Applause was released four years ago and artpop as well. I don't understand the comparison, Em was selling 20+ million on his third album. Gaga barely sold 2 million. Jeezy has the only other Top 10 debut, though the John Williams score set for Star Wars: The Last Jedi gets awfully close. So Em still had a better first week of the older guard. 4:44 by Jay Z did 174k in pure first week sales. So Em did more in first week sales than Jay as well.
