Mark Rih Posted December 18, 2017 Posted December 18, 2017 also M5 album wasn't that bad but they deserve to be here because of that cover
Navyofbadgals Posted December 18, 2017 Author Posted December 18, 2017 Top 20 Albums: #10-6 And here I am again now back to counting down the best albums cause I felt like it, top 5 tomorrow rihcap Spoiler #20 H.E.R. - H.E.R. #19 Sampha - Process #18 Run The Jewels - Run The Jewels 3 #17 Kacy Hill - Like A Woman #16 Demi Lovato - Tell Me You Love Me #15 Drake - More Life #14 SZA - CTRL #13 Susanne Sundfor - Music for People In Trouble #12 Lana Del Rey - Lust For Life #11 Lorde Melodrama #10 Tove Lo - Blue Lips Blue Lips is just smart. It doesn't take a lot time to really grab the listener and take ha away to a new world, BUT Blue Lips gives us an endless cycle of bops where Tove Lo is still open enough to make this her album, and not just a random nobody with lots of bangers. Aside from Romantics, every track goes off, even the 'interludes' or whatever they are. Blue Lips does what it was asked to do, and I am grateful for that and couldn't ask for more. standouts: stranger, disco ****, don't ask don't tell, bitches, hey you got drugs? #9 Miguel - War & Leisure Perhaps not as instant or hardhitting as his previous records, but War & Leisure is still a very solid effort. We start off with a more chill and unique side of Miguel, while the other part of the album gets darker (which is prolly the better part of the album? idk it's close). War & Leisure is R&B well played out. I feel like it doesn't hold the same magic as his previous efforts, but I certainly enjoyed this one. standouts: Caramelo Duro, Anointed, Banana Clip, Come Through and Chill, Told You So #8 Dua Lipa - Dua Lipa After a long wait, Dua Lipa finally delivered us her debut album, perhaps I am overrating this, but it's just an incredibly enjoyable and solid pop debut. Dua Lipa has an incredible tone, looks, and she already has racked up a nice pack of hits, and I have the sneaky feeling that this pack of hits will be bigger in the near future too. Dua's debut album is no groundbreaking music, but it's just a very well-made pop album and I for sure am rooting for this girl to make it even bigger. standouts: New Rules, Genesis, Be The One, Lost In Your Light, Begging #7 Kesha - Rainbow This HAD to be on my list. Let's start off by saying that this was my first hit thread and I was happy to snatch it but thread-snatching bias aside, it's just a very good album, and I'm not even into the countrypop sounds. Kesha opens up multiple times with beautiful ballads, has multiple uptembo pop songs with a country side to them, and here and there a more rockleaning song. Rainbow is still quite diverse, but they all tie in well together. Perhaps the best thing about this album, is that Kesha showed that she's more than capable to make music without her main producer, in fact she showed she can do it better, while still remaining true to herself and how we know her. Rainbow is undoubtedly the best out of the 'country' albums by the popgirls (Joanne, Younger Now, and this one).. in fact it's miles ahead of the others. After a few weeks I began to see a few flaws here and there (some songs that could pass as filler), but at the end of the day Rainbow rihmains an achievement to be proud of, and it's an album that still holds a nice amount of replay-value. well done. standouts: Boots, Hunt You Down, Praying, Spaceship, Learn To Let Go #6 Tyler The Creator - Flower Boy Ooh boi. This album probably changed the most in ranking, at first I had it in the top 15, then outside.. and then when I was making the final changes, I realized how amazing this album really is. And here we are. Flower Boy is personal, mature, but still unapologetically Tyler The Creator. No other rapper can do what Tyler do, and Tyler doesn't want to do what any other rapper can do. The whole album is just beautiful, and for a moment I wanted to put it in my top 5. It's an incredible record from start to finish with songs that even urban haters can appreciate. It's my favorite Tyler album, followed by Wolf.. and I can't wait to see what Tyler brings on next, I hope he stays on this path. Incredible. standouts: See You Again, Who Dat Boy, I Ain't Got Time, 911/Mr. Lonely, Foreword top 5 update tomorrow, any guesses on who's in there?
ATRL Moderator madonnas Posted December 18, 2017 ATRL Moderator Posted December 18, 2017 I get what Tove is going for but I think she tries too hard and it ends up hindering her. I never listened to W&L in full but liked what I heard. Rainbow is great! Dua is kinda a bad album tbh but at least there are really good moments. I liked Tyler's album but it only got one spin from me Who Dat Boy is good and so is Pothole though.
ATRL Moderator Tsareena Posted December 18, 2017 ATRL Moderator Posted December 18, 2017 didn't listen to flower boy but loved the rest of your update. War & Liesure is no Kaleidoscope dream but is still great

Staryu Posted December 18, 2017 Posted December 18, 2017 Tove, Dua, Kesha I'd also like a threesome with Miguel and Tyler, wouldn't that be interesting
bestfiction Posted December 18, 2017 Posted December 18, 2017 Blue Lips nice to see dontaskdonttell appreciation, it gets kinda overlooked Dua Her debut was everything, she gave the gays everything they wanted. also I was lucky to snatch a vinyl copy of it and it's gorgeous I kinda wanted to give Miguel a try but never did it in the end. I think it's about time!
TheWayWeWere Posted December 18, 2017 Posted December 18, 2017 that update Blue Lips is soo good, isn't my favorite of hers, but there's literally no bad song on it W&L not as good as WH, but **** he's kinda my favorite male artist on scene right now Dua and Kesha making it love your picks

Mezik Posted December 18, 2017 Posted December 18, 2017 Rainbow truly is a masterpiece, love seeing it on your list. Who would've thought that Kesha can go from sleazy, party-girl, drinking music to a elegant, mature and artistic statement? It is such a good album.
Tom Vercetti Posted December 18, 2017 Posted December 18, 2017 Appreciate the Miguel love. Dua is a singles girl for me Tyler's best album
