witness1.3 Posted August 4, 2017 Author Posted August 4, 2017 (edited) August 5th, 2017 In a tight race for #1 this week, Kesha comes out on top with her lead single Praying from her upcoming album Rainbow. Praying becomes Kesha’s third #1 song, after C’mon and Die Young both hit #1 in 2016. Praying is also only the second solo song to hit #1 this year, and the first ballad to do so. After spending three consecutive weeks at #1, Calvin Harris’ star studded collab Feels with Pharrell Williams, Katy Perry, and Big Sean falls one spot to runner up spot #2. Making big strides up the chart is Demi Lovato with her lead single Sorry Not Sorry, which moves up five spots to #3. Sorry Not Sorry becomes Demi Lovato’s third top three hit, with Confident reaching #2 and Cool For The Summer reaching #3 in 2015. Sorry Not Sorry could possibly be a contender for the #1 In the following weeks. Title track Witness moves up two spots back into the top five at #4. After peaking at #2 for three weeks, Clean Bandit and Marina and The Diamonds’ Disconnect falls three spots to #5. Selena Gomez misses out on earning other top five this week, as her song Fetish with Gucci Mane only moves up three spots to a new peak of #6. Lorde’s Perfect Places leaves the top five for the first time in six weeks, as the song moves down three spots to #7. Coming in at #8 this week is Katy Perry’s and Skip Marley’s Chained To The Rhythm. The song has now earned a special achievement of spending at least one week at every position within the top ten, and has now spent half of year in the top ten consecutively. Entering the top ten for the first time in her career is Dua Lipa, whose song New Rules moves up two spots to #9. Fourth single from Witness, Save As Draft reenters the top ten at #10, after previously peaking at #9 for one week. witness1.3 Posted August 18, 2017 Author Posted August 18, 2017 August 19th, 2017 To begin, this is a pretty big update. With songs from Witness falling, and songs from Rainbow and Lust For Life rising/debuting, the chart is pretty messy this week. So many new song and album certifications as well. With that being said, this might be my last formal update for a while. I will be moving into college next week, and I don’t know how much time I will have to update my charts. I will most likely only post the Top 50 songs and Top 10 albums from now on. The week following the release of her comeback album Rainbow, Kesha becomes the second artist this year to simultaneously occupy three spots in the top ten. Lead single Praying spends a third consecutive week at #1, Learn To Let Go zooms six spots up to #4, and Woman also moves up six spots to a new peak of #9. Rainbow moves up one spot to #2 on the Albums Chart, and could be eyeing the #1 spot within the following weeks. The remaining of the top three is stagnant; Feels by Calvin Harris, Pharrell Williams, Katy Perry, and Big Sean stays at #2 for a third week, as well as Demi Lovato’s Sorry Not Sorry at #3. By moving up one spot, Dua Lipa’s New Rules reaches a new peak of #5 and becomes her first top five hit. Katy Perry’s Witness continues to be the highest charting song of the respective album, moving down one spot to #6 this week. Current single Save As Draft holds onto its peak of #7 for a second week. After peaking at #4 last week, Selena Gomez’s Fetish falls four spots to #8. Lorde’s Perfect Places rounds out the top ten, moving down two spots this week to #10. After an impressive 27 consecutive weeks in the Top Ten (9 of those at #1), Katy Perry and Skip Marley’s Chained To The Rhythm falls two spots to #11. This marks the first week since its #1 debut on February 10th, 2017 that the song was not in the top ten. This week, Chained To The Rhythm becomes the first song to be certified 6x DIAMOND. Usually songs don't go #1 after 7 weeks on the chart already. Learn To Let Go is doing so well, it could possibly be #2 next week. I don't know how Hymn jumped that much, cause I don't like it and keep skipping lol. But my friend puts on Woman every time we're in the car, hence its unexpected jump into the top ten. Those L4L songs will probably fall off next week because of the rolling effect anyways. 5 hours ago, St. Charles said: I'm so proud of CTTR, spending 28 weeks on the charts after being #1 for 9 ****ing weeks! jose168 Posted August 20, 2017 Posted August 20, 2017 Praying seems to be the universal #1 this week ke$ha did that. New Rules won't let that title up easy though I hope Fetish rebounds! btw i think you asked about my points system, its 10k points per song, with a bit of the previous weeks points counted for stability
