base talk Rolling Stone: Taylor Swift and Jack Antonoff have reached their limit
KatyPrismSpirit posted a topic in Base
Out of all magazines, Rolling Stone suggests that Taylor and Jack should consider parting ways as they have reached their limit of collaborating. The article reveals that their work together has been "drained". Mind you they literally just said Tortured Poets was a instant classic in a 5/5 star review This magazine is just unserious -
base talk Will Taylor surpass Adele's 3.48M first week sales with her next album?
1000 forms of queer posted a topic in Base
It's absolutely insane that she's able to pull those numbers in 2024. She's literally the music industry. It reminds me so much of how Adele was running the industry back in 2011-2016 with 21 and 25. Do you guys think Taylor will be able to surpass Adele's 3.48M first week debut with her next project? -

They are the most generic male pop of the 2010's. There's generic pop like Katy, Cascada and then there's LMFAO. LMFAO came and went literally

base talk Emails I Can't Send Rising on BB200 to #67 (+43). Surprised
Walk_Away21 posted a topic in Base
This so called flop album is climbing fast with acclaim as Espresso continues to rise. Espresso is not contributing to these numbers, and she is rising despite the Taylor album bomb and being 2 years old. Are you shocked, fuming, surprised, or happy? -

base talk Billboard's 100 Greatest Songs Of 2004: #1 Toxic, #2 Since U Been Gone, #3 Yeah
Anticipating replied to Hector's topic in Base
https://www.billboard.com/lists/2004-songs-best/john-mayer-daughters-2/ What all the above endorsements add up to is that "Toxic" has seemingly become Spears' most universally beloved song, using her already-established superpowers (the unmistakable breathy vocals, her magnetic onscreen presence and flawless choreography) and adding an electronic pop sound that put a legend who could have been forever linked to the '90s instead at the forefront of top 40's new frontier. The results were anything but toxic, but they were still definitely lethal. – K.A. Toxic, the smash that you are -
base talk Does Taylor purposely puts something addicting to her songs?
Angelo posted a topic in Base
I was so unimpressed when I first listened to TTPD. I kinda agree a little bit with some of the negative reviews. Now, I can't sleep because these lines keep repeating in my head…. "And who's gonna hold you like me? (Who's gonna hold you, who's gonna hold you?) And who's gonna know you like me? (Who's gonna know you?)" Earlier when I showered… I frantically sang these three lines on repeat: "I'm so depressed, I act like it's my birthday every day I'm so obsessed with him but he avoids me like the plague I cry a lot but I am so productive, it's an art" At work, I was humming to: "And I love you, it's ruining my life I love you, it's ruining my life I touched you for only a fortnight I touched you, but I touched you" and "I've been calling ya but you won't pick up Another fortnight lost in America Move to Florida, buy the car you want But it won't start up 'til I touch, touch, touch you" There are also instances today where I just randomly blurt out lines like: "Did you really beam me up?" "You look like Clara Bow…" "So Long, Londonnn" "I am hmm mm recent events" (Humming the melody of "The Black Dog") What in a mind control is happening 😂. Are you experiencing it too? Additional: Now I'm down bad crying at the gym Everything comes out teenage flatulence is my new Starbucks lovers. -
Dua had Levitating on the album the last time. Does she have gem hidden on the album?

base talk Taylor to outsell Mariah in Luminate/SoundScan (US) pure sales.
Aethereal posted a topic in Base
Taylor Swift sold a total of 48M albums according to Luminate and her new album will sell 1.8M just this week so it is only a matter of years that she will catch Mariah 57M pure albums according to Luminate (formerly known as Soundscan). Some 2 or 3 million albums of Mariah's debut are missing since the sales track started in 1991 but it's still impressive. There is no doubt Taylor is the biggest female artist of the country.- 15 replies

There's been a lot of talk on here lately about OTHs. I've noticed this on X too. Supposedly they're jealous of her pure sales and her streams, and because she's the modern day Shakespeare. The majority of Swifties say she's either on her way to becoming/already is the biggest artist of all time. What I don't understand is, why do TS fans get so upset when other people don't enjoy her music, why do they feel personally attacked as if they are TS herself? As a Swiftie, do you feel unsafe and scared for your life by openly being a fan? Or is there just a sense of immaturity amongst her fan base and herself that makes them all less receptive of criticism than other artist's and their fans? So many questions, discuss.

base talk Katy Perry's image rebrand takes a tumble (Swifties win again)
SmittenCake posted a topic in Base
Katy Perry fans had the opportunity to leverage the TS hate and concoct sympathy for Katy Perry. And it almost worked. now she's receiving lashings for endorsing Republicans and working with DrLuke Can Katy Perry recover from this? Or is this Era doomed from the start? -
Britney's peak was no bigger than Madonna, Adele, Gaga nor Taylor. Tbh she only sold tons of albums because she would limit her singles sales to ensure bigger album sales (that explains her mediocre Hot 100 peaks back in the day) Once digital sales became a thing, she kinda flipped from album artist to singles artist Not saying she wasn't successful, but it's overrated
