  1. Has anyone watched it? it's like a kind of docu of the biggest moments in her career, what did you think?

    Cut 4 Me Appreciation Thread

I got into Kelela after she released Hallucinogen; by the time I fully got into her she had just released Take Me Apart and I've never given her debut mixtape Cut 4 Me the full attention it deserved besides the generally praised tracks ala the mid-section. Recently I sat with Cut 4 Me and my god the beginning and the end are just as excellent, if not better The openers Guns & Synths & Enemy are surreal instrumentally. And the last 3 tracks (Something Else, A Lie, and Cherry Coffee) end the album in such a dreamy trance reminiscent of the end of Rhythm Nation's excellent electronic r&b ballads. I'm floored. Do you agree? Do you use Cut 4 Me as much as her later outputs? Do you think Miss Kelela should go back to the early uk bass vibe of this record? Discuss!

    Innocent (Appreciation)

It’s okay, life is a tough crowd.
  4. What are everyone's fav songs by 1D? I know they're not super popular here but they have loads of great pop songs tbh, especially on their last 3 albums. Ones I love are:
  5. Come On Over Tour (1998-1999) - $74.5M Up! Tour (2003-2004) - $87M Rock This Country Tour (2015)- $69M Now Tour (2018) - $76M Queen of Me Tour (2023) First Leg - $76M She still has the European and a second North American legs coming up! Hopefully she announces Australian and South American dates soon!
  6. Telephone 588,071,875 (+349,962) Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It) 577,712,757(+273,170) I was told Telephone was forgotten and not even Beyonce's top 10 most remembered songs, what happened? Did talent win in the end?
  7. I thought she moved to Interscope Records? She’s not on the record label’s website. I wonder what happened.
  8. She did not release a studio album after the Bodyguard until 6 years later that's like a Rihanna break and later bombed in early 2000s. Mariah on the other hand was having yearly albums. So what do you think?
  9. Simple question. Do streaming numbers determine if a song is a classic?

How did Xtina drop the ball?

I have been listening to Back To Basics quite a lot this week. After the slayage that were ain't no other man & candyman (both are pop perfection imo) and after the hit turned classic "hurt" how did she drop the ball so hard? Don't get me wrong, bionic is a solid album but why didn't she pursue the sound of back to basics further? She went completely nuts on the songs I mentioned.
  11. I was recently watching life and career of Tina Turner because her passing away affected me and I wanted to learn and discover more about her. I watched her HBO Max documentary "Tina" as well as her biopic film "What's Love Got To Do With It" on Disney+ and it made me realize how much I prefer watching Tina sit down and talk about her experience growing up and about her life and career rather than dramatization off it. I also loved watching the recent Janet Jackson miniseries documentary and Wham! documentary and I thought to myself why doesn't Madonna do the same and sell her documentary to a streaming service? She could release 10 episodes with each being 2 hours long and discuss everything... from her childhood and how loss of her mother affected her to growing up to early stages of her career and getting into the business. Everything. I want to see her watch her performances such as Live Aid 1985 and explain everything what went through her mind and her thoughts on it today. Reacting to each era and giving her thoughts and her thinking process and life around the time. Talk about her abuse marriage to Sean Penn, her date and friendship with Michael Jackson. Other celebrities, etc. It would be her. Authentic, from her own words. Why not make it happen?
  12. Walk Away is truly an unparalleled vocal performance. Lyrically, vocally, and sonically this song is a masterpiece.
  13. I am trying to spend less time on social media, but am finding it hard to find "alternatives". There are days when I limit my usage and when the time to get off a social media platform I just find myself feeling lost and lonely (which often leads me to just open up Twitter and Instagram again); I read, exercise, watch films, and so on, but those things are usually things I do that only take 1-2 hours, after I'm done with those pastimes I am back on social media just scrolling and my wasting time. I was wondering If any of you guys had advice on what to do/how to healthily remove obsessive social media usage from your life.
  14. It’s no secret that people often go dressed up as influential celebs on Halloween. Here are some looks inspired by popular acts in recent years What looks will be recreated this year?
  15. Avril made a triumphant return with "Girlfriend" and a fantastic album: The best damn thing. But, I feel like this album could've sold twice as much if other songs were chosen as singles. Here are my options had I been in charge of the era: 1. Girlfriend: The perfect lead. 2. Runaway 3. I will be: A much better ballad than WYG: 4. Alone: An uptempo banger with another killer chorus
  16. Joker will soon be released in cinemas and could well be a huge success and Gaga will then become an extremely famous actress. Imagine if she wins an Oscar and then releases a new album. The album could benefit from the success of Joker and would then become a huge success which would be for Gaga her third peak in her career. She would be more respected than ever and considered as a legend.
  17. I honestly didn’t expect she would bomb like this in the new leg of Jazz & Piano, considering she immediately sold out all the shows in the past legs. Not to mention that Chromatica Ball was a big success. So how and why did she decline so much since just last year? today’s show tomorrow’s show
  18. Hiatus

    Is 009 Sound System iconic?

These tracks were Everywhere_Michelle_Branch.mp3 on YouTube back in the early 2010s
  19. Mandy Moore’s music career obviously was….less than successful. But she has since made a name for herself in Hollywood with successful films, including The Princess Diaries, A Walk to Remember, and the biggest of all, Tangled. Meanwhile, Xtina has struggled to maintain chart success, not having a solo top 10 hit since the Bush administration, and her attempt at a major film performed decently with Burlesque, but overall doesn’t compare to Mandy’s. So, despite her almost non-existent music career, has Mandy Moore lowkey seen more success than Christina Aguilera?
  20. Honorable mentions: "Too Bright" & "No Shape" I never fully got into him but I love these.
