She is one of the best selling female artists of all time in 3 major music markets: UK, Australia and Germany. She is only underappreciated/ underrated in the US because as I have mentioned in Base's thread, the US doesn't have a strong punk culture like the German speaking countries so her music and her image/personality don't appeal to Americans. She is a part of the Y2K MTV generation (2000-2002) along with Britney and Xtina. We all watched her music video on MTV.
