  2. One of the most divisive & polarizing albums of the 2010s. Many argue this is her most eclectic and boundary pushing work, while others think it's too much of a hodge podge and mixture of genres that don't feel cohesive as a result. What would you have picked as not just the lead single but the perfect lineup of singles? Most commercial choice: Bionic / Woohoo (for rhythmic radio) / Monday Morning / Glam Most artistic experimental choice: Little Dreamer / Birds Of Prey Songs that best show off her voice: You Lost Me / Lift Me Up / I Am

  4. All 3 songs were submitted for the Best Original Song Oscar and all 3 got nominated at the Golden Globes. "What Was I Made For?" is currently the frontrunner, so because of the 2 song rule, which song do you see missing out? Sadly, I think it's Dance The Night. I'd prefer Dance The Night to make it in over I'm Just Ken, but the latter is arguably the bigger "moment" in the film, even though all 3 are very significant.

Song and Record of the Year: 2007

In a shocking turn of events absolutely nobody could have predicted, Mariah Carey absolutely swept our 2006 Song of the Year poll with “We Belong Together” taking nearly 85% of the vote—by far our most dominant winner yet. She also won the Record of the Year poll with that same song, although the Grammys’ winner “Boulevard of Broken Dreams” did put up a respectable fight. In 2007, the music industry rallied to collectively say “f*ck George Bush” and backed The Chicks in a major way. They swept the big three categories, winning both Song and Record for their iconic protest anthem “Not Ready To Make Nice.” I hope to see it win here as well, but perhaps voters will prefer Mary J Blige, James Blunt, or Corinne Bailey Rae? Pick your winners now!
  6. Both debuting in the 2000s, the Queen of Rap is predicted to debut with almost 200k units of her new album, 15 years into the game with no major promo or support. Meanwhile, Kelly has multiple Emmy awards nominated eponymous television show to support her promo but Chemistry will debut with less than Pink Friday 2. Are the pop stars on different tiers?

    Will Adele’s next album flop?

So she recently said that she hasn’t even thought about her next album and has nothing to say which means it will come in 2025 at the earliest. After she declined with 30, can she survive another long break like that?
  13. GreatestLoveofAll

best female hit of 2013? (according to BB)

Sooo im back with another chart poll since why nottt We love our girls, so I compiled a list of the 10 biggest hits by a female artist on the Billboard Hot 100 Year-End chart so we could vote on which is the best! first year up- 2013. Just to make sure we are on the same page, I only chose hits where the female artist is credited in the lead role or if its a female-only or fronted act.

Song and Record of the Year: 2006

Despite (or, more probably, because of) the underwhelming slate of nominees in the 2005 poll, we ended up with our most dominant winners yet. For the first time, both of our winners earned more than 50% of the vote. Usher’s “Yeah!” triumphed in Record of the Year, while Ray Charles’s Grammy winner earned only a single vote. The Grammys’ choice for Song of the Year fared little better, with only two votes leaving John Mayer with a last-place finish. Our voters decided to award Alicia Keys for “If I Ain’t Got You,” meaning she joins Avril Lavigne with two wins in this category. 2006 was a fairly disparate year for the Recording Academy, with only one song making it into both Song and Record. Green Day took home Record of the Year for “Boulevard of Broken Dreams” while U2 earned their second Song of the Year trophy for “Sometimes You Can’t Make It On Your Own.” Will ATRL agree? Will voters “Hollaback” for Gwen Stefani, or do they simply believe that Mariah Carey and the Grammys “Belong Together”? Vote now!
