Lauryn Hill was the first, having taken her debut solo hit "Doo Wop (That Thing)" to No. 1 for two weeks in November 1998. (She had first made her mark with the Fugees.) In 2001, Lil' Kim led for five weeks with Christina Aguilera, Mya and P!nk on "Lady Marmalade," while Shawnna assisted Ludacris on "Stand Up," which topped the Dec. 6, 2003, chart. (Honorable mention to Blondie, who, led by frontwoman Debbie Harry, is widely regarded as scoring the Hot 100's first rap No. 1, "Rapture," in 1981.) http://www.billboard.com/articles/news/6099390/iggy-azalea-tops-hot-100-fancy-matches-beatles lol I know, just one thing I wouldn't expect to see on ATRL

Queen Pen was the first "solo" female rapper to get a number one. (1996) Funny how they want to count shawnna even tho she had no verse on stand up, but don't acknowledge Remy ma. The single literally says ft. Fat joe & Remy Ma. (2004) iggy was not the 4th. But 6th. Technically 7th since the single version of no scrubs says ft. Left eye. Queen Pen isn't credited for No Diggity http://www.billboard.com/charts/hot-100/1996-11-16 No Diggity BLACKstreet (Featuring Dr. Dre)

Squall Posted September 27, 2017 Posted September 27, 2017 #3 on iTunes #3 on Spotify US out of top 10 in airplay What the hell did she dominate to snatch the #1?

Spotify is not representative of the whole streaming picture. Or even close. It's a big portion but that's all. Cardi is #1 on youtube by a long way.

It's getting 3 million views a day, even if it's super local and that all of these are from the US, Taylor is getting 6 million and I wouldn't be surprised if 2-3M of the views are from the US. Really, I don't see where that girl is dominating that much to be #1.

Bodak: #2 - Streaming #3 - Sales #13 - Radio The songs that are #1 on components... Rockstar; #1 - Streaming #1 - Sales N/A - Radio, next to 0 plays. Attention: #33 - Streaming #24 - Sales #1 - Radio Cardi is much more balanced on all 3 components overall generating greater points. Taylor is #2 in sales, #4 in streaming, and #10 on radio yet Cardi's streaming lead (13.7 million streams) is much bigger than Taylor's sales lead (2,000 sales).
Fruity Posted September 27, 2017 Posted September 27, 2017 US youtube yesterday: Cardi: 2.782 m Taylor: 2.098 m Apple Music yesterday: Cardi #2 Taylor #28 Taylor's leads in sales and radio are not nearly as big as Cardi's lead on streaming

Ok it just feels so random for a #1 to me. Not that I am mad or anything I don't really care but idk, I just don't see it as a #1. Good for her though, change is good, long reigning #1s are boring.
