when we say no It is about time for them to learn To respect my limits Then we can be at the same place Hashtag Respect the Girls Chorus
  13. With all the talks of her facing backlash and addressing these things in all of the songs released thus far, is it safe to say the GP is against her ala Taylor in 2017/reputation?
  14. I mean, come on, hate her or lover, nobody's doing it like her. Miss maam is stomping on the competition. She's breaking records left right from singles and album sales, streaming, tour and now box office records. At this point, we should seriously exclude Taylor and the Swifties in every atrl stan wars because our faves would look silly when compared to Taylor's numbers, just sayin. Thoughts?

…because WE are streaming once, twice, three times!

    Mad Woman (Appreciation)

We love her when she’s in her side-A reputa element.
  18. Azealia has certainly had her moments of controversy and has said some unpleasant things throughout the years, but nonetheless her sharp wit, numerous bangers, hilarious and messy takes and successful Cheapyxo brand has kept her in the limelight and on the tip of ATRL's forked tongue for many a year. The time has come to put down the pitchforks and accusations of ______phobia and say something pleasant about "212" rapper Miss Banks.
  19. 1. Nightride - Tinashe 2. The Naked Truth - Lil' Kim 3. Currents - Tame Impala 4. Honeymoon - Lana Del Rey 5. Wildheart - Miguel
