Bubble Tea Posted December 11, 2017 Author Posted December 11, 2017 (edited) 25. End Game (featuring Ed Sheeran and Future)- Taylor Swift As a known Taylor hater (though a Taylor stan quoted me once when I said this dragging me for attempting to call myself “known”) I was expecting to like no more than 2 or 3 songs from reputation, as I’ve never really been drawn much to her scratchy pitchy vocals and myspace diary entry writing style. However – not only has she managed to serve this strut-down-the-street-and-own-the-world bop, she also managed to shimmy another artist I can’t stand into my world aka. Ed Sheeran. Ugh! However a bop is a bop and praise will be given when it’s due, and this time it is. Obviously there’s been a lot of Taylor backlash this past year and I think reputation really is the only way she could have handled it. Like I still firmly believe that Taylor is a very selfish and manipulative person who cares far more about her power and impact than the music she’s making, but she has spat out some bops and that simply is that. “Big reputation, big reputation, oooh you and me we got big reputations.” That with Ed Sheeran is kinda perfect, cause I hate them both – and they know it. ATRL Moderator Unoriginal Posted December 11, 2017 ATRL Moderator Posted December 11, 2017 Taylor but not one of my personal rep choices
Wondy Lust Posted December 11, 2017 Posted December 11, 2017 We love a consistent theme and aesthetic!
That Bad Eartha Posted December 12, 2017 Posted December 12, 2017 Your taste (especially with Madge) used to make me think you were actually trolling, but I've come to accept it. Looking forward to the rest.
prézli Posted December 12, 2017 Posted December 12, 2017 I'd rather eat those than to listen to Talor Swift.
Bubble Tea Posted December 12, 2017 Author Posted December 12, 2017 (edited) 24. Independent- Saski None of you know this song so there's that, but Saski is actually a friend of mine from high school. She independently has released some tracks and they’re really interesting. She’s a super cute, great gal and her music and style is really unique in New Zealand I reckon. This is her latest track and it’s super cute, and super relatable. “I do this all on my own” reminds me of Madonna’s “Jump” and Kesha’s “Praying” – both tracks that sing about being able to make it on their own. As a single guy living alone in a city I can also feel the same way sometimes – do I really need anybody else? Maybe, maybe not. Edited December 12, 2017 by Reinvention

GokuRed Posted December 12, 2017 Posted December 12, 2017 End Game is aight Very well produced and mixed
Bubble Tea Posted December 12, 2017 Author Posted December 12, 2017 (edited) 23. Disconnect - Clean Bandit and Marina and the Diamonds I was sooooo late to the party on the existence of this track. I think I figured she just politely leant some vocals to some random group – not realizing that it was an entire song sung by Legend MATD instead! It’s a real bop. Marina’s voice is beyond underrated – it sounds best when she’s singing softly and with a great melody, and here she is doing just that. IDK anything about Clean Bandit but it’s blatantly a cool production and for that I give them praise. Edited December 12, 2017 by Reinvention

Bubble Tea Posted December 12, 2017 Author Posted December 12, 2017 22. Fetish (featuring Gucci Mane)- Selena Gomez Having rarely cared for Legend S in the past, I’ve been recently more and more drawn to her simply fact to the STUNNING and UNIQUE tracks that she insists on consistently releasing. Hot off the heels of the truly amazing “Bad Liar”, “Fetish” came along and obliterated my weave once more. The video is also amazing – but the track is just great. She does so much with her admittedly not-exactly-powerful voice that you don’t even realize – turns out there’s more to pop music than vocalists. Who knew? (Not ATRL) There’s a reason there’s armies of producers, mixers and engineers on pop tracks. I love the lyrics too – I love how she’s owning her own sexiness, and position as a surprisingly enormous social media influencer. (Surprising cause she never says anything!) p.s. Does anyone know how I can center these damn Spotify things?
