Mark Rih Posted December 15, 2017 Posted December 15, 2017 (edited) wait i missed this bad bitch taylor is clearly a bad idea, it will backfire drag SHITran Perfect deserved to make the main list tbh Strip That Down is not THAT bad, it's trash but it goes off a bit Edited December 15, 2017 by Mark Rih
Playa Playa Posted December 15, 2017 Posted December 15, 2017 Literally all your dishonourable mentions are right Whew
Eeveelution Posted December 15, 2017 Posted December 15, 2017 I can't argue with your dishonourable mentions. I Have Questions in particular, those lyrics are SO corny
Lazuli Posted December 16, 2017 Posted December 16, 2017 Witness being your ONLY dishonorable mention for albums? Don't do her so dirty like that! Strip That Down, Perfect, Friends, Despashito can CHOKE (Camila can too, but IHQ is ok)
Remmy Posted December 16, 2017 Posted December 16, 2017 DMs - Albums: Can't agree with reputation, can unfortunately agree with Witness Your standouts for both are pretty solid Especially Taylor, which has RFI whew! DMs - Songs: Not a big fan of Ed but I actually love COTH. Friends is the first Bieber single I genuinely enjoyed in years Even though it was for around 5 seconds. First Time is alright but yeah, definitely basic. Perfect has been overrated from the jump D******to Strip That Down sucks, didn't deserve any success Camila in general lol

Quavo not yet done with this ****er, but honestly this came somewhat... tolerable? like it's a dishonorable mention because God can't tell me otherwise that this is awful, and so are the lyrics (in particular the 1D lyric), but some of my friends bop to it (tragique), and that's why I learned to tolerate dis one, not the same case for other songs of him or whatever. Ed Sheeran - Castle On The Hill okay now this isn't nearly that bad, but it's just so obvious how manufactured this. GOD. also I can't believe he promotes himself as a lyricist and then when introducing this song he used the lyric: 'when I was 6 years old I broke my..'' whatever. WOuldn't even know anymore. It's also clearly that nostalgic song where the GP will say: Omg DIS rihminDSZ me OF My YouTH, ed sheeran SAVED 2017 YALL, never done before this song!!!11'' hate him Ed Sheeran - Perfect bad and obvious remake of TOL, and bad says a lot cause I already HATE TOL Justin Bieber/Bloodpop - Friends SO basic, that this actually somewhat flopped (for his standards), even the GP didn't want dis, despite it follows a somewhat similar formula to his other hits. Luis Fonsi, Daddy Yankee feat. JB - Despacito (remix) original version? mediocre and overplayed. this version? horrible and even more overplayed. Can't believe some countries needed a whack ass JB feature (who doesn't give a **** about this song at all lol), for this to smash like it did. Like okay the original version has a somewhat.. loveable vibe to it? but what does this remix have aside from just the name 'justin bieber'. Kygo and Ellie - First Time god this is disappointing. I honestly never really cared that much for Kygo, but it Ain't Me, was cute, and I love Ellie, so I had high hopes for this one. It's just.. trash, I don't even know what part of the song I do like, actually looking back at dis, I should've put this in my top 25 worst songs, but too late now xo Camilla Cabello - I Have Questions GOd I am sorry (many people actually liked this? perhaps because it was the lesser evil of the two? hm). Eitherway this is just so fake deep also that first 'why' always makes me giggle, a kii. It's just a mediocre ballad All of these are bad, but Galaway Girl is even worse than Perfect & COTL! Camilla sucks, tbh.
Phoenixstar Posted December 16, 2017 Posted December 16, 2017 I love Perfect and Castle On The Hill because of the melody But yes drag the rest of these. So insufferable wew

I've mostly mentioned Taylor here, because I didn't think she was deserving of Honorable Mentions AND I did wanna talk about her. dHMs it is then. Reputation is kind of weird and it has two clear halfs, the first part is clearly the part in what I think everyone thought 'Reputation' would sound like. Somewhat forced trap/dance influenced pop music that is definitely much different for Taylor. After that we move onto the second half where majority of the songs sound like a somewhat weird combo of the reputation sound and the 1989 sound. It's also the part that lacks the most energy on the album (even though it shows a 'classic' taylor). In fact the whole second half is filled with meh or bad songs, excluding DWOHT and CIWYW (both actually very good) Even the first half has some issues, where the 'badness' seems forced. And that shows, as only the best songs have real replay-value, while a majority of the others were cute at first listen, but become either forgettable or annoying after more listens. Still after this negative af essay, I would still say I like Reputation, and I do admire her trying something new for her, but that doesn't mean it's an amazing album. standouts: ..Ready For It?, Delicate, Dancing With Our Hands Tied katy purry - hitless Witness Along with Reputation, it's the most talked album of the year, this one for more bad reasons than the other. It's funny cause before the era had started, I actually thought Katy posted some snippets, that could perhaps point towards her best albums? not quite. I feel like this is her most adventurous album, has some more experimental production (for her) and has some great songs on it or.. guilty pleasures. But the whole album is just a mess as a whole. There's nothing that ties it together except for some of the worst lyrics of her career. and pointing this out with Katy is somewhat obvious, but god are some of the lyrics bad on this album. And I say that as a person who doesn't care that much about lyrics, they were just that bad. Witness is just a mess and feels like Katy wanted to mature, but her lyrics wanted to be even more juvenile and childish. A weird combo. standouts: Tsunami, Pendulum, Bon appétit (sue me but this is actually amazing, even the migos verse goes off.. guilty pleasure of the year) DRAG this basura they both deserve nothing for these boring albums
Navyofbadgals Posted December 16, 2017 Author Posted December 16, 2017 Top 10 Worst albums of 2017 #10 P!nk - Beautiful Trauma Ever since TTAL P!nk has gotten.. painfully, normal? Now I get it, as an artist she has to mature, but maturing doesn't mean generic mainstream pop. Old people will prolly think this is the hip thing to listen to now, but P!nks new album is awfully mediocre and nothing really stands out. It has a few nice songs, but nothing really wows and it's kinda sad. It's just too tame, where is the fun? At least TTAL had some of that fun in it. standouts: Beautiful Trauma, Secrets, Barbies #9 Fergie - Double Dutchess Her long awaited album certainly didn't pan out the way everyone expected it to do. DD is truly a mixed bag that doesn't feel like a correct follow up to the other Dutchess album, which admittedly rihminds me of Teenage Dream, which means that it's not a masterpiece, but at the time it didn't get much from credit from critics despite being pretty good, and both ending up with multiple smashes. But Double Dutchess is different, and the most obvious attempts at hits sound awkward and irritating. It might be Double Dutchess, but it doesn't have half the charm of her first LP, and it almost feels like an amateur response to it. pretty sad standouts: Enchanté, Tension, Hungry #8 Zara Larsson - So Good So Good.. is So Bad (cliché pun intended). The album doesn't deliver much outside of the singles, which weren't all that great either. We are left with an album with some nice highs (Lush Life and NFY being two of those, which were released centuries before the album), but some painful lows (One Mississippi, Make That Money Girl.. etc.). Ultimately the album is lazy and dull, and when you wait so long.. and then come out with this, it's embarassing. Try harder. standouts: TG4M, Lush Life, I Would Like #7 DJ Khaled - Grateful Truth be told, I wanted to be petty and put 'Evolve' here , but it didn't feel right cause I don't care for Imagine Dragons at all, and didn't even listen to their album. ANYWAYS, if Double Dutchess is a mixed bag, lord knows what this one is. It has some great bops on it, that were pretty much always destined to be hits, and then we pretty much have filler after filler. It's not like I was expecting a lot from DJ Khaled of all people.. but like just make an EP next time. Also stop with the poor kid already jesus lord standouts: Wild Thoughts, Shining, On Everything #6 Linkin Park - One More Light hmm. It's sad that this is the band's last album with Chester is so painfully mediocre. There is literally no soul or personality in this. It's void. It feels like the band's attempt to conform to nowadays generation, but by doing that they dumb themselves down, both lyrically, and more specifically sonically. It's just a complete mess. standouts: honestly.. idk? perhaps the title track
lightstheyblindme Posted December 16, 2017 Posted December 16, 2017 Beautiful Trauma was godawful, deserved to be higher
Navyofbadgals Posted December 16, 2017 Author Posted December 16, 2017 Top 25 Worst songs of 2017 #25 David Guetta ft. Justin Bieber - 2U Painfully plain and mediocre. Perhaps the saddest here is how much Guetta his watered his style down. It's not like he had a lot before, but he used to be so much better with his singles. meh #24 Zayn & Taylor Swift - I Don't Wanna Live Forever Perhaps the song's biggest flaw is its title. It feels like it's gonna be a mysterious song.. or just a sexy song seeing it's for 50 Shades. I Don't feels like it forces some 'sexiness' here and there, but at the end of the day it is dominated by Zayn's high notes that are honestly annoying, and the rest of the song is pretty much your run-of-the-mill romantic song. meh #23 Charli XCX - Boys ugh. I used to love Charli, but between the rest and the rest of her PC songs.. are just so soulless and annoying. I honestly don't know with this one #22 Camilla Cabello - Crying In The Club I've heard this before. 100 times. For an artist to present her songs as so personal, and then to debut with two songs that are just your average try at a hit song. But perhaps the most awkward thing is, that it's painfully obvious that it was never going to smash, making this sound even more desperate. Shoutout to the christina sample though, which is honestly pretty dope, and saves this song from not being higher on this list. #21 Ed Sheeran - Bibia Be Ye Ye This is annoying. I would like to explain my choice why this is here more.. but like.. this is not the last thing you'll see him here.. so just wait I guess?
