Bubble Tea Posted December 22, 2017 Author Posted December 22, 2017 10. Bon Appétit (featuring Migos) - Katy Perry People have a lot of feelings on this song but my verdict is that it’s a BOP. I was worried Katy was never gonna do “sexy” again, and was prepared for “Birthday” to mark the grave of the last time she had sex appeal, but fortunately I was dead wrong. She SERVES in a blonde wig and tight bodysuit flaunting her incredible body and I was left bald. It was a cute way of representing her transition from feminine, buxom popstar to the now spunkier and less cartoony Katy we’re now all expected to tolerate. Migos’ homophobic reputation hardly makes for a charming collab partner, but at least they do sound cool on the track – plenty of vocal editing is evident. I have no idea what they’re saying for half their verse but it’s cute nonetheless.
Mr.Link Posted December 22, 2017 Posted December 22, 2017 lol I find this song to be very very similar to Gaga's GUY. Chart wise and video wise. Hate them both though.

Bubble Tea Posted December 23, 2017 Author Posted December 23, 2017 9. Good Old Days (featuring Kesha) - Macklemore From the second I knew Macklemore was collaborating with Kesha, I was very hopeful – I usually didn’t mind Macklemore, and I certainly stan Kesha. Plus the straights love Macklemore and I knew that Kesha inserting herself into a single of his would do wonders – and low and behold, a very rare miracle occurred and that is that something I predicted was right. It’s a beautiful song, Kesha sounds amazing and like in “Timber”, she really rescues the song and sets it apart, making it what it is. Now when I think about it they’re really cut from the same cloth, and their duet makes a lot of sense. Looks like Macklemore is gonna feature in a new “Woman” video Kesha’s making, and hopefully in a remix with a feature? We shall see! (Writing this in early Dec so IDK yet)
prézli Posted December 23, 2017 Posted December 23, 2017 Kesha is double k because she is Kween Kesha.
Bubble Tea Posted December 23, 2017 Author Posted December 23, 2017 8. Stay Together - Noah Cyrus This song kinda came to my attention just before I set off for 4 months travelling, and just when I was starting to develop feelings for a boy I really liked who was moving permanently to London, but I too was disappearing and couldn’t really blame him. However, the lyric “nothing last forever, but wouldn’t it be nice to stay together for the night?” hits me and makes me feel that same kinda happy sadness that “Teenage Dream” makes you feel – cause you know it’s too late to re-write your teenage years or change how they’re going to how you’d ideally want it. Listening to “Stay Together” makes me feel that same kind of happy-sad, happy that I got the chance to meet and get to know the guy I like, but sad to say goodbye to him forever.
Bubble Tea Posted December 23, 2017 Author Posted December 23, 2017 7. Green Light - Lorde We knew Lorde was going to BRING it with the lead for Melodrama but we didn’t at all expect anything like “Green Light”, therein lays the beauty of the song. It’s unexpected for Lorde to release such an upbeat, exhilarating, all-over-the-place kinda song. It’s very frantic, there’s a lot of conflicting instruments at play and it can be a little chaotic, particularly in the build up to the chorus. However, it just works. It really does. I love that she didn’t feel constrained and obligated to constantly stick to the same niche style (hi Lana) and was happy to do the unexpected at the risk of disappointing her fans, though I doubt any were. Melodrama kind of is the expected album from Lorde, given how radically her life has changed since Pure Heroine. You can’t exactly brood about loneliness and the anguish of being a teenager when you’re one of the world’s hottest stars and friends with Taylor. (However it does seem they’ve had a slight falling out?)

Pacaveli Posted December 23, 2017 Posted December 23, 2017 (edited) Slay at those delicious and original graphics, girl. I actually wish I had tame to make them... but whatever. Graphic design is not the most important thing in these threads, isn't it? Edited December 23, 2017 by Pacaveli
Lucas32 Posted December 23, 2017 Posted December 23, 2017 Green Light I needed a few weeks to fully appreciate it but I love it these days.
Admiral Bobbery Posted December 23, 2017 Posted December 23, 2017 Good Old Days and Green Light are good. Playing catchup Spoiler Love Learn to Let It Go and Sober King of My Heart gets more hate on here than it deserves. Malibu, End Game, and Fetish are really cute. Ready For It kinda got old really quick for me. Love the sweet themed graphics. They make me hungry
