  1. The price hike on everything has got me shook and clutching my coin purse. I spend around $200 - $400 a month on groceries depending on if it's toiletries vs food items. If it's just food, it's about $200-$300... for a 2 person household. How much do ya'll spend?
  2. GRAIN VALLEY, Mo. (AP) — The school board of suburban Kansas City high school has told its teachers to remove cards and stickers that show they are allies of LGBTQ students. Officials in the Grain Valley emailed families on Monday saying the school board had directed administrators to remove cards or stickers that may read “Safe space for all.” The directive came after members received “a concern” about the cards and stickers. The email said the district remains committed to helping create a safe and inclusive environment, but the cards were “not appropriate at this time.” The Kansas City Star reports some parents, teachers, and advocates have objected to the decision. https://www.ky3.com/2022/04/26/missouri-high-school-bans-lgbtq-support-stickers-cards/

    RateYourMusic

RYM is one of the largest music databases and communities online, which you can use in endless ways to discover new music. Let's explore the many ways you can discover music using RYM. 1. Browse all-time charts You can find out what is rated the most highly by the RYM community overall by browsing the top charts by decade or year. The thousands of ratings of the community over the past 15+ years determine where albums, EPs, singles, and more place in the charts. These rankings are updated for old and new releases based on fresh data every week. 2. Learn more about music You can browse through the charts — or use the search bar at the top of every page on RYM to find exactly what you're looking for — to learn more about releases (like Remain in Light), including track listings, credits, and reviews and comments by members. 3. Create a chart of the best music based on your own criteria With custom charts, you can dial in more specific detail to only include the genres or countries you're interested in. 4. Dig deep into personally curated selections of music If you want to go a little further, browsing member lists can help, where you can find everything from themed playlists for rainy days to a year's worth of avant-garde jazz. 5. Keep track of your music collection If you become a member of RYM, you can keep track of what you own and have listened to. You can use release and track ratings to help you remember what you thought of your favorite (or least favorite!) music, wishlist releases you want to hear later, and write reviews when you want to share your thoughts with the community. The more you catalog and rate on RYM, the more useful it will become to you. You'll be able to search your catalog by artist, release, tag, and year. The new music page will allow you to see upcoming releases by artists in your collection that you may be interested in. 6. Give and receive recommendations Click 'Automatic' on your user profile, or 'Recommendations' under the three bars at the top right of any page. You can filter and adjust recommendations to your preference: • Influence recommendations by the ratings of people you follow • Favor newly-released music • Exclude artists you know • Limit recommendations to one per artist, and • Filter to main album types (Albums, EPs, mixtapes) or show all types of releases. You'll also get a set of "Challenge" recommendations: highly-rated music that is generally the opposite in style to what you usually listen to — expand your music taste and step out of your comfort zone. 7. Make friends on RYM In addition to telling people you already know who love music that they should join you, there are many ways to connect with RYM members. Perhaps you have encountered a well-written review or a list that you love. Maybe you are browsing the forums and spot a member with similar taste or someone with specialized knowledge about an artist or genre you've meant to explore. Why not leave a comment on that member's profile page, or send them a personal message? Clicking the + (plus) icon on a profile page will enable you to add a member as a friend. As you add friends on RYM, you can begin to utilize tools like custom friend charts and compare your collection and ratings with friends. You will also receive notifications in your profile when your friends leave comments or post new reviews and lists. BetterRYM Browser Extension
  4. DeSantis is the Governor of Florida and he's been pushing ultra-conservative policies in the state lately. It could all be to try and establish him as a household name across the country. A recent Florida poll suggests that he has strong support from independents, while Trump is more popular among registered Republicans. DeSantis is also remarkably younger than Trump, 43, so he could be a factor in American politics for a long time to come. Mind you, I definitely want a Democrat as the president in 2024 again, but we should watch this race because I fear that DeSantis could be more dangerous for human rights than Trump.
  5. I could understand if something happened but I don’t understand when guys are super into you and paying you a lot of attention and then suddenly decide to fall off the face of the earth and start taking days to reply. this keeps happening to me and it’s completely ruined my confidence in dating because literally this guy texted me after our date “you’re so amazing, I can’t wait to see you again” and then just stopped replying. If I have a bad experience or am just not into someone I just won’t reply, why lie? So annoying because there’s a part of me that always blames myself and wonders what I did wrong but I literally didn’t

  8. As you know, Central and Eastern Europeans warned for years about Russia's true nature. But France thought they were Russophobic and Germany continued to buy more and more Russian gas. Should we start listening to the other half of Europe more instead of viewing them as backwards and paranoid? Discuss.
  9. ... and to buy your silence the secret scientists let you choose one place in time (future or past) to travel to for a month. You are also given a ''safe pod'' meaning that if you choose to go somewhere violent you can always scape to that pod with food, shower and a bed to stay safe during the month. Also your absence will be only of a couple hours in your timeline, while you get one free month. So what time and place are you choosing? What are the reasons?

  11. Currently streaming on Netflix. Viola's story is incredible. I wish the interview went a little more in depth about her life and how she overcame certain struggles especially as her fame skyrocketed. I'm not familiar with Oprah's interviews but does she interrupt her guests so often? Every time Viola tried to piece her response together, Oprah butts in. Its frustrating to watch.
  12. Take this with a massive grain of salt, and I’ll believe it when I see it, but if so…….how would y’all feel about this?
