potent Posted December 23, 2017 Posted December 23, 2017 (edited) I like all the songs on this (edit: last) page except Noah Cyrus (which tbh I don't know but also don't desire to hear ) Edited December 23, 2017 by potent
Αnt Posted December 23, 2017 Posted December 23, 2017 Stay Together was a cute song. I still want her album!
Bubble Tea Posted December 23, 2017 Author Posted December 23, 2017 6. The Cure- Lady Gaga Gaga was kinda the queen of sticking to the single-album-single-single format, so when she randomly dropped this performance live the monsters were SHOOK! I was so shook – not only did she perform it live out of the blue, but then drops the mastered studio version worldwide? Shook as a chook. After Joanne I think a lot of us had given up hope for upbeat dance smashes that we originally bothered stanning for in the first place, but I guess Stef felt guilty and came through with this jam. However not only is it a damn smash, it’s also incredibly touching – penned for her friend Sonya who was fighting cancer at the time and has sadly since lost her life. (Can’t remember if the song came out before or after her death, but nonetheless very heartbreaking. The scene in Five Foot Two when she’s on the phone to Sonya is tear jerking!)

I actually wish I had tame to make them... but whatever. Graphic design is not the most important thing in these threads, isn't it? Oh you actually like these graphics? I always feel like such a failure cause I don't really know how to photoshop so I've just done something simple and cute like this. And know - graphics are definitely cute when you can do them but naturally I'd rather read someone's cool write-up on something I like.

Bubble Tea Posted December 25, 2017 Author Posted December 25, 2017 5. Chained to the Rhythm (featuring Skip Marley)- Katy Perry I was honestly sooo happy with Katy when she released this infectious, addictive, calorie-laden SMASH that I can still consume daily even now. After “Rise” and hearing the “Witness” demo I was terrified she was done with dance pop bops, but my fears were promptly put to rest when I heard this song. I was and am so happy with it! I know people mock her for the message of the song – but Christ, what’s a girl to do? Her job and the reason she is / stays successful is thanks to releasing catchy radio jingles. So she did her best to be both political and accessible, and I guess that’s to mixed review. Skip Marley was a great addition to the song and I love his voice and delivery style. He slots in nicely! A little cringe that every single from the album has a feature but at least they’re diverse.
K$Ellie Posted December 25, 2017 Posted December 25, 2017 The Cure is such a bop NoT CTTR being higher tho Green Light, Bon Appetit and Good Old Days top 10 Learn To Let Go is amazing King Of My Heart is a bop but not one of my faves on rep

Temporal Posted December 26, 2017 Posted December 26, 2017 Whew, the Talent! I was shook AF when she dropped it before unshooking myself @ no more music being on the way. It being below CTTR - while a nice song - is a choice tho
Bubble Tea Posted December 26, 2017 Author Posted December 26, 2017 4. Praying- Kesha I think I was honestly left breathless when this song came out. The whole “Praying” and Rainbow release seem to come out of nowhere and all happen so quickly. For so long it seemed like Kesha really was done, but then she truly emerged from the ashes and shone so brightly, showing off her voice in a way we’ve never heard before. Listening to it as I write this and it is STUNNING and so unique. The message of this is so powerful and not something I’ve ever heard before in music that I can recall. Forgiveness is the absolute hardest thing to do, especially when the person isn’t even apologetic, let alone actively still working to tear you down and belittle you. Kesha truly is the bigger woman in this situation (skip the size shaming jokes – they’re vile) and this song proves it.
