    Fortnight serving NO longevity. Why?

It's been barely two weeks and it's already already down at #4 on Global spotify and #5 on US spotify. It failed to snatch a second #1 week in the UK despite she releasing physical copies to boost its performance. Other hits by other pop girls had higher streams after the same days Why do you think Tay's new single is showing signs of poor longevity?
  2. Lemme start Jack Antonoff (Always the Same production tricks. Always recycling ideas ZzZzZ. Always the same basic Synthpop) Oren Yoel (Urban producer makin a Country Record) Pharrell (Amazing songs and genre experimentation from Shakira but the production feels a bit cheap/like demos/songs badly cutted) He was good with the Neptunes but some of his pop productions definitely feel very simplistic-amateurish. Shakira was not the only victim of Pharrell Your turn. Post yours

  9. Considering he was name dropped by Taylor and got people talking a little bit and releasing a collab with K-pop group Stray Kidz next week will his first single in almost a year be a hit? I think he may have the opportunity to have his biggest debut on spotify global if his team gives him good playlisting. What do you think? His last single "Lipstick" debuted with about 750k streams globally, prior to that "Thats Not How This Works" debuted with 1.2 million streams. His biggest solo debut is Light Switch with 2.7 m

    this is PEAK Beyoncé

I don't think she has ever looked better than this the eyes, the fierceness, the hair, THE BODY, the attitude when they are chanting "c'mon, c'mon, c'mon, c'mon" and she gives the dancers that cvnty side eye i got CHILLS is this movie actually good? i really want to watch it
  12. Two timeless tracks, Spice Girls' "Goodbye" and Avril Lavigne's "When You're Gone," stand out as dignified pop ballads, frequently chosen to accompany final goodbyes. "Goodbye," penned as a tribute to their departed bandmate Geri Halliwell, carries a tender resonance, its lyrics a bittersweet ode to loss and gratitude. Conversely, "When You're Gone" marked a pivotal shift for Lavigne, unveiling a more vulnerable and mature facet of her artistry during the Girlfriend era. Both songs, despite their differing origins and contexts, share a common thread of emotional depth and sincerity. As mourners seek solace in music's embrace, the choice between these two masterful compositions poses a poignant question: which resonates more profoundly as the ultimate funeral pop ballad?
  13. Well it's official, Radical Optimism is a devastating bomb. After the hype of Future Nostalgia, it failed to crack more than 16m streams. How can Dua recover? What direction should she try for her next album? What can be done?
  14. In the last 10 years, Shakira has focused on Spanish-language music. This has brought her huge success and has allowed her to remain relevant even with new competition like Karol G, Rosalía, and Becky G, but I feel like it has turned her into another local america's star when she's more than that Releasing collaborations with the trendy reggaeton artists and predictable music to make hits. Also, Shakira has lost a lot of power in Europe and other parts of the World because Spanish-language music is only successful in the majority of the Americas-The States. Is harder for Spanish songs to get top chart positions in Europe-Asia-Africa-Oceania If y'll check karol g is massive but her songs rarely chart big in Europe Non-english music also get less hype from the American Media-Stan Community Honestly, I miss Shakira's English music a lot. In Spanish, we already know what to expect from Shakira (reggaeton, bachata, Mexican....). But in English, she used to be more inventive and always explored new things-experimented with her songs. It gave her the opportunity to explore more territories, to be more edgy. More intellectual too Sadly so many in the Anglo world are not appreciative of her english music. Yll pay her dust. I know her latest songs in English weren't good (Dont Wait Up/Dont You Worry/Girl Like Me), but you have to consider that they were made by very bad or mid producers: William (Britney Jean/Manjobi) Kirpatrick (Matches By Britney/Radical Optimism/Sixteen By Ellie Goulding/Look at Her Now by Selena/You By Miley Cyrus). Honestly, I feel like Shakira should drop the rock and electropop She's too focused on those worlds and they dont bring good things for her commercially wise Shakira should go back to world music songs-latin cocktails in English (most of her hits are ). Also, explore more R&B, Arabic music, and dancehall. Disco music too The sound-vibe of the "She Wolf" album. This is the direction her career should take?? Agree with me or not? Are u here for Shakira going back to english? Is Shakira limiting herself releasing music in only one language? Imagine Shakira career without Whenever Whenever-Hips-Waka Waka-She Wolf.........
  15. i love the chemistry all of them have
  16. Calling each other gay on every single one of these diss tracks. Like, shut up and get a room.
  17. I had burnout from Dua Lipa with Future Nostalgia reissue, but with the current rollout performance of the three singles and the streams(plus i actually love the album moreso than FN since im more into chill vibey music and These Walls >>>>), it feels like she's my best kept secret sauce artist and I'm so happy because it's not like a Taylor post-folklore-to-TTPD situation where she's too big where it's annoying
  18. I've been thinking a lot about this in relation to Dua's Radical Optimist era. She followed the traditional album rollout like a rulebook: it was a six month long promo campaign with 3 singles, remixes, live versions, playlisting. She performed in every award show, went to every TV show, internet show, podcast, Tiktok, several magazine covers, red carpets, new boyfriend. She played every move there is to play. And yet... nothing. Of course, there is something to be said about the music itself which is lackluster and did connect with audiences. But I feel like back in the day, the promo and strong rollout could at least get you a decent first week and a top 10 hit. When we look at the recent most successful eras from mainstream stars, most of them had very little promo. Can we say that the traditional album rollout system as we know it is obsolete? Does it have more to do with the specific artist and the music? What is the best way to go nowadays?
  19. I feel like all the hype and talk went to Taylor and her album and non for Duas Radical Optimism? The timing of her release really hurt her comeback don't you think? discuss

Any nepo babies that fumbled ? How does your dad found Motown Records, sign literal legends and you do this ? Any other examples ?
  21. do you think the fact that Dua doesn't have an ATRL banner contributed to her poor sales? I think so
  22. I'm not talking about the music but just about her image. I think the video of New Rules is the main reason that song (and her career) exploded. She was serving indie looking girl making commercial and generic big pop music. I think her appeal was that and what made her "different" as brand between the other big pop girls around. Then the girl give us nothing meme happened and she turned more and more in a sort of pop performer with visuals and staging very generic and already seen million times. Like the kinda of performance the 80% of every act on the Eurovision stage can make. She went from having that "different girl vibe" to be dragged on reviews for having no personality and being "just an instagram model". I think it was a bad idea going from generic music to being generic also in the way she presents herself and the music. She made the biggest mistake you can make: trying to be interesting for the GP (gay) men stucked in the 2001. So shoud Dua going back to her roots and old big eyebrows?
