prézli Posted December 14, 2017 Posted December 14, 2017 'grats to Pedro, I have no time for the games anymore. Not a big fan of the songs list, so I'm waiting for more.
305 Posted December 14, 2017 Posted December 14, 2017 Let Me Go and Good Old Days I Miss You is THAT bop
Dom Posted December 14, 2017 Posted December 14, 2017 let me goo, made my top too, slay a bit sis. Good old days is great.
MusicLoverDude Posted December 14, 2017 Author Posted December 14, 2017 MLD's Top 100 Songs: 70 - 61 70. Selena Gomez f. Gucci Mane - Fetish Selena had a really rough year as we all know. I'm happy that for now she is beginning to put that behind her. I will discuss that more later. Of the two singles she made that weren't an EDM collab, Fetish wasn't as good as Bad Liar. It's a grower, but near the end of it's run on my countdown, I was basically only listening to it once a day, and then once it retired from my countdown, I dropped but still played a few times. This is basically an inferior Good For You. Oh well, the rest of her songs will appear much higher on the countdown. First of four appearances by Selena Gomez. Only appearance by Gucci Mane 69. Lorde - Green Light Lorde has grown on me over the years. I went from not being able to stand her to being indifferent towards her, which isn't a bad thing. She's not something I'll ever stan for I don't think, but that's fine. Green Light is the best single she has ever released and honestly, it deserved better success. #19 on the Hot 100 isn't bad but it didn't have longetivity. I mean, I Really Like You peaked at #39 but spent 20 weeks on the Hot 100, for example. But whatever, I wish her luck with her AOTY nomination. Only appearance by Lorde 68. Charlie Puth - How Long ATRL pretty much only uses him for his looks, or the fact that they think he is a hunty. As anti-male as ATRL can be, Charlie is actually one of the better males with have right now. With that said, How Long is a decent song, but it feels like Attention 2.0. And not as good for that matter. But I'm happy that he is having success. First of two appearances by Charlie Puth 67. Kim Petras - I Don't Want It At All Kim's appearances on this countdown are kind of bittersweet. I'm proud of her for becoming a bit more mainstream and being the first transgender woman to appear on my countdown. But I'm also upset with the fact that she is a protégé of Dr. Luke now. Knowing what happened with Kesha, I worry what will happen with her later. It's an uncomfortable feeling. But I like this song and the video, she has a lot of personality put into this and the video is very entertaining. I wish her good luck! First of two appearances by Kim Petras 66. Martin Garrix f. Troye Sivan - There For You Ugh! Troye is serving in the verses, but just like I Miss You, the chorus just ruins it. Or more so, the breakdown right after Troye finishes singing. This song is so deep and light sounding in the verses, so if there was going to be an EDM breakdown, they should have done it a lot more subtle - kind of like the one in Circles On the Water by Samantha Jade. Or at least go more in with it like in In the Name of Love or Scared To Be Lonely. If the breakdown was better, this song would place higher, because Troye slayed this. First of two appearances by Martin Garrix. Only appearance by Troye Sivan 65. Iggy Azalea - Mo Bounce Poor Iggy. She had such a bad downfall after slaying in 2014. This song proves she still has that badass touch. Her flow mixes well with the beat here. I wish this could have at least been a viral hit, but I guess viral hits are only for Kelly Clarkson and unknown rappers. The chorus is infectious and this song deserved way better. Maybe someday she'll come back. Mike Posner did afterall. Only appearance by Iggy Azalea 64. Halsey - Now Or Never Unlike most of ATRL, I never gave much of a damn over how Halsey expresses herself. I think most of ATRL is just mad that she is doing better than most of our faves (bar Adele, Beyoncé, Rihanna and Taylor). It's pretty clear that Closer really gave Halsey the big break she needed, because it wasn't long before this took off, as did the other songs from her this era. This song was a grower on me and that beat is unforgettable, especially in the last chorus. There are better songs to come from her on this countdown. First of three appearances by Halsey 63. The Chainsmokers f. Coldplay - Something Just Like This https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FM7MFYoylVs
Dom Posted December 14, 2017 Posted December 14, 2017 fetish, mo bounce, now or never, sjlt, green light. honestly a slay set, slay Sully.
potent Posted December 14, 2017 Posted December 14, 2017 Melodrama was a great album but I still don't really use Green Light, it's so awkward and clunky There for You is cute-ish but yeah not as good as the Bebe or Dua collabs. Charlie's music this year was...not terrible I guess. When did Kelly have a viral hit? Hope Iggy never comes back SJLT is SO bad, I love Coldplay but I just can't with this song I hope the rest of this set will be posted soon

Inner Insanity Posted December 14, 2017 Posted December 14, 2017 Told You So is definitely Hard Times' less pretty but still dateable younger sister. Good Old Days gets better with each listen. Hey Hey Hey is a disaster of a song but the chorus is really catchy. I'm not super into BT the song as other people but she sounds amazing on it and the good parts of the song are really damn good.
jose168 Posted December 14, 2017 Posted December 14, 2017 First of four appearances by Selena Gomez. Only appearance by Gucci Mane I wonder which wil come on top Mo Bounce and Green light
Inner Insanity Posted December 14, 2017 Posted December 14, 2017 Oh wait there's more. Oops. Anyway... Green Light is a slay as always. The people who think Supercut is at all better are ugly. I can't buy into Halsey and her annoying indie millennial SJW schtick. She tries way too hard and it shows in her music. New Americana is still one of the worst songs I've ever heard. SJLT is still such a slay. If only more people would get into putting an electric guitar over an EDM drop. That final chorus and drop are pure BLISS. And Chris's voice is just like butter. So smooth and warm over the verses. Probably top 5 in my fave hits of the year.
K$Ellie Posted December 14, 2017 Posted December 14, 2017 Nnn the Angel description I pretty much feel the same way, it's the only song I liked from them this year Roulette is too low and Gorgeous is too high Guys My Age, First Time and Love So Soft are nice Told You So, Everyday, Good Old Days, Power, Fetish, I Don't Want It At All Now Or Never and Green Light are way too low
MusicLoverDude Posted December 14, 2017 Author Posted December 14, 2017 I see my edit didn't include 62 and 61. **** you ATRL. Ok, here we go. 62. Linkin Park - One More Light 61. Evanescence - Imperfection I'm too pissed to right a proper description for these songs because I already tried to and the ****ing site ****ed me over. Anyways, RIP Chester and welcome back Evanescence. Both of these songs are stellar. These are the only appearances for both bands @potent @Inner Insanity @K$Ellie @Dom @gagacasanova @jose168
Inner Insanity Posted December 14, 2017 Posted December 14, 2017 to both of these songs. Listening to OML is opening that wound again. I was a much bigger fan of LP when I was younger but they always have a special place in my heart.
lhdang2000 Posted December 14, 2017 Posted December 14, 2017 (edited) Awe, Lorde only has one song on your countdown? I've grown to love Charlie this era, his music is so catchy and I can't stop listening to it. RIP Chester. I remember being so shock when I heard the news... Edited December 14, 2017 by lhdang2000
JGibson Posted December 14, 2017 Posted December 14, 2017 5/10 One More Light + Green Light + Now Or Never + Something Just Like This RIP Chester
MusicLoverDude Posted December 15, 2017 Author Posted December 15, 2017 I may do Top Music Videos later tonight. Not sure
Mr.Link Posted December 15, 2017 Posted December 15, 2017 The last two are the highlights of the set but even though LP was on its last breath I think this last album was very disappointing quality-wise.
Remmy Posted December 15, 2017 Posted December 15, 2017 Fetish + There for You How Long, Mo Bounce, Now or Never Something Just Like This Green Light Not even a big fan of Fetish but it's way better than the 2 songs she featured on. There for You is alright, Troye's better solo. Mo Bounce was a big bop for a hot minute.
Phoenixstar Posted December 15, 2017 Posted December 15, 2017 7/8 I don't think I have ever heard Kim Petra before.
