Chart rules are different. Catalog albums weren't allowed to chart back in the day.

Janet released 1 album every 4 years like her brother. She had been famous since she was a kid so she believed strongly in taking time off public view to not be over exposed.

 

From Control to All4U, Janet has only released 5 studio albums & 1 major compilations.

During that time, Madonna released 7 studio albums, 3 major soundtracks (13 Overall) & 4 major compilations.

Mariah was releasing albums yearly & Celine would release 2 a year at times.

 

So I am not surprised tbh.

she added 630 weeks in less than 4 years, that’s over third of the overall number, and increased by 60%, no one is gonna be able to touch, maybe ever
