  1. Released as the followup single to smash lead "Roar" of the iconic Prism era. It was teased as a wedding classic and Katy's favorite track of the album Despite being a 2nd single, Dark Horse was doubling the sales of Uncondtionally during its single run, and struggled to enter top 10 of Pop Radio while Dark Horse entered Pop Radio with unsolicited airplay. It eventually peaked at #14 on the Hot 100 - becoming Katy's first single to miss the top 10 in almost 5 years since "Thinking of You" and ruined her streak of 9 consecutive top 3 hits and 10 consecutive top 10 hits. It currently has over 500M streams on Spotify and 600M+ YouTube videos and is certified 2x Platinum Looking back, did it really deserve to underperform?
  2. If Sky Ferreira hadn’t seemingly retired from music would Lorde and Lana have been impeded from their current statuses in pop culture? Would Sky have ended them?
  3. Steal popgirls songs you wish your fav owned and was the one to release it. I wish Bleeding Love by Leona Lewis was a Mariah Carey single and was released after Touch My Body which would have given E=MC more sales and success
  4. -A Golden Globe nomination -A Critics Choice Awards nomination -A Screen Actors Guild Awards nomination -A Film Independent Spirit Awards nomination -Los Angeles Film Critics Association Awards win Did J. Lo deserve an Oscar nomination for one of her most critically acclaimed roles to date?
  5. I have noticed that a lot of artists are releasing songs that around/under 2 mins 30 secs lately. Is it a trend? What do you guys think about it? For me, the moment songs start to pick up, it suddenly ends. Good examples are "Speed Drive" by Charlie XCX and "Barbie World" by Nicki/Ice.
  6. Released as the lead single of Folklore, the lyrics depict how Furtado was discriminated against as her record company wanted to hide her ancestry: "Paint my face in your magazines/Make it look whiter than it seems/Paint me over with your dreams/Shove away my ethnicity". Furtado also commented on gaining strength through the things that are truly important, saying that "real power comes from not caring about power and just letting yourself be free" and affirming that it is "good to have balance in life". It won "Single of the Year" at the 2004 Juno Awards aka Canadian Grammy's, and was a top 10 hit in Canada, Netherlands, Austria and Germany, top 20 hit in the UK and Switzerland and peaked at #109 in the USA. The video has yet to be available on her official YouTube channel
  7. I mean look at the material.. This is what lorde should still be making . The entire album is practically skipless and she deserves to blow up. Thoughts?

Why did Eras Tour Film underperform?

Projections were expecting it to pass the century mark and it failed to do so. What happened?
  9. In the almost 20 years of her already legendary career Taylor Swift has been recognized for her music legacy and artistry (first female and only 4th artist to win AOTY at the Grammys 3 times) and her massive impact of course on charts but also in the music industry rules and policies. One of the aspects she has been focused more in the last years, when in the others already cited areas is almost impossible to even get bigger and more impactful, was trying to create a legacy in the live performance field can put her in the same zone of the others greatest. If music critics already called The eras tour one of the best produced and esecuted pop shows of all time it's not different for movie critics. The Eras tour has been receveid with incredible acclaim and Swift craftship has been unanimously defined of absolute top level. From the reviews Alonso Duralde Those not already versed on Swift showmanship are likely to come away very impressed Ross Bonaime a tremendous concert film. Swift is a powerhouse as artist, musician and performer. Lina Das Unless you're a devoted fan concert films can be a dreary experience but the sheer spectacle end energy of Swift concert are enough to convert the most rabid anti. Peter Howell the energy on display is astonishing as it infectious. Mike McGranaham Stands with Talking Heads Stop Maing sense and Prince Purple Rain in capturing what makes a specific artist special. Peter Sobczynski Some rock stars struggle to make the charisma of their live appareances show up on camera. Not Swift Angie Han What a concert is...Swift creates the best pop experience you can get Dallas King One of the most immersive concert films ever shot. Joey Magidson an electic despiction of a performer and artist at the top of her game. Kevin EG Perry a modern pop stars at the top of her powers Tim Grierson so many hits, so many memorable set pieces, so many peak moments.
  10. The mere 2015 received this massive bop, but it feels as is it would’ve been a major smash if released in the past two years. Was Foxes ahead of her time with this future nostalgia blueprint?
