Yeah and it's funny because I'm seeing people that typically shade urban music in general with thinly veiled "meme music" remarks suddenly dick riding Cardi just to passive-aggressively shade Nicki. It's lame af, but for whatever reason some people on this site literally live for **** like that.

They're so sad :lmao:

Just be genuinely happy for Cardi. **** love putting women against each other to make up for their own shortcomings.

I like both women but I'm not so sure I can stand behind your predictions

For now, good on Cardi for doing this.

I don't think Cardi will be an album artist, but no one is checking for a Nicki Minaj album...

I'm surprised at Taylor's drop tho. Maybe the iTunes discount wasn't about the number one spot at all, but trying to break the start of a potential nosedive? Everybody assumed it was about Cardi, but seeing that she didn't just drop one spot it seems bigger than just trying to maintain #1.

Is this the first solo female rap #1 since Lauryn Hill? That’s a pretty big deal actually.

yep.

This will be in the history books for sure.

I just wonder if she can match or surpass the 2 weeks of doo wop that thing reached.

But that still has a pop chorus. It may not be manufactured like fancy but the song has a pop chorus believe it or not.

Manufactured like Fancy??? Get the f*ck out of here with that bs.

Yall still swear Iggy was some huge label creation or some **** as if she didn’t work her way up from nothing. Fancy was genuine and people connected to that, whether it had a pop chorus or not that song was gonna hit.

Well said!

It's so sad how they try pinning them both against each other when they both already acknowledged and respect each other.

Cardi's going to take too long to release an album and the SPS from BY won't reach its maximum potential in the album's FW.

She already said she doesn't know if she'll release in October because she doesn't feel the tracks are better than BY yet.

@simmnfierzig how close was rockstar from debuting at #1? Sucks he didn’t get the top spot and we could’ve had another #1 on the charts, with Cardi getting it next week.

Don't think we have numbers yet, do we?

Congrats to Cardi. Just please someone at Atlantic, get her some media training. :jonny3:

Rockstar is still climbing on streaming. If he managed to debut at #1 Cardi may have not gotten there at all. It's better this way in my opinion. I see it reaching number one in two weeks if its streaming keeps like this and radio picks it up!

Oh please. Haters and fans alike will stream it the first week.

Those first few weeks were based on hype, and that hype came from 1989. "Look" is not a genuinely good song, nor is it that catchy. Not surprised it has been losing steam in every metric.

Yep.. knew that was going to happen. That's unfortunately what creates one hit wonders. Your first single tops the charts and you want every single to do the same thing, so you hesitate and kill your chances. She needs to just release the album and stop worrying about that.

:clap3: Happy for Cardi. Next week will be exciting as well.
