Song and Record of the Year: 2015

In our 2014 poll, ATRL voters agreed with the recording academy. Daft Punk retained their win in Record of the Year, while the (former) teen hottie from down under, the Lorde herself, kept hold of her Song of the Year win for “Royals.” Except… what’s that? There is one slight deviation from the Grammys’ results: Lorde actually tied for the win in Record of the Year as well! In 2015, the general field skewed heavily in favor of the pop girls. Turn up the music, because the Recording Academy is “All About That Bass.” Beyoncé was snubbed? She can just “Shake It Off.” This is a “Fancy” party, so don’t bother trying to swing from the “Chandelier.” In the morning, Hozier is gonna “Take Me To Church,” and you’re welcome to “Stay With Me” and tag along if you’d like! Both Grammys went home with Sam Smith, the first ever gay man to win these categories probably, according to them, anyways. Vote for your favorites now!

Song and Record of the Year: 2014

Gotye easily retained his Record of the Year win for “Somebody That I Used To Know (feat. Kimbra)” in our 2013 poll, while Carly Rae Jepsen’s “Call Me Maybe” unsurprisingly took home the Song of the Year category with nearly half of the vote. In 2014, the Recording Academy nominated a bunch of hit songs from mostly unusual hitmakers. Daft Punk won Record of the Year for “Get Lucky (feat. Pharrell Williams and Nile Rodgers)” while Lorde took home Song of the Year for her breakthrough smash “Royals.” Vote now!
