After the 8 weeks at #1 of Anti Hero and 8 weeks at #1 of Flowers in the last 12 months no song was able to have a solid #1 run. Cruel Summer and Paint the town read were the only ones decent with 4 and 3 weeks. Cruel Summer - Taylor Swift : 4 weeks at #1 Paint the town red - Doja cat: 3 weeks at #1 Texas hold em (Beyoncè): 2 week at #1 Vampire - Olivia Rodrigo: 2 weeks at #1 Seven (Latto): 1 week at #1 Kill Bill (Sza): 1 week at #1 Slime you out (Sza): 1 week at #1 Is it over now (Taylor Swift): 1 week at #1 Yes and? (Ariana Grande): 1 week at #1 Die For you (Ariana Grande): 1 week at #1 I remember everything (Kacey Musgraves): 1 week at # 1 Hiss (Meghan Thee Stallion): 1 week at #1 We can't be Friends by Ariana is set to lose the first position after one week. Can it repeak again or it's gonna be a quick number one like Die for you and Yes and?. Who do you think is gonna give us again an exciting #1 run?

base talk Dua one of very few pop girls with a year-end #1 song. Why?
PoisonPill posted a topic in Base
Dua Lipa is one of the few pop girls ever to have a Billboard Year-End #1 song to her name. The last one was Kesha in 2010, then Mariah in 2005 and then Cher in 1999. Why have so few “pop girls" have been able to achieve this milestone? Who do you think will in the future? -
At the peak of her career as a songwriter, Kandi released her debut solo album after writing hits for Destiny's Child, TLC, P!nk and others: "Don't Think I'm Not" is a cute song and hit #24 on the Hot 100. "What I'm Gon' Do to You" is a good album track. Why didn't the album do well? Was it her voice? Lack of personality? Did she and She'kspere already give their best songs away to other artists?

base talk Can Taylor get two #1 hits with Tortured Poets Department like Ariana?
Bethenny Frankel posted a topic in Base
Ari has gotten two #1 hits with Yes, And? and now We Can't Be Friends (Wait For Your Love) in her "flop era" with Eternal Sunshine. Can Taylor do the same thing? She has not gotten more than one #1 hit in an era since 1989, which is crazy to think about honestly.- 82 replies

base talk Cardi B’s “Enough (Miami)” did not debut on the Spotify Global 200 chart. Why?
KatyPrismSpirit posted a topic in Base
After promo single “Like What” failed to debut on the global spotify chart, I gave her the benefit of the doubt because it was a “Freestyle” HOWEVER… Enough (Miami) is a official single with radio, music video, promo etc. So what happened? -
Is there anything more painful on the charts than peaking at #2? These songs tried so hard and got so far, but in the end, it didn't even matter — to paraphrase just one of the many iconic hits that couldn't quite make it to the apex of the Billboard Hot 100. So let's give them a shot at redemption in this latest edition of the annual tournament you've all been waiting for. Yes, it's that time again! As college basketball fever sweeps the nation, we here at ATRL turn to what we do best: pitting celebrities against one another. We've already crowned the most indispensable cover, the most scene-stealing guest verse, the most legendary Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee, the dreamiest song by a teen idol, the supreme girl group track, the most bloody brilliant British single, the most iconic album cover, Oscar's gold standard Best Original Song, our favorite female video, the one-hit wonder we'll never tire of, the best Record of the Year winner, the greatest #1 hit of all time and Hollywood's hottest hottie. For our 14th (!) contest, we're providing music history's most famous runners-up an opportunity to finally come out on top. Throughout the tournament, everyone will have a chance to participate by voting for their favorite #2 hits in one-on-one match-ups, whittling down the field of 64 songs until we reach our champion. But I need your help before we can begin! Please nominate your list of ten favorites that just missed the Hot 100 summit (no ranking necessary) in the thread below. These ballots will be used to determine the final list of competitors and help decide their tournament seeds. Now get to it, because the fun begins in a few days and you don't want your picks to be left out!

base talk Did ticket scalpers overestimate Justin Timberlake's popularity?
SoldierofLove posted a topic in Base
ATRL gays kept telling me that Justin's tour is selling well but I had a hard time believing that. Upon further investigation, his tour technically is selling well. But I'm seeing a lot of resale tickets. As you can see, there are a sea of pink seats still available for these four shows. This is the case with many others. Will the scalpers have to reduce the tickets to $20 to sell them off? Did scalpers overestimate his popularity? What does this mean for his touring prospects in the future?
