  1. Did the GP realize she kept releasing the same songs again and again?
  2. so, in the early 2010s/2000s, there was a song called "Send It On" by Disney's Friends for Change (Miley, Selena, Demi & the Jonas Brothers) and now with the new Disney stars breaking through (Olivia, Sabrina, Dove, etc), would y'all live for a new version of it but with the new Disney stars?

  6. A lot of people would say Beyoncé is the biggest pop star in the world. While Beyoncé does well compared to the rest of her peers, Taylor Swift seems to be demolishing her in touring revenue and now album sales. I know that these numbers are going to cause stan wars in the future, but rather than use this thread to put down a hard working woman who just reclaimed a genre I figure we could have a discussion about why we think this is. To put it frankly, I think Beyoncé should be selling a lot more than she does, especially first week. What do you think?
  7. As Katy herself has previously stated, a new era/album is coming very soon. If you had to bet on it, how do you predict it will go?

  9. All three of these albums were released in 2012, by artists that fall under the "alt" or "indie" side of the more pop sound, and all three happen to be influenced by Britney Spears, according to the artists themselves (who are also declared big fans of the legendary singer). Which one is more of your preference? "Visions" by Grimes "Electra Heart" by Marina and The Diamonds "Lonerism" by Tame Impala

  11. This is better than I Am...Filler. Also Irreplaceable, Beautiful Liar are some of her signature singles and much better than the popular annoying ones like Halo & Single Ladies

  13. After her song 'Karma's a *****' was released onto streaming platforms by popular demand, Brit Smith, the songstress that got away then recently had a revival, announced via TikTok to her 424k followers that she will be dropping an EP on May 17th. 15. "Taylor Swift is probably the most famous person in the world.. When she drops 31 tracks, crazy things happen. Last Friday, with the release of Swift's 11th studio album, THE TORTURED POETS DEPARTMENT, Genius had its biggest traffic day of all time. Thanks almost entirely to POETS, Genius logged over 40 million song views on April 19. Of the album's 31 songs, more than half have amassed over a million views, and almost a quarter are at or near two million" The albums already sits as the most read studio album of all time in the platform. THE pen is still THE pen after all.
  16. Despite some moderately successful singles, Radical Optimism seems to be a heading in the direction of a slight decline from Future Nostalgia's massively successful era, which has lead some to believe Dua has entered her "flop" era. That being said, this podcast host seems to think it's rather beneficial for Dua to have a flop era as it will help her rally up her fanbase to defend her against the constant pessimism (B side album title?) Were points made? Discuss.

    Is Dua mimicking Beyoncé?

Dua Lipa definitely seems to be mimicking a more Beyoncé-like career shift right now, transitioning from radio friendly pop girl (New Rules, Levitating, Physical) into a more sophisticated, acclaimed respected artist and performer (Illusion, Espresso, Training Season ). Radical Optimism will probably be her 4, underperforming singles left and right but she will solidify a touring fanbase and won't really flop even if it seems like a career lull.
  19. With more people grasping and understanding human sexuality and it becoming less taboo, why is ATRL still constantly nasty towards people who come as bisexual or queer? It's always the same "b-b-but Nicki Minaj & Jessie J'" or the outdated "I don't believe she's bi!!! she only dates men!!!" which is such a weird take because bisexuality is a spectrum and we're not with these women 25/8 to disprove anything. Discuss and keep it cute!
  20. If I had a wish, I would have never messed around When I saw the pics of you with her I felt the knife twist Karma's a ***** and she's with you right now
  21. Just when I wanted to update my topsters I get stumbled upon this weird message https://www.neverendingchartrendering.org/
  22. - The endless strings of metaphors and similes on this record just fall flat. "The writing quality on these tracks really makes it difficult to feel for Taylor in the midst of all of this heartbreak." - Taylor hasn't taken the time conceptually or sonically to formulate a new sound, a new direction, a new evolution to coincide with this latest album cycle which she usually does with her new albums. "As a result, the material on this record on the broader pop landscape sounds derivative, sounds redundant, sounds uninspired." "I think she's closing those creative gaps by copying her contemporaries' homework. Ariana already wrote the angry at my audience for dragging me over my boyfriend anthem-of-the-year with yes, and? The song imgonnagetyouback - Olivia Rodrigo literally already did this same wordplay concept on get him back! with her latest record. There's already Florida!!! and Who's Afraid of Little Old Me? where Taylor cannot help herself from ripping off Lana Del Rey again and again and again not only lyrically, but vocally and melodically." - She needs to stop working with Jack Antonoff. "To put it bluntly, she needs to stop working with him or take a break because their creative partnership on this record is not yielding the results it used to. We're now getting multiple instrumentals that feel like Midnights but worse." "Jack forcing some awful 80s pastiche onto Taylor's songs that make them sound dated upon impact." "Jack's work with Taylor is just not what it used to be." Positive takeaways: loml is the best song on the album.
