George R. R. Martin is the author of Game of Thrones, who hasn't finished the book series which has upset book readers for over a decade now. The last book was published in 2008. Rihanna has delayed a new album for 8 years now and counting and has been teasing music since 2019. Her fans are in a similar predicament as fans of the book series. Is Rihanna the musical equivalent of George R. R. Martin?

I don't think I've seen a thread dedicated to this electro-pop masterpiece. Oh Ilya, the excelent producer that YOU ARE. One of my favorite Tove Lo songs, and it probably has to be one of her very best. I swear something takes over my body when the 2nd chorus started, holy freaking ****. The drums DRUMMING so hard Words can not describe how perfect this song is!

To some, there are certain albums that came at a time in their lives where said albums defined a period of; feeling, change, inspiration, etc. Which albums defined/changed you and why? There are (so far) five albums that I vividly remember came at a time that made a profound impact in my life. Pure Heroine, Lorde (2013)- changed the way I listen, view, and appreciate music. Made my closeted self think more about my loneliness and future. Melodrama, Lorde (2017)- same as PH but in a broader lens. Rainbow, Kesha (2017)- as a die hard Kesha fan, this triumphant return inspired me in a big way. Golden Hour, Kacey Musgraves (2019)- having never been a fan of country music, I gave it a listen after its Grammy wins and was completely blown away. folklore, Taylor Swift (2020)- this came at such a confusing time for everyone, especially for me. I was in a deep depression with many things in my life going wrong, this album helped me get through some of those worst times. There are many more albums that impacted me and some might be "better" than these listed, but as any music fan will know only certain ones can keep you company during a time of need.

Her comeback after two years hiatus and in the middle of her breakdown... For me it was so different than her previous release, it is mature and seductive. The heavy edm-pop base throb banging against her thin, sultry voice is an eargasm... "Gimme More" still sounds fresh to this day, before we know it, the song is a classic and a pop masterpiece. I can’t speak for anyone else but I absolutely detested how coverage of entertainment was resulted in the term “snub” being to go to phrase for omissions. Why? I genuinely can’t understand this, did it just because the easiest for SEO? Why is the Today asking Michelle about them? Why is Anthony Anderson discussing his own snubs on late night? Actual snubs happen once about every 10 years or, not when something that folks expected* * not even expected, wanted to happen. Why is Iron Claw suddenly snubbed for the Oscar’s despite not being actively campaigned, or nominated at any precursors? We may as well call M3GAN, The Flash and Sound of Freedom amongst the biggest snubbage of the day. Should look into the actual definition - — “intentional rebuff, ignoring, or spurning disdainfully.” An actual snub implies and involves actual malice behind the thinking, or intentional exclusion. And in the past 10 years I have followed awards, only two instances spring to mind. Jennifer Lopez in 2020 for Hustlers, where several academy members (incline 1959 nominee Terry Moore) stated she and her friends aren’t voting for her because she a talentless starlet who would tarnish their organisation’s reputation. Beyoncé at the Grammys, where members have gone on record about how she is talentless hack who can’t compose; uses genre manipulation to win; and relies on other people work instead. And despite themselves claiming she and the best album of the year, she’s already “got enough, we don’t need to see her win and again her ego doesn’t need any more trophies”. And in the case of Barbie, can you even call those director and actress omission “snubs”, Gerwig made a blockbuster which the directors branch (who votes on the awards) hates with a passion unless your going to win Best Picture (Titanic, Return of the King, Oppenheimer). Any one who follows awards for 2 minutes could see that coming a mile away. James Cameron and Joseph Kosinski all received the same precursors as Gerwig last year for their billion dollar films, where was the outrage for their snubs for saving the entertainment industry? Do the Oscar’s overlook the alleged good work in favour of alleged bad or mediocre, yes. But that’s snubbage. Having bad taste, or liking five other potential candidates more, or failing to perceive good work, that is collective mind hive gathering toward the mean, because that’s what happens when you ask 10,000 to vote, a consensus draws towards the middle. Thots?
