    Why pop music is dying

A really interesting video Thanks TikTok and short attention span What are your thoughts?

    Is ‘Seven’ fraudulent?

When Flowers came out everyone was questioning its numbers and calling it a fraud but I feel like most people know the song and it’s the biggest hit this year. Now, Seven by latto & jungkook has been smashing on global Spotify and is still #1 despite several releases from big artists and it’s still pulling big numbers like +7M stream on its 45th day AND on a Sunday and I feel like nobody knows this song.. lol I certainly have never heard it. How come nobody is questioning this?

    Is Katy buying likes ?

Katy perry's last few twitter posts about shoes have received a lot of twitter likes. But I don't see anyone discussing it anywhere. Is the queen of organic vinegar using inorganic tactics to stay relevant ? https://x.com/katyperry/status/1701768176772784199?s=20 https://x.com/katyperry/status/1699190648988111251?s=20

    Times when critics were wrong

Metacritic score: 64 (instead of the 20 it deserves) Metacritic score: 52 (deserved at least 65, definitely more than MDNA got) Metacritic score: 78 (A cute album, but a 78 is a bit much... 66 would've been more appropriate) Any other examples?
  6. Today would have marked Amy Winehouse's 40 birthday One of the most talented and influential artists in contemporary music, let's remember Amy for the incredible music she gave us in her short time here
  7. No chart talk/discussion please, music not the bling Now that we have all spent a few days with Guts, what are your thoughts on it. Have you listened to it yet? Is it what you expected based on the singles and the artwork? Did she surprise you positively or disappoint you? Will you be tuning in for OR3? Personally I love BIR? and Love is Embarrassing, which are 2 different but fantastic pop songs. BIR gives Bad Liar vibes kinda. The ballads, especially lacy and logical are good too. All-American ***** is a fun intro. I hope she keeps exploring some new producers for her next album, and although she loves her rock influences, I'd be perched for a pure pop album by her tbh
  8. Let’s talk about B’Day’s second single. A monster track that isn’t much talked about in regards to Beyoncé’s discography as a whole. This week mark’s it’s 17 anniversary.
  9. i forgot to make the thread yesterday buuuuut.... released on 13 September 2013 this trailblazing album would become the biggest DJ album of all time with multiple hits, including Wake Me Up dragged upon its release due to its bluegrass leanings, the album blends multiple genres such as EDM, country, soul, disco, house to create one of the most forward thinking albums in EDM history
  10. So many examples of that strategy that backfired. Xtina, Katy, Cardi, Nicki… FN is soon going to be 4 years old, the last single from that era was released in March 2021. She debuted in 2015, but only released 2 albums since then. Do you think Dua is safe or she should move faster?
  11. Gaga's fans (e.g., Little Monsters, Liddos, KatyCats,...etc) were an absolute force back in her prime and the fans had something to be excited about (what will she wear? What's her next MV? how weird will she get?..etc) Now it seems miss Gaga is doing many random things without a clear vision and I can't help but to feel her overall "Gaga" brand is getting weak. She's now chasing Oscars, Vegas shows, and random projects that no one really asked for. Also, this might be the longest period between her pop albums (Chromatica was released 3 years ago with no signs of any album coming soon) Some her of biggest fan accounts on Twitter have closed their accounts as well (no interesting news anymore I guess?) Discuss
  12. When I first heard chemistry, it wasn't love at first listen, but through countless spins, it has become one of my favorite Kelly Clarkson albums. Now that we've had the album for a few months, I'm curious to see your thoughts. Here are some of mine: Vocally, Kelly is unmatched on this album. She has only continued to sound better and better over the years. The vocal production has never sounded better or more authentic to how she sounds live. A big thank you to Jason Halbert! Kelly's songwriting stands out. For many years, fans have been yearning for an album with more content written by Kelly herself, and it really works on the album. She's is just telling us how she feels. Many of the lyrics (lighthouse) feel like lines taken out of a diary. Her songwriting has really grown over the years, and it shows on chemistry. Amid the sadness, bitterness, and anger a lot of this album carries, Kelly isn't afraid to have some fun. At first, the the ending of the album seems a bit odd - i hate love, red flag collector, and that's right. These songs are almost jarring upon the first few listens because they are so left of center compared to the rest of the album, but in the end, it's what helps bring the album together. In these songs, she is almost joking about what a dumpster fire her life has been. The lyric You can keep Gosling. i'll Keep Steve Martin" comes to mind. These closing songs give a nice, new perspective to the central theme of the album. Our discussion comes just in time for the release of chemistry deluxe on September 22nd and roses (first single from the deluxe album) this Friday!

  15. Her music fails in the same spot as Xtina - "in Britney's shadow" Personally, I don't agree with this, Xtina inspired generations with her voice and Music.

  18. Room 25 is the debut studio album by American hip hop recording artist Noname. Recorded in about a month's time, the album chronicles the two years since the release of Noname's debut mixtape Telefone, most notably her move from Chicago to Los Angeles and an intense, short-lived romantic relationship. Room 25 was entirely produced by Phoelix, who previously worked as a producer on Telefone. It features guest appearances by Ravyn Lenae, Smino, Saba, and Phoelix among others. The album was self-released through digital services on September 14, 2018. The album was met with universal acclaim from music critics, including veteran critic Robert Christgau, who later named it the fifth-best album of the 2010s.
