World Eater Posted December 27, 2017 Author Posted December 27, 2017 Spoiler Y'all remember the playlist with the songs that almost made my song list? "Mary" was originally there but GOD, it slayed me like nothing I can think of in such short span of time 'Capacity's' centerpiece is a bittersweet ballad filled with melancholy, with an unusually long, but extremely satisfying chorus. Whew! Spoiler Dragging Obama and delivering at the same a total BOP? ANOHNI can't relate
World Eater Posted December 27, 2017 Author Posted December 27, 2017 Spoiler Flashback to the day Phil announced the album - knowing his wife had died six months earlier I (and probably everyone else) thought to myself "wtf already?". And then I read the press release. Uh oh. Then I noticed that the song he’s shared along with the announcement is called "Real Death". Uh oh. Needless to say, I knew exactly what to expect but at the same time I was NOT prepared for what was to come. A week after you died a package with your name on it came And inside was a gift for our daughter you had ordered in secret And, collapsed there on the front steps, I wailed A backpack for when she goes to school a couple years from now You were thinking ahead to a future you must have known deep down would not include you It felt like I was hit by a train. And the rest of 'A Crow Looked at Me' is no less heartbreaking. Each song is so disturbingly emotional, it punches you right in the stomach. And I poured out your ashes on it I guess so you can watch the sunset But the truth is I don't think of that dust as you You are the sunset Spoiler In today's episode of "I Knew I Should Have Listened To This When It Came Out But For Some Unknown Reason I Intentionally Ignored This For Months" But anyway, the better half of F*ck Buttons (don't waste your time on listening to Andrew Hung's tragic debut album ) delivered his best yet 'World Eater' hypnotizes you from the very start with the enigmatic "John Doe's Carnival of Error". And it only gets better from there: then we have the aggressive "Rhesus Negative," cold, Forest Swords-esque "Pleas"e and the absolute highlight, "The Rat". I was so stupid for paying this dust
artangels Posted December 27, 2017 Posted December 27, 2017 (edited) talent truly won aclam is so beautiful never heard of such emotional record before tea at world eater! but the rat is... silent treatment is better Edited December 27, 2017 by artangels
Playa Playa Posted December 27, 2017 Posted December 27, 2017 Mary And yeah I had similar reaction to ACLAM's announcement. I barely listened to it for obvious reason but it's stunning.

Though, SWB had more going on electronically than those, so maybe that aspect was what helped appealed to you more. And so do I. I noticed, but idk if this is the case since my favorite tracks have barely any electronics 1 hour ago, Playa Playa said: Mary And yeah I had similar reaction to ACLAM's announcement. Tom Vercetti Posted December 27, 2017 Posted December 27, 2017 Nice sings. I wish ACLAM had more... how do I put this.. musical elements involved, like with Skeleton Tree or Carrie & Lowell. I feel the former is a little too acoustic and somber. Blanck Mass did that for sure. Quote don't waste your time on listening to Andrew Hung's tragic debut album Thanks for the warning.
jose168 Posted December 27, 2017 Posted December 27, 2017 I literally listened to Mount Eeries album once. Not putting myself through the SOBBING again.
ATRL Moderator Unoriginal Posted December 27, 2017 ATRL Moderator Posted December 27, 2017 MAH did that Republican fave I listened to ACLaM for the first time a couple days ago and ****ing hell it's deep and dark and horrible but incredible
Price of Fame Posted December 28, 2017 Posted December 28, 2017 Someone else who recognizes Mary as the best song on Capacity. That chorus is one of the most satisfying/relaxing things to sing along to
Pink Matter Posted December 28, 2017 Posted December 28, 2017 Blanck Mass The one time I felt I was being attacked by music. And I'm not sure what the confusion is with Melodrama being above Utopia
theblackestday Posted December 28, 2017 Posted December 28, 2017 Mary is so beautiful I knew it’d be in your top 10 Blanck Mass really did THAT. I listened to ACLAM once without paying attention to lyrics so I didn’t care for it, but I just read your writeup with the lyrics and just got serious chills
