base talk Why couldn't Adele keep her momentum like Taylor did?

Did the GP realize she kept releasing the same songs again and again? -
To be honest, nearly all pop girls who are known to write songs are guilty of coming up with repetitive melodies, but then again, it is like a proof that they really craft their stuff. So, to answer the thread title, I nominate Shania Twain because hers, while also similar from time to time, are quite catchy. It's crazy she has so many hits with just 4 albums (excluding the ones after her longggg hiatus) HOWEVER, MAYBE HER LONG-TIME WRITING PARTNER IS ACTUALLY THE ONE BEHIND THOSE GENIUS MELODIES. Next nominee is my all-time favorite Mariah who is obviously quite playful with melodies but she tends to repeat the same riffs in several of her hits like Dreamlover, Fantasy, Heartbreaker, and Loverboy. Mariah indeed is a melodic singer-songwriter, but her insistent use of sparse production interferes with her melodies especially in her 2000s albums. Another singer-songwriter in the similar vein of Shania Twain is Avril Lavigne. Thoughts? I made this thread because I've been thinking of Taylor who obviously is a good lyricist but has become very repetitive with melodies.

base talk Shaboozey about to enter the Top10 in the US (Spotify) - Beyonces impact?
Kristie Kuwa posted a topic in Base
Lets discuss. Prior to the Beyoncé collab on Cowboy Carter, Shaboozey was pretty much a no name and now he is about to enter the Top10 in the US with his new song. Is Beys impact real or just a myth? -

In the ever-flowing river of time, it's time we take a reflective pit stop and reconsider our treatment of Ellen DeGeneres. Remember when we collectively hit the cancel button on her? Yeah, that was a moment. But let's zoom out for a sec. Ellen's always been there, dishing out love to our faves and redefining what it means to be an LGBT icon. She's basically the cheerleader of the rainbow squad. So, as we scroll through our mental timeline, maybe it's time to ask ourselves: Did we go a tad overboard with the public persecution? Are we ready to extend that olive branch and say, "Hey Ellen, sorry about the whole backlash thing"? And hey, maybe the GeePee should join in on the introspection party and recognize that, hey, maybe we all overreacted just a smidge. Just food for thought.

Did your fave get a mention

Name them! Bonus question: Can an album be called remembered if most of the streams come from one song? In my very important opinion, I’d say no.

base talk Taylor is the only woman destroying the male competition. Why doesn't ATRL support?
Diesel is Desire posted a topic in Base
Taylor Swift is the only woman who can pull the numbers she is pulling, destroying forces like Drake, The Weeknd, Ed Sheeran, and Bad Bunny. Why doesn't ATRL support a woman finally being able to destroy the male-dominated industry? Is it misogyny? -
The lambs don't talk about this song much. Every once in a while I come across this and can't imagine the 'anguish' Mariah was going through at that time. This is much better than the atrocious 'Bye Bye' and lyrically better than 'One Sweet Day'. The lyrics are so heartfelt and most importantly not pretentious. The melody is divine. The vocals are honest.

Despite some moderately successful singles, Radical Optimism seems to be a heading in the direction of a slight decline from Future Nostalgia's massively successful era, which has lead some to believe Dua has entered her "flop" era. That being said, this podcast host seems to think it's rather beneficial for Dua to have a flop era as it will help her rally up her fanbase to defend her against the constant pessimism (B side album title?) Were points made? Discuss.

In 2008-2013 Gaga had a unique edge to her that made her different. She was full of mystery, aura and wonder that made her legendary until she went too far. Instead of going back to the edge she had, she decided to strip everything back and be basic while other pop girls were able to benefit from having the edge she once had. She tried to blend in with the crowd and appease them but it did her music career no favours and just made her sales stall low for her past three studio albums. If LG7 ever comes out, will she be brave enough to follow through artistically or will she continue playing it safe and bland?

This is better than I Am...Filler. Also Irreplaceable, Beautiful Liar are some of her signature singles and much better than the popular annoying ones like Halo & Single Ladies

so, in the early 2010s/2000s, there was a song called "Send It On" by Disney's Friends for Change (Miley, Selena, Demi & the Jonas Brothers) and now with the new Disney stars breaking through (Olivia, Sabrina, Dove, etc), would y'all live for a new version of it but with the new Disney stars?
